Certified Christian Life Coaches Share Their Journey & Testimonies of Transformation

In this live‑stream hosted by Shakeela Torres, the newly certified cohort of Christian life coaches—Dr. Leslie Gordon, Denise T. King, Kya Horace, and Kimberly Sanders—reflect on their experience in the faith‑centered coaching program. Each coach offers a concise, one‑word summary of their journey, explains why they enrolled, and describes how the curriculum stretched them spiritually and professionally. The discussion walks through the program’s structure (modules, replay access, Holy‑Spirit‑led coaching sessions), the process of defining a niche, and the distinction between launching a coaching ministry versus a for‑profit business. Participants share early client successes, practical steps for monetizing their services, and expressions of gratitude toward the instructors and community. The session closes with congratulations on certification and a warm farewell to the live audience.

Hello, and we are live. So welcome to those who are getting on now. For those of you who will come back and see the replay, be sure to put hashtag replay in the comments. Um, tonight I am so excited, I am so honored because, um, you guys get to hear from my students. You guys, those who have been a part of the recent cohort to become a certified Christian life coach.. And so of course I can share their stories all day, but it's better to hear from them, to see their faces, to see what they're doing, to see what God is doing through them and through their business and their ministry. Um, and so without further ado, I'm going to go ahead and get into it, and I'll allow them to, um, tell you their names, um, and then, um, where they're from. And just share one word that describes your journey as a life coach. My program. So first, we'll have Dr. Leslie go first.
Hi everyone, hi, hi, hi. I am so grateful to be here. My name is Dr. Leslie Gordon, um, I am from Cameron, North Carolina, and if I had to choose a word, it would be overcomer. And the reason I chose that word is because I had to push through a lot to get through this process. I had just recently finished my doctoral studies, and the ink wasn't even dry on the certificate yet when the Lord said, hey, this is what I need you to go and do. So I'm very grateful to be here. I'm excited for this journey. I'm excited for the path that the Lord put me on with Miss Shakeeta Torres. I love it. And yeah, that's me.
Yes, thank you for sharing. Okay, next we're going to have, um, Miss Kimberly. Can you hear us, Miss Kimberly? Because we can't see you. See you on camera.
You still can't see me?
Uh-uh.
And you have an echo.
Oh my goodness.
So if you are two different platforms with this link, it's gonna echo back.
Okay, so maybe you should go to somebody else Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Let me figure this out.
All right, next we have, uh, Miss, uh, Denise King. Uh, share with us your name. Well, your name is Denise King. Where you from? And one word to describe your journey in this program.
Hello, good evening. Thank you for tuning in and joining us. Um, as, uh, Sister Shakeeta Torres said, my name is Denise T. King. I'm a master's level social worker and licensed clinical social worker hailing from The Boogie Down Bronx. I mean, I serve the New York City tri-state area. I would say that the one word that I would say that summarizes my time as a Christian life coach in this program, getting through this program, is transformative. Definitely transformative. I chose that word because I entered this program one way as one type of professional, one type of follower of Christ, and left a better, more improved version of myself. So I definitely would say the word is transformative.
Yes, amen. Thank you for sharing. Um, and next we'll have, um, Miss Kya.
Hello, my name is Kya Horace, and I am also a licensed clinical social worker. I live in— And one word would be refreshing. This course for me was literally refreshing. Working in the mental health field already, learning Christian— how to be a Christian life coach has literally been just refreshing.
Amen. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.
Uh, so Miss Kimberly will be on in just a moment.
I'm, I'm here, but I don't know. Yeah, can you see me?
Yes.
Yes.
So you still hear the echo?
Yeah, I'm not gonna speak.
Okay, I'm sorry. My name is Kimberly Sanders. I am from New York City, Queens, New York. Uh, I have— this has been a great experience. Um, oh, you know, Denise said transformative. That was my word, and that's just our word, you know. We can share that word. It has been a great, amazing journey, um, and it hasn't just been, you know, me getting educated to help others, but me also being— getting educated and finding those tools to bring to my own circle, to help my own family, to strengthen all of the people in the Kingdom of God, you know, and those that are coming into the Kingdom of God. So it's just been an amazing experience. Uh, I would advise many to do this, to take this journey. Yes, I would.
