Good evening to Facebook, LinkedIn, and to YouTube. Welcome to my live. So I will give social media a couple of moments to let you guys know that I'm live, and I will start in about 30 seconds. Okay, 30 seconds. If you come back later to see the replay, um, be sure to put hashtag replay in the comment section. Um, ask your questions down there as well. Um, and so with that being said, I'm going to go ahead and go into some announcements really quickly. And so, um, tonight is about, um, part 2, uh, which is called 5 More Powerful Reasons Why Therapists Should Become Life Coaches. Okay. Um, and so I'm having the interest meeting next Thursday, not today, but next Thursday at 7 :30 PM EST, okay? So be sure to register for that on Eventbrite. I will be going over the program, answering your questions. It'll be via Zoom, okay? Not live, but within a Zoom setting where you can really ask me questions, right, and get to know me a little bit better, okay? Um, and so I'm excited about it. I love doing, um, you know, the Zoom, you know, meetings because people tend to ask more questions and they tend to, um, really be more engaged. It's just, it's amazing, okay? Um, so be sure to register for that on Eventbrite. Also on Sunday, May the 4th, that's the Sunday after the interest meeting, I'm having my monthly, um, Christian leadership mentorship group meeting, um, at 7 o'clock PM EST. Okay, and you guys, it has been absolutely amazing. All right, this will be our third time meeting in the past, uh, 3 months. Um, so what I do is we have a community on WhatsApp where, you know, throughout the week we encourage each other. Um, throughout the week, um, we, you know, I share what God gives me for them specifically. I don't share a lot on social media because it's for those who were in the group, okay? So I did share, um, a little bit, um, of the word that God gave me for them yesterday, and it blessed them, and it was so timely, all right? So best believe I'm hearing God, I'm praying, I'm for them, covering them in prayer as well. And God has really given me a burden from it for them, but the burden is not, um, it's not heavy, okay? Um, is it work? Yes, but I love doing it because I love to see them thrive, okay? So it's been amazing. Um, we come together during our Bible study time. It's also via Zoom. We all get to see each other, talk to each other, fellowship, um, share on our heart. We do a Bible study. Um, I share what God is saying, um, to them, um, during that time., and we have prayer. So about an hour and maybe an hour 15 minutes, maybe hour and a half max. Okay. Um, and so it has been a joy, it's been an honor, um, to be able to provide that space. Um, the Lord told me to, um, create that group, um, back in, um, February. Okay. Um, and so every single month we'll keep meeting. It's open year round, but if you want to join, um, now is the time to come on in. Um, you'll be able to have, uh, see other replays. We have the notes in there, and there's so much, you guys. So much God is doing with that. Okay, um, and so without that being said, with all that being said, we're going to go ahead and get into, um, part 2 of today's, um, teaching. Okay, so last week before Easter, I went live and did a part 1. I did 2 parts because part 1 was almost like an hour long, so I knew it would be kind of long and I didn't want to kind of cram all 10 in one particular video. All right, um, and so tonight we're gonna go over the last 5. If you have any questions up here I put them in the comment section. I thank you all who up here now for, um, for being on. I appreciate it. I know it's Thursday evening, people are probably tired. I'm a little tired myself, okay? I had to pray, my Lord, send me a second wind. It's been a long week but a good week, all right? Okay, so, um, number 6 here, um, what I put was Coaching has allowed me as a therapist to truly branch out to be all God has called me to be. Okay, so what do I mean by that? So wherever you are, you're doing therapy, of course you can provide, you know, um, group stuff, you can provide, um, you know, consultations, but you're not supposed to operate outside of those lines within your state. I know right now some states are actually working on trying to lift up that particular law they have in place now. Prayerfully, it will be able to be lifted because people want to be able to see therapists who are in different states. As I said before, during the pandemic, I was swamped. I was seeing 30 clients a week plus, and they were still calling me from different states. I'm like, hey, I don't have any space. They was begging me, please, please, please. But then after the pandemic kind of died down, um, also during the pandemic, I also became certified again for the second time. I wanted to do, do it again, and I want to really add that component, um, to my business as well. And the Lord told me to do it too, okay? So, um, that really opened