👉 Will 35’s Fit WITHOUT Cutting?

Mike Melton installs 35-inch mud-grab tires on a truck that came with 275/55-20s, showing the full shop process from breaking the bead to reprogramming TPMS sensors. The road-force balance test shows minimal vibration at 1.5 oz, and the tires fit with 2 inches of level clearance.

This guy thinks A set of 35, 12, 50, 20 is going to fit on this truck. So right now he's got 275, 55, 20s and the truck's level with factories. The tire he's wanting to put on there is these 35, 12, 50, 20. And of course the mud grabs. Now what makes it a little harder to put on these factory wheels for the truck is going to be the side biters right here, the side lugs and how wide that tire is. 12 and a half inches wide, I think. Definitely going to give it a different look when we put these on there compared to the highway treads rather than mud graps. If you're not familiar with these mud graphs look like. So here's the tire tread pattern. Of course you do it like this. What's that look like? Set of nuts right there. It's got a claw there. Now, when it comes to mud tires, this is one of the best looking mud tires on the market, hands down. Now I'm going tell you what, some people say this tire is loud. This is going to be one of the quietest tires. Even quieter than a Michelin truck tire. No, I don't believe that. That's full of crap. This is one of the loudest tires. But a lot of people like at home. Come on, get her off of there, get her off of there. Get that air out of there with a valve. So this right here is called a valve core remover. So removes the valve core in there, it uses right here, break that bead, get that tire up of there. This one here is a little different. He's going to use a roller and it's going to break the bead. What he's doing, he's setting that roller right, he's going to roll it around and what it's going to do, it's going to keep on dropping it down and break the bead right there. All right. What he's doing here is replacing the stem that bolts up to the sensor. So a lot of shops when you go, they don't replace this thing, they just leave the old one in there, which is crazy. You see, now he's putting brand new one in there. So he's gonna take it, just pop it in there, just like that. All right, we're gonna take it, lube it up, make sure you use plenty of lube. These nittos got two different designs. This one, it's got a smooth sidewall. This near has got a more aggressive looking sidewall. See all these little, little Divots and ditches, whatever those things are. All right, so he's gonna set the head on there. All right, he's got that set. He's gonna bring it on around. We're gonna mount her up just like that. Now he's gonna take the roller. You're gonna. All right, now you're using the helping arm. Keep it below that drop center. All right, now we go to inflation. Now we're going to seat the bead. All right, now what we're going to do is massage the bead. What it's going to do is release any kind of air that's trapped in between the rim flange and the bead of the tire, help reduce that radial run out. Now we're going to load it up on the road force machine. Make sure you guys are using a flange kit. Any tire shops that are watching me use the flange kit. What this does is gonna. It's gonna bounce about a lug holes. Even though the wheels are hub centric, this gives you a better balance. You don't believe me? All you gotta do is Google. Google's free. Now the flange plate kit, if you're a tire shop and you want to get one of these, then link will be in my description. All right, we got all the weights off. Got everything set up right. Now what we got to do next, you know what we got to do? We got to take that damn sticker out. Let's get her off of there. All of it, not just some of it. Whole damn sticker. All right, now what we're going to do, we're going to road force it. So what we're going to do, put that roller on the tire force, and it's called road forcing. So now we got it rolling here. Just a second. The road is going to come down. If you don't know what road force is, let me tell you. This is a roller that's going to put 1200 pounds of force on the tire, simulating it being driven down the road. So it's going to look for anything that's going to cause a vibration in between the wheel or the tire before it goes on that vehicle. Now look at that. It's only got three and a half ounces here, ounce and a half here, and only 13 pounds of force. So this thing's going to ride like a damn Cadillac. So now let's go ahead and balance all the other ones and we're going to put them on the truck. Show you what these wheels and tires going to look like. On the truck. Alright. Now we're making sure we torn them down. Of course we got the tire shot on there. We're about to pull this thing out. Show you what these tires look like on this truck. Now he's going around resetting the TPMS pressures go to each one. What do you do? You put that tool on the sidewall. What it does send the signal to the sensor. Then that horn beeps here. In a second it's going to beep twice. It's going to let you know that it's reprogrammed here in just a second. That's it. All right. Now let's bring this thing out. Show you what it looks like. The mud wraps are the best looking tire. You know I got the trail grabs on mine, but these mud wraps are pretty dope. I got a set of the mud grabs for my other big lifter truck waiting to get put on. Come on out. Let me see what these things look like. So yeah, the 35, 12, 50, 20 fits on this truck with a what do you say, 2 inch level, 2 inch level on there. So if you want a set of mud graps, if you're local or you don't want mine to drive, come hit me up. I got you back.