Thank you for sharing. Can you put yours on mute?
Yes.
Okay, okay, okay. So I hope you guys can hear her. Uh, Miss Kimberly has been with me since January. She's been a part of like 3 of my other programs so far. Um, it's been a joy getting to know her and seeing her just like just grow, and I'm so excited for her. She's also a teacher in education system. And she has— oh my gosh, you guys, like their testimonies and what they have to offer the people they're going to be serving is just amazing. Her testimony alone would change your life. And so I'm just so grateful for her as well. You all sharing why you joined the program. So my next question would be, what made you guys say yes? And I'm asking that question is because a lot of times I have people who are drawn to me and they feel like the Lord is like leading them to, you know, join whatever I have— this program or a different program that I'm offering. Um, but sometimes certain things will stop them from coming. Like, it could be their time, it could be finances, it could be a number of things. So, uh, if you ladies don't mind, can you like share, you know, what was it that made you say, yes Lord, I'm going to take the leap of faith and begin this program?
And you can—
for me, it's a simple obedience. It was a simple obedience. It was, um, the Lord said, Leslie, I need you to do this. It doesn't matter that you just finished writing your dissertation.
It doesn't matter.
But you need to— I need you to complete this program. And when I reached out The program started the next day, but I knew that I needed to be in the program because of what the Lord told me. So it was out of simple obedience to God.
Mm-hmm.
I remember when you reached out to me, it was closed. I had closed the program. We were getting ready to start the next day. And when you reached out to me, you said, Shakeeta, you was like, the Lord told me to do it. And I heard the Holy Spirit tell me, let her in. Let her in. Okay, God.
Okay, I'll let her in. You did not hesitate at all.
You was like, okay, I know it's closed, but give me a second.
I'm going to reopen everything. And here you go.
And here I am now.
So I appreciate it.
Yes.
And you have been so faithful and so consistent in learning, and you were just so hungry. And I'm like, wow, God, like, she really wants to get all she can get. I mean, you got everything done. Like, you were done before everybody else was.
Because when you move out of obedience, you have to do what you're being told to do. There's no hesitations that should take place. When God says move, you move. Simple as that. And that's, that's how I am. I'm always going to be that way. So if it meant I needed to sit there and buckle up and listen to those lectures— but here's the other part to that. The lectures and the, the conversations that was in the lessons were so informative, and they were so, they were so, um, they touched every piece of everything. That I was going through. So it was like having a conversation with you, even though I knew that it was a class. So it wasn't a chore, it wasn't a task, it wasn't something that was hard to do. It was something I wanted to do, and it was helping me. Your pour helped me throughout this class. So I'm— yeah, I got it all done. If I could go again, I, I mean, I already go back and listen to replays, so I'm faithful at that.
You are, and I appreciate that. Listen, go ahead, go ahead, Kya.
Yeah, can I speak to that? Just the, the modules, because during this training, I actually— it was, we were kind of well into the training, I had actually got my first coaching client, right? And so that's how you know you're doing something right, God has called you to do, because it's like, wait, I'm not even going, and God is sending, you know, people. But what I really appreciate is Shakeeta, because I'm a different type of learner, okay? Like, I learned repetitively. So what I appreciate about how you created this course is it's not something you can just hear a lecture one time and then it's like, well, whatever you didn't get is lost. You can go back and watch the replays. And so when I actually got my first coaching client, I was actually able to go back into the modules, right, and look up the questionnaires, look up the lecture, and it guided me step by step, even though this was material we had already done, right? Because as you're learning, you're miss— you're not going to be able to catch everything, right? You may miss some things, but having the opportunity to have this material at your service whenever you need it, it made me feel like I was going step by step by step with my client and like I knew what I was doing. So I appreciate that.
Yeah, you're so welcome. Um, and you know, you guys know me, I'm passionate about things being structured and being in order and making it, um, very easy to digest.. And so that was the goal of my entire program, was any content I had, it was prerecorded. I wanted to be straight to the point, not like all over the place. And so, yeah, so people ask me all the time, so, you know, why your program and not this program? I'm like, really? I don't really know their program. I just know what kind of teacher I am. I know what God put on my heart when it comes to how he wanted me to structure, you know, everything. And as they say, we touch on everything from Holy Spirit counseling, hearing God's voice, how to hear God while you're talking to your client, and so so much more. Um, so who wants to go next? Is Miss Denise— you want to go next?