up so many doors for me because of course I feel like therapy was kind of like restricting me to the point where I really couldn't fully, you know, be, you know, reach certain people because of the different states. All right, okay, so let me see here. And also, you guys, all right, if you are a person who has so much in you and you have like so many different ideas and things you want to do, you know, with your business slash ministry, right, that is going to help you a lot. So let me explain. So in 2020, right, 2019, I had this very detailed dream. In this dream, there were empty, um, bottles, uh, for babies, like, all over the floor, okay? And you guys, I had milk coming out of my breast so fast I couldn't keep up, and the bottle filling up just like that, okay? I told you guys before in the last live that I was hiding behind my license as a therapist because I did not want to How do I explain it? I did not want to risk, right, you know, things that were looking or appearing to be unethical. So I wasn't online like that, you know. I wasn't really, you know, no one really knew who I was but my clients, okay? They would share, people, hey, I have a therapist, she's a Christian, she's a woman of God, she can help you. I had that going on in the behind the scenes before I get online. I wasn't doing that, okay? And so the Lord showed me, he said, daughter, it is time for you to pour out. You are so full. You carry so much. You have so much wisdom, so much knowledge, so much, just so much to pour out. It's time for you to pour out. I was about to bust wide open. I really did. Like, during that time, I was so full of just like God's word, his wisdom, things he has, you know, taught me over the years. Because I have been walking with God since 2009, so here it is like 2020, okay? And I have been in training with him for over a decade, y'all. So I had so much in me that God wanted me to get that thing out to be able to, you know, help other people. And so since then, I've created an academy, I've created so many books, right? I mean, I have the nonprofit, I have so many things God has called me to create and start and to build. But it's through his grace. I am an apostolic builder. I'm a builder, I'm a doer. I'm not a talker, I'm a doer, okay? So whatever God give me to do, I'mma try my best to do it and the best that I can with his grace, okay? And so that's what God was showing me then. Now I'm looking like, wow, God, I see what you mean now. This is a lot, and it's still so much I want to do for the kingdom. It's still so much that I want to do, you know, for God's people and therapists and coaches and just leaders. I mean, I have like— I have a little dream board over here, okay, of things that I want to do. And so I'm saying that to say is that as a therapist, sometimes it can be kind of difficult to do that because clinical work is heavy. Clinical work is not for the faint at heart, okay? And I told you guys before, you know, in previous lives, that God had to prepare me for the overflow. When I was seeing— you know, so before the pandemic came, I was seeing maybe 10 clients a week, and I kept saying, God, I don't understand, why am I not getting, you know, high number of clients? He said, I'm training you. I'm like, I'm preparing you. And I'm like, okay guys, I had to be patient. So when the pandemic hit, y'all, I was ready spiritually. I wasn't burnt out, I wasn't exhausted, I wasn't tired. I was able to really, you know, be there and be in position to help God's people during the time when it was needed the most. You hear me? And so I saw that many clients for months, okay? It was months, y'all. It was by God's grace, y'all. I had so many clients. I might have one client that might have to, you know, stop coming. Before I knew it, he got two new clients. It was like this, back to back to back to back to back to back, okay? So if that is you, you have so much vision for what you want to do in ministry, coaching is a great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great service to have in your tool belt. Coaching is a service, okay? That's the 6th one. The 7th one here is, um, restore your joy and reignite purpose in your work. So that goes back to doing therapy. If you've been doing counseling for a long time, you guys, it can— over time you get tired. A lot of my colleagues who have been in this for a very long time, they are tired, right? They still love therapy, they still love counseling, you know, people, but they want to see less people. So when you see less people, that means less money, okay? Especially if you are entrepreneur and you're on your— like, you're in your own business. And so for me, I had counseling and coaching. I was doing both for a period of time, okay? So I was still, you know, working, you know, Empowered to Shift, seeing clients there while also building my coaching business at the same exact time, okay? And in my program, I