why people hate going to tire shops

Tire shops use hidden fees, sell old stock as new, and switch customers to pricier options without consent. The speaker explains why these tactics happen and what ethical shops should do instead.
So a lot of shops will give you a price, say, oh, that tire is $50. Well, heck, you think it's gonna be $50, right? Maybe, plus tax. Because that it is what it is. Now you go there, now you got to pay 35 to put it on. You got to pay your disposal and all that stuff, man, just go to a place that gives you everything right up front. Don't play no games. Another thing selling tires is new. There's a lot of companies who. I go out here and buy these deals, right? And the tire might already be four or five years old sitting in the warehouse. Don't buy these tires. Look at the dates. They're selling you old tires at a discount. Now, shops do mechanic work. They're gonna try to get you in there with a bait and switch. You know, these tires are 79. Well, when you get there, they're $179. But the thing is, they're there to try to get you in the door to try to say you break jobs, transmission drives, you know, brake fluid exchanges, stuff like that. Don't go to these fast blue places and do that. These guys are making eight, nine dollars an hour plus commission. They're there to sell you anything and everything. Don't do it. Now the next one just lack of customer education. Now you're. A lot of times people say, oh, well, you know, I'm looking for the. For the cheapest price, right? Well, that don't necessarily mean the customer wants the cheapest price. Yeah, that's what you don't understand. You're putting the wrong tires on the customer's cars. Make sure you're asking the correct questions to where the. It's for the customer's needs. You're there to coach them. You're not there just to take their money. So just get your stuff together. Make you have your mentor. If you store don't know what the hell you're doing, hire somebody that knows what they're doing. It could be me, it could be anybody else. It don't matter. Make sure you all get your stuff together.