Sure. Um, the question was what made me say yes. So it wasn't so much that I said yes, it was that, like, like Dr. Leslie, uh, just the, the unction of the Holy Spirit. God had already introduced me to you years prior. And so it was just a time of transformation in my life where, where I had become closer to God, you know, in terms of what was I doing before I actually reconnected to your program, was just building that closer relationship in my walk with Christ, in that I was able to hear him more clearly in this junction to where it was like, do it now. You were the vehicle. God said, now. I didn't know why he was saying now. I was not thinking about pre-planning that I needed to create a life coaching business. That's not how it happened for me. For me, it was— I started getting your emails, I started reading your emails, and then the Lord was like, do it now, not next year. Don't wait, get signed up, join. And then through the whole process, which was very transformative, I'm at this junction right here. I'm getting flooded with ideas now about life coaching. I'm getting all of these— this inspiration. And I'm realizing God was preparing me for the pivot that I wasn't willing to take for myself. So it was just hearing the— being in a position to hear God say, do it now. And his word said his sheep hear his voice, a stranger will— they will not follow. And it was like, once you know it's God, it's— you just doing it.
I love it. Okay, so I have one more, like, question about the program for you all. Oh, Miss Kimberly, I'm sorry, you go ahead, you on camera now, go ahead. Unsituated. You sound good.
You know, this— what was the question again?
Um, what made you say yes? So you missed two questions. One was, um, what made you say yes? And then the other one— what was the other question?
Let me look.
One word to do— okay, you already said it. Never mind, you're good to go. The transformation was your one word. Um, and then what made you say yes?
Okay, what made me say yes is, you know, I've been following you for a minute, and because I've been a part of your other programs, you know, um, I just wanted to take that leap because, to be honest with you, I've been doing Christian life coaching but for, for a minute and not really knowing that's what I'm doing. And I said, you know, it's time to get the tools, it's time to get equipped. And it's time for, for the right teacher to train you, you know, because you can have a gift, but you don't nurture the gift, um, it's going to be a problem, you know. It's going to fall to the ground. So, you know, just, just being in your other programs, watching you, um, and how you encourage your students, you know, your students matter to you, and you know that they matter to God, and you take it very seriously.. And, um, I said, I said, Lord, I'm in the right hands. And you know what's funny? I asked you. You did. If you're going to do this again.
That ex pushing me because, you know, I had already did the Christian leadership at the beginning of the year. I was doing the Bible study at that time. You know, I have, you know, my family. I'm like, Lord, I am tired. I was like, Lord, I don't think I got it in me this year because it takes a lot of like marketing and, you know, getting everything together prior to even opening the program up. And so when you asked me, I said, oh Lord, I was like, she didn't ask me about the program. So I'm like, oh God. Then my bookkeeper, Shakeeta Torres, no ma'am, we running that program this year. I'm like, girl, listen. So I had many people asking about the program, so it kind of pushed me to go ahead and just like have it, right? And so I thank you for your push, Ms. Kimberly, and for always covering me in prayer for sure. And yes, y'all have blessed me so much. Y'all have no idea. And so my next question would be, how has this program stretched you all? Because a lot of times, okay, I'm asking because people will ask me, well, should I get certified or should I just start coaching? I get that question from folk all the time about that. So what would you say to a person saying, should I go through the program? Or should I, you know, go ahead and start coaching on my own?
I'm gonna say that you should go through the program. I really, I really say that. I say you should go through the program because it gives you the, um, talking points. It gives you the verbiage to use during your, during sessions and things of that nature. So it's— and then for me, the Lord said, I need you to be certified. So, you know, of active obedience again. But it gives you that, that verbiage that you need and to understand what you may have already been walking in fully. So I'm going to always say go through the class, specifically this particular class. Go through it. In fact, go register it.
Yes. Yes.
And so who wants to go next? So how has this program stretched you when it comes to coaching?
Oh, that's a good question. Okay. And then the question is, would you take the program? Right?
Yeah.