would teach you how to do that, okay? Um, and so it helped me to like be excited again, to be alive again, because I felt like— I feel a little stuck in a sense. I'm like, God, I am tired. I am so tired. Like, listen, like— and my best friend was also a therapist too, said that, you know, when she finished her program, one of the things they kept saying is that most therapists, you know, after about, you know, 3 to 5 years, they're like, they're tired. And, you know, she was like, Kitty, you know what, you did it for a long time. I've been doing this since 2013. Okay, and so I was, you know, doing it for a while and like having to take on all that, also being, you know, being in business too can be exhausting. So coaching really just opened up my eyes and, oh my God, so many different doors for me to see what's possible outside of just doing therapy, you know. Okay, um, and this 8th one here I put is um, create a space for people who need to transition for growth. Okay, what do I mean by that? So, you know, we have people who want to come to therapy, right? But they're not really an ideal client for therapy, and you have to build the insurance, or maybe they are private pay, I'm not sure. Either way, but they just want somebody to kind of talk to, to go over life stuff with, right? Nothing major. They are perfect for coaching. They are perfect to be a coaching client for you, and you can offer that service to them. Like, hey, you know, you don't really qualify to be, you know, to be in therapy. You know, you have a diagnosis, you know, or you don't have one. Well, I can't— well, I don't have one for you, so let's look at coaching. And once again, in my program, I show you, you know, how to do that, how to approach your clients with that. Um, I shared that before in the past, how I had, you know, clients who was in this state and I was seeing them for counseling. They end up having to go to a different state and they had to move. So when they got settled, they end up coming back and they did coaching with me, okay? And I made sure, hey, get a therapist too to kind of help you because they want more of like the spiritual component from me. They want more of that part versus like the clinical stuff, okay? So keep that in mind. Um, the next one here is develop a business. Develop a model that you are passionate and excited about. I'm not saying that you can't have a therapy practice where it is not exciting, where it's not, you know, amazing, all that good stuff. What I'm saying is you do have some restrictions there because guess what we have? A licensing board. We have our board who has a very rigorous, um, you know, code of ethics. You know what, you know, we got to be mindful all that. You don't want to get sued. You don't want— so you got to be very, very careful. So So I have two different books. One is about the Holy Spirit for therapists, um, and one is for life coaches. And both books are very, very different. They're different because as a therapist, you have to do things in an ethical way, and I teach therapists how to do that in an ethical way, okay? Then over here on coaching, it's a lot easier, you guys, because if you already marketing that, people kind of already know what to expect from you, okay? And for me, when I was in my private practice You know, I really didn't advertise like doing Christian therapy quite yet because I feel like, okay, God, who am I called to serve? He said, you called to my lost sheep, okay? People who are saved, people who are believers, and they are stuck in their life. They're dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, postpartum, and so much more, okay? Um, and so, um, with that, you know, as I begin to kind of branch out, I begin to start put, okay, Christian therapy, right? And I started to get my ideal clients then I'll be a beginner guy. Okay, and, um, the last one here, you guys, is to me is, is the most important one. As a therapist, you kind of already have an idea who you are called to serve. So I had this strategy that I created for myself that I'm also going to teach also therapists in the, in the, in the program of how to really figure out your niche, okay? So for me, okay, before I started doing therapy, I've always had a passion for Christian leaders. Even when I was a baby in Christ, I, you know, I prayed for them. Like, looking back, I'm like, wow, God, you really did have me interceding for, you know, my leaders and my pastors then a lot, a whole lot. Like, they didn't even know it, okay? Now, there were times when God would show them that I'm praying for them. They would call, hey, they Thank you for your prayers. God showed you— showed me you praying for me, and God just gave me that burden. I had no idea it would come up to this point today. No idea. Okay, so fast forward, me going to school, becoming a therapist, okay? I begin to get Christian leaders coming to me for therapy, okay? They