Mike Melton reviews the Ridgeblade XRT, a rough terrain tire under $1,000 mounted that balances like a Nitto, handles heavy loads with a 12-ply rating, and includes the three-peak mountain snowflake rating. It's noisier than all-terrain tires but offers strong value.
Now, we talked about these tires right here before. This is that Ridgeblade xrt. Now, as far as balancing, these things balance damn near like a toy or nitto. But we all know the quality is night and day difference, brother. So if anybody tries to tell you that a cheaper tire is the same quality as a nitto or toyo, I'm gonna tell you what, go ahead and leave that store because they line, but you're not having to pay as much. All right, let's go over what that sidewall looks like. It's got a pretty aggressive looking sidewall. Now, as far as quietness of the tire, it's an RT tire. So your RT tires are definitely not as quiet as like an all terrain tire. But if you're looking for a set of tires that are a thousand dollars or less mounted and balanced, this is going to be your tire if you're trying to save some money. So for you guys that haul heavyweight, yeah, these things are 12ply people that are up in the snow. These things are three peak mountain snow ready too. Now, one thing about this tire that I do like, if you look right here, it's got little step downs. So each one of those step downs is wear indicators, shows you how much life is left in that tire. So if you tight on a budget and want a decent set of tires, go with this one.