Like, go through it again if God told you to. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, so the program has definitely stretched me in that I'm already a licensed therapist and I've been in the field for nearly 30 years and I've been licensed for more than 2 decades. So I could have just literally become a life coach.
Sure could have.
And, uh, but I'm a credential person. I, I like to be trained. I like to have those titles behind my name. It's important to me. Um, but even with all of that, that really— the, the fact of attending this program was more to me than just those credentials and just the training. It was the spiritual aspect of it. Because we are specializing in Christian life coaching, it is imperative that we ourselves are able to get to a place spiritually where we're ready to help individuals get there as well. Right. So when you say, how does it stretch you? It's pushed me beyond where I thought I was at to where I need to be right now and continue to seek to grow more because it asks those thought-provoking questions in the Anointed to Coach niche series, a series of Anointed to Coach books. So it, it asked me those thought-provoking questions. It opened up discussion to where I could actually start to look at myself and ask those same questions and then go to God. So it's very God-centered. So it had me not so much in a class just learning a lot of logic, but rather giving me those, in those interactions, those moments to where I could tap in spiritually to then grow in that. So definitely I would say it gives the credential, yes, and it gives the knowledge, but more than that, it is spiritually based. So it was able to feed that part of what I needed to be better at what I do as a Christian life, life coach. So yes, I agree.
And I always say this too, is that we can only take our clients as far as we, as we are, right? And so as long as we are continuing to grow, we're leaving room to help our clients to get to new heights and new levels, right? And you know, I can think about myself over time, like I've been able to— God has been able to continue to like elevate me, elevate me, because I am submitted process. You know, we all have to go through our own journey and allow God to prune us and process us and prepare us for the next, right?
Amen.
If you're not doing that, you're going to become stagnant, which in turn can cause your client to be stagnant as well. Okay.
Amen. That's right.
I know for sure my audience has changed gradually over the years based off of my own growth, right? Um, well, thank you all for sharing. Um, Kya, do you have anything you want to share about that, about about the program stretching you in any way?
Oh, absolutely. But for me, it was more so like a refreshing stretch. Yeah. Because with coaching— and that's why I would say, even if you are a mental health professional, if you believe God has called you to coach, I definitely recommend this course because it's different. And what was so refreshing about this, Shakeeta Torres, is you teach how to coach your clients through Christ. You teach how to— yes, coach clients spiritually, how to listen to God, hear God's voice, and like you said, be able to evaluate yourself and where you are. Because as you were saying, you can only coach your clients based on where you are, right, yourself. So I will highly just recommend people, even if you are a licensed therapist, okay, because it's just going to give you confidence and it's It's two totally separate things.
It is. That's right.
That's the beauty also of having you teach is because you are also a licensed therapist, right? And therapy is more long-term, whereas coaching, it's dependent upon the client, your coaching clients. But it varies. And you will know this through learning this information. So I just think it's necessary. And you want an instructor who hears God. Right? You don't want to be learning from someone who don't hear from God themselves. And that's something I appreciated by taking— God would begin to speak to you, Shakeeta, and you would give us all words that God had already been speaking different things to us, but it was like he was layering it and giving it more and more. And then we would come and refresh each other, like God was in this, okay?
Yes, he was.
Yes, he was.
He breathe on all of us. Like, this why I'm like, I know, you know, we all are professional, we all have families, we all work, right? We have our own things going on. And so, you know, I definitely get that refreshing too. And like, I could be about to get on with you all, I'm like, whoa God, I am so tired, Lord. And he— and then he just give me a fresh wind so I could be, you know, ready for you all. So I'm dependent on God always. Everything that I do, I'm dependent on him. And there's no shame in that. And I'm not gonna act like I know everything because I don't, but, um, but God does. That's what I've learned. But God does, right?
Shakeeta Torres is gonna stretch you.
Yes.
Okay, she's gonna ask you questions. She's like, okay, okay, how is this? Okay, because we're doing it for the kingdom, but okay, God, okay, how we bless the people if we don't You get a little staticky, a little staticky, Kaya.
I can hear you, but it's like staticky.
Okay, what about now?
Yeah, that's— I think that's better.
Okay, okay. But I was just saying, basically, you helped us with so many things, but understanding our value, our niche, and just—
yes.