came. Some of them were apostles, teachers, all walks of life, different races. Oh my God, it was amazing, okay? And that's where I thrive the most, to be honest. I got like so excited because I'm passionate about seeing leaders, you know, heal on purpose, to be intentional. Because you have so many people that look up to you, that you're leading, okay? And you need— also, they need a safe place too, to be able to truly just, ah, like, just, just be themselves, be honest, be transparent in a safe place. Okay, I had men, men as well, different races. They were leaders, you guys. And so, um, it started in therapy, you know, as I began to, you know, continue to grow. And then when God called me to, you know, start coming online and do coaching, it didn't change. My niche didn't— it didn't change, you guys. And so from there, I was able to start coaching leaders from different states and different areas, okay? Um, and so I know that I also offer like other programs. I want to, you know, I had to go back and sit and meditate. Okay, when I work with clients, which one made the most progress? Which ones that I feel the most alive with when I'm working with them, right? That's kind of how I pull from what I should be creating for my coaching programs, you guys. Okay, and again, I go over all that as well in my program to certify life coaches. Okay. Um, and so make sure I'm not missing anything. I had a question on Instagram. Um, can you rename the 5 reasons please? Um, I'm gonna leave the replay up because I, I am almost done. Um, I'll go over the last few in just a couple of minutes, okay? So give me just a moment if you want to stay on. Um, and so yes, and so let me know if you're watching right now on, you know, LinkedIn, Facebook, or YouTube, or even up here on Instagram, which one like stood out to you. Right, which one do you have a question for in reference to, um, becoming, you know, being a therapist and going into life coaching? Okay. Oh yeah, so here's a quote I found. This is not my quote, but it's a quote that I saw when I was creating, um, some blog articles on my, um, academy. And it says, becoming certified provides you with the structure and helps you to transition you through um, from therapy to coaching, but Holy Spirit gives you the blueprint. And so in my program, I'm teaching you, okay, I'm teaching you what I know for sure, but I'm also encouraging you to spend time with the Lord and allow God to give you your specific blueprint. Because what happens is, right, what works for me might not work for you. What God called me to, he might not— he haven't called you to that. We are different people with different personalities, with different backgrounds, with different, you know, types of gifts. It ebbs and flows, the gifts that we have. So my— I look at my program as like discipleship in a sense. Well, it is discipleship. God told me it was. And also, I'm giving you tools to help you to like start your business, to, you know, how to, you know, how to, you know, bring on clients, right? And my program, I'm going to have actually two parts to it, okay? So I'll go over that again next Thursday during the Interest Meet. I'm going over all of that. I'm going over all of that. All right, um, any questions? Yes, you're welcome, Precious. Okay, and so here, um, this is what somebody asked me to go over, the 5 again real quickly. Um, the number 6 was walk fully in your calling. Um, coaching has definitely opened up so many doors for me and opened up my mindset and possibilities, uh, because as a therapist, I feel restricted to my state And so it really did kind of prevent me from going online a lot because I felt like, okay, I can only work with people here in my state, so why am I put all energy and time into, you know, doing all this work and I can't really serve them? Okay, um, number 7 was it would restore your joy and reignite your purpose in your work. If you are a therapist who's been doing this for a very long time, even if it's been a year, you guys, it depends on what kind of clients you have. If you work like in the prison system, if you work in different, you know, areas where it's very, um, like heavy, okay, very heavy, doing coaching kind of gives you that breath of fresh air. Because I find like, y'all, the clients I coach over the years, y'all, has given me life, okay? Because like I am flowing in, you know, my purpose and what God has called me to specifically. And so I love it, I love it, love it, love it. And God always show up I see my clients for coaching. Okay, um, number 8 is, um, you are, you know, you can provide clients that may come to you that you can't see for therapy, who might be in a different state, or they are in your state but they don't necessarily need therapy. You can offer them your coaching. Okay, and again, I will show that, I will show you guys that in my program, like how to really do that, how to transition with