Your Balancing Wheels All wrong

Mike Melton shows why pressure cups and front-mounted collets damage wheels and cause vibration. Balance instead by the lug holes using dedicated plates made for 5-, 6-, or 8-lug wheels.

If you're balancing wheels with these right here, you're doing it all wrong. So when you're using the pressure cup, even though it's got that rubber ring on there, you can still damage the wheel. Let me show you. Alright, so even though it's got that protective cover on there, if you got any kind of debris on there, you put it to the front of that wheel and you go to clamp it down, you can wind up damaging that paint. So that's just one reason why we bounce by the logos. Now, before we get back to the video, if you're looking for one of these and you want to do stuff right, DM me, we do carry these. We are a distributor. Let's get back to the video in Even though this wheel is a hub centric factory wheel, you can still get vibration just using the collet. So if there's any kind of imperfections where the center bore is and you put that collet in there, it's not going to sit on there right now, especially with aftermarket wheels, the center bars are never cut true, ever. So a lot of y' all take the collet and y' all put it onto the front part of the wheel. A lot of that stuff ain't true round, so you're going to get vibration issues. So instead of using the collets on the front of the wheels like a lot of you guys do, balance it by the lug hose. That way you get a true balance. So it doesn't matter if your wheels are lug centric or hub centric, you're going to want to use this system right here. Now how we have it set up, we already have the plates ready to go. 5 lug, 6 lug and 8 lug already ready to go. It speeds up everything and you're going to reduce any kind of vibration issues that your customers are going to have and reduce any kind of comebacks.