And can I just piggyback in just a second? Just a quick thing to say. It came to me in a kind of like a joking way. As licensed professionals, we always get our CEUs, our continuing education units, right? For— and we get these trainings. But do we upgrade on our spiritual, uh, side of things? I mean, this is our spiritual CEO, you, okay? Uh, that's how I saw it. All right, that just came to me. Yes, get your spiritual CEO, okay? Because it's, it's like that extra boost there. Yeah, for sure. I just have to say that.
Yeah.
And I will share this too, you know, there's some great programs out there and, you know, but the Lord was showing me and telling me, you know, in secret, he was because like there's so many programs here that say they're Christian-based, but most of them don't include me, the Holy Spirit, right? So they have the title, they have that, you know, that name, but like they're not digging in the depths in the— of who God is and really how to coach hearing from him and using your, your gifts that God has given you to be able to reach his people. And one thing I love about coaching, for me, like, you know, coaching y'all and teaching y'all, but also seeing my clients, is that It's, it's like, it's like, it's like a two-way thing, y'all. It's like it sharpens me, but also it's sharpening you at the same time. That makes sense. So it's like you're gonna receive so much joy and so much just, uh, like there's so much freedom being able to pour from a place where you have grown from, right? Being able to pull from, um, tools that are going to really truly, you know, help your client. Because I'm all about strategy, okay? What's the strategy? All right, okay, what the root? Like, that's how I am. Um, and so, you know, I— y'all, I can keep going on and on and on. If anybody's on live right now, if you have any questions for the ladies, um, please, um, put them in the chat. Let me go check. I haven't even checked the chat yet, y'all. I'm so sorry.
Okay.
Oh yeah, we got a lot of comments, y'all. We got a lot of comments.
I'm sorry, y'all. Can y'all hear me while y'all checking the chat? Yeah, you know I know I'm having a little technical difficulty, but I'm determined because this circle, even though it's a couple of us here, I think this has been the most powerful, one of the most powerful circles I've ever been a part of. As I was writing down some of the responses to the question, I said that we use a circle of prayer, share, and bear burdens.
I love that.
And I, you know, I mean, we really did. Like, the prayers, the Holy Spirit led. That's Shakeeta Torres Torres. It has to be Holy Spirit led, and she's allowed the Holy Spirit to lead, and she led by example. You know, being in this course, you want a teacher that's not afraid to, um, do teach you and teach by example and be transparent. And have testimony, and that allows you to trust, that allows you to open up, that allows you to fix some things that we might have thought were unfixable. And, or, you know, so this was, this was this kind of course. This was amazing. It was fruitful. It was rich. You know, it's— I'm still amazed at the richness of it, the content. You, you cannot say you can't learn from here. I mean, it's, it's overflowing, you know. So that's what I want to do. That's what I wanted to add.
Yeah, thank y'all so much. Thank y'all. Thank y'all so much. And I did, I put my heart and soul into it. I really did. Oh, I love doing things in excellence. I really do. Um, let me see. So people up here shouting you guys out, saying to Dr. Leslie, say, hey, so proud of you. Um, it's Kimberly Um, for those of you who are saying I want to get certified, um, I do have 2 slots open, um, just, um, for one-on-one, uh, for those who need to get certified and trained. Okay, then I also have Anointed to Coach, um, that is for those who are already certified or already doing life coaching and you need to launch. Okay, the Lord has been showing me for about 3 years now, about 3 years, that there's so many coaches here who've been certified but has not launched. Okay. And so anointed coach has different tiers to it, and it's designed to help you to, like, really have that solid foundation. Without a solid foundation, your house will crumble. Okay. And so what I mean by that, if you don't have clarity about who you're called to, if you don't have clarity about your coaching style, if you, um, you know, don't have the confidence, right, if you're operating in doubt, right, like, you're going to get clarity in all those areas and so much more. Okay, when I show up to, to meet with, um, each, each week with them, I didn't know what God was going to do. Okay, I came, I had an agenda, we went over, you know, the content. They had any questions about what we went over, you know, throughout each module, then I'm like, Holy Spirit, have your way. And he did, because he knew what they needed, you know. Um, it's the same for every cohort I have, is never the same.. And so like, they are like family now, you know, we check on each other, we checking in, right? How are things going? We still have the Facebook community that you'll still be, um, um, be a part of that kind of check in and see where you are because I want to see you launch. God wants to see you launch, but he wants to see you do it his way, not your way. Okay? Like surrender, like surrender your certification to him, surrender your timeline to him. But they'll be saying, hey, life is happening, I can't do it.