that. Um, number 9, um, create a business that truly honors your faith and your values. Because as a therapist, we do know that we have to go by the, the board, their code of ethics, the law, the state laws, okay? There are laws we have to go by and keep in mind whenever we are seeing clients as therapists, even as Christians, okay? And so again, I said earlier, I have 2 books, one for therapists, one for life coaches. They're different. They're different because once again, the therapist, you have to keep in mind all that stuff. You got insurance companies to deal with, right? How you gonna write your note, right? Like, it's just so much, it's so much, okay? And when I heard doing coaching, it was like, oh, I could breathe, I could breathe a little bit. I had been doing my own business for a while, okay, in reference to therapy. And then number 10 Um, my favorite one here is because you are a therapist— I didn't say this earlier— it actually is easier for you to transition, um, into really understanding what your niche is. So for me, as I said earlier, I know God has always called me to Christian leaders, so that niche didn't change. How I served them changed, but the niche did not change. Okay, so I still work with primarily Christian leaders. Um, I have, you know, other clients that come to me. Yeah, for sure, absolutely. But most of them are Christian leaders, okay? Um, and so it really, um, gave me the space to have this freedom to create content for them with no jurisdiction, with no worry, with no like, oh my God, well, what if this— what, you know, that happened? Well, you know. So yes, I definitely did my legal research. I definitely consulted with a lawyer about how to navigate this, right? And I teach you all that also in the program, okay? So coaching is a great tool to have, a great service to have under your business. And again, every state is different. Every state is different. I always encourage therapists to call your licensing board, talk to them about it, ask them like, what do I need to do to protect my license and to protect myself and to protect, you know, my work and keep things, you know, separate? And they will tell you. That's what I did. They would tell you. They would tell you. And therapists are doing it, you know, all over the world. All over. All over. Um, and so I will say, for me, I would say the biggest challenge for me was the, the, the transition mentally. Because once again, I always struggle with trying to serve too many people, and my message became a little like— how can I say— not what I had to say was still good, but I wasn't really reaching in the way that I, I needed to. I wasn't speaking their language enough. But once I began to really dig in into that, because God had told me, y'all, y'all I'm telling y'all, I listen, and my program will teach you what to do and what not to do. I have so many lessons to teach, teach people. Well, I had my last cohort for the entrepreneur program. I was teaching them like, listen, don't do this, okay? Save your time, save your money, save your energy, okay? And do it this way, okay? And so because of me, you know, trying to figure out, okay, I see, you know, John doing it this way. I see Celia doing it this way when God had already told me, daughter, do it this way. Okay, so that, like, for— so for me, I wasted time and money trying to do it like everybody else do. Okay, so we, we're not gonna do that. We're not gonna do that. All right, so again, uh, if you haven't registered yet, um, please register for the event. Um, it's next Thursday. The interest meeting will be at 7:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. Enrollment will also open on May 1st. I can't wait. And we will actually— I end up having to move up the schedule just a little bit, um, so we'll actually start classes, um, towards the end of May. Okay, so I'm excited about it. It's going to be amazing. Um, and then someone has sent me an email, a therapist, a colleague of mine. She's been in therapy for a long time too. Okay, and she's trying to like, you know, not stop therapy, but she wanted to add coaching, you know, into, into her business too. And so she asks, like, do insurance companies cover therapy— I mean, cover, um, coaching? And it depends. Every state is different, you guys. Every state is different. Every insurance company is different. Every plan is different. So a person can have a plan, and with the insurance company, uh, it could be two clients, right? And they can have two different plans. But oftentimes clients don't know because they haven't asked. Or they haven't read what their, you know, what their stuff says about what come with their package. But me personally, I honestly think that that's too much work, to be honest. It's a lot of work trying to figure out if an insurance company take it or not. Have the client do it. Have the client call and find out for themselves. Okay, so I recommend that. Okay, um, so anything else for you guys? And I'll say this one more time for those of you who just got on just now. So I read this somewhere that said that the Holy Spirit will give you the vision, but certification provides you with structure. And this is what my program does, okay? It helps give you that structure, that streamlined process where you ain't got to figure everything out all by yourself, okay? I'm someone that walked it and I have became successful at it, okay? And I'm still creating and I'm still building. I'm still doing all these things that God has put on my heart to create. Okay, so if we have any questions in the comment section, just let me know. Check over here. Hey, Octavia, thanks for getting on. You're welcome, precious. Yes. Hello, Mildred. Anybody else? Um, and also, I have not forgotten about, um, the Christian leaders. I haven't forgotten about those who want to recertify. And so let me go and on to that just a little bit. So for Christian leaders, um, after we have our interest meeting on Thursday, I will be doing a couple of lives for you all too, uh, for Christian leaders about how this can help people. I'm also going to go over that in the interest meeting too as well. And also for those who are already certified, so let me explain, okay? So my first certification, I got mine through, um, this company called, um, Udemy, U-D-E-M-Y. And it was a good program, it was great, it was good, okay? But to me, it was, it was not enough because I still wasn't quite confident in adding it to my practice, and I wasn't confident in the transition quite yet. And so then during the pandemic, I came across a woman of God. She was providing certification, um, then, okay, 2020, okay. So I did it, and I'm like, wow, God, I can really do this. Like, this is— I'm already doing it in a sense, okay. I went ahead, took the program, Um, but I still needed like some help with like the business part and structure because the program didn't go over all that. It was just basic certification. Okay. And so fast forward to what's this year, 2025? So 2023, 2022, 2022, I believe. Don't quote me on that, you guys. Um, one day, um, you know, at this point I already had my academy, you know, kind of, you know, kind of building it out. And I had saw this, um, woman of God. She was providing certification. I'm like, why that is so amazing? Like, you know, you know, so cool. She's providing Um, you know, people with certification as life coaches now. And God said, you can do the same thing. I said, what? Say what now, Lord? So the Lord was pretty much telling me, do the same thing. You had the knowledge, you had the skill set, you had the experience, right? You, you, you're building your business now. Go ahead and work on that. And so I did. So I signed up again for another program that also gave me certification, and then it taught me how to structure my program. Now their program was great, but I had to take that thing and revamp it and make it Holy Spirit-led, okay? So I shared before a different live how I had so much, y'all, so much spiritual warfare trying to get that program out, y'all. I had so much opposition trying to get the program out because I wanted to pre-record some of the content, not all of it, okay? And I also teach y'all. When I say y'all, mm-mm-mm, because the program, I had to take it, I had to study it, I had to learn, I had to go back in and add my own stuff to it, which I knew that people would need, okay? And then not only that, you guys, I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but I don't know many people who are actually therapists who practice as a therapist and transition to life coach and also provide certification now. I don't know anybody who does that. So the people that I know who provide it, they are, they are Christians, they, you know, I'm educated, all that, but they don't have therapy experience. And so that's an advantage that I have when it comes to my business, that I know, I, yeah, I know all the ins and outs on both sides now. Okay. Um, so yes, so again, hope to see you guys on next Thursday. At 7:30 PM EST. Yeah, um, and thanks again for watching. If you have any questions, um, feel free to put them in the comment section. Um, if you have my email, email me as well. I had no problem with that. And yeah, that's all I have to say. Let me see any more questions. Thank you all for getting on. Um, again, I'll leave up the replay. It'll be on LinkedIn, it'll be on Facebook, it'll be on YouTube and also on Instagram, okay? And if you on my email list, um, I will send it out, the replay, tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow, okay? So thanks again for those of you who got on live. I really appreciate it, um, and hopefully this live tonight helped you and really gave you more clarity about, you know, how being a life coach can help you as a therapist, okay? And so See you guys next week. Okay, bye.