Guess what?
She had life happening, she had life happening, she had life happening, she had— I had life happening, right? But we obey the Lord, and sometimes you will be stuck in a situation, and until you obey God, you're gonna be right there.
Yeah, Shakeeta Torres Torres, even when I had to go back and listen to the replays, I— well, for one, I, I missed, you know, a few class— well, quite a few classes, but I felt like I was still a part of the group, the sisterhood. Because when I would go back and rewatch the replays, I just felt the Holy Spirit still within the group, within the conversation. And that's one thing that I absolutely loved about the conversations. Yes, you had an agenda. It was pretty. It was so pretty, right? It was so informative. But when the Holy Spirit took over each and every class, we knew then that this was something beyond what was on a piece of paper. This was something beyond what we even could fathom in a square box on those Zoom calls. So I'm grateful that I was able to, you know, join in even if I couldn't physically be there every single time. I felt bad sometimes, but I was glad that I still felt a part of this sisterhood. And I thank each and every one of you for you know, your pours, because every one of you have poured into me. The last class, I was like, Denise, hey girl, yeah, this is awesome. So I'm amazed at how God transformed us all from that first class to look at us now.
Like, here we are.
And you listen, you guys, they already got clients already, some of them. I know— well, all y'all do, to be honest. Um, and so Dr. Leslie has a coaching client, right? You want to share a little bit more about that?
You want me to share more? So I just had someone to come and say, hey, this is what I'm looking for, can you help me? And I said, absolutely. I'm pretty sure this person had no idea that I was even going through the program, but that's how, um, divine everything was set up to be, because this person did not know that I was going through this program and reached out. So yeah, packets ready, Dates are set, let's go.
And you were able to go back to the program to pull what you needed because it was all there for you.
It was very detailed, everything that you will need to develop your packet, um, to understanding what the verbiage in the packet means. Because I'm not from the mental health field, I'm from the education field, and so a lot of the verbiage was— is different. It may mean the same, but I know it as something else. I know about emotional intelligence, that type thing. So to have these worlds combine or collide like this is just a divine connection. And I know if I ever have anything that needs to happen in the mental health world, I have 4 ladies on this call that I can call and say, hey, what's going on?
Yes, yes, yes.
And I love— once again, she had her whole doctorate degree. Okay? She already finished her program. She was done. Until God told her, hey, go get certified next.
I was like, wow, he wasn't even dry. He said the eat wasn't even dry. He wasn't even dry. But he said, I need— he said, you already do the work, I need you to be certified in it. And it was my apostle that actually told me a while back, she said, you may not be, you know, big on these titles and all this stuff, she said, but sometimes you need those to open up the door that the Lord needs you to go through. And nobody's going to listen to, uh, just a Leslie Gordon, but they'll listen to a Dr. Leslie Gordon. So sometimes I'm not big on titles and stuff like that, but sometimes you need it to get in there. And the Lord said, I need you to be certified in what you are already walking and doing.
That's right, that's right.
I love it, I love it. Who want to go next? I see, I can see her face is like— I see Miss Cuba, you got something to say?
No, that's just good. I'm sorry, it's just Everything Dr. Leslie is saying, totally agree.
Yes, yeah, yeah. Miss Kimberly, anything that you want to say?
Can you hear me?
I'm sorry, you sound good, you sound good, good, good.
Um, you know, I'm an educator too, and you know, also a track coach in the athletic field, and you know, just been around a lot of up young ladies and people. And, you know, this is important. I think this is important for churches to, uh, invest in because, you know, we have to come a different way. Well, you know, mental health is a, is a big issue now, and not like it wasn't before, but after COVID, I really believe that we need the tools and we need to equip ourselves to be able to identify what, what our people are what our people need. You know, I think we spoke about this, and I think we were talking in class, and Shakeeta Torres made it very clear that some deliverance is instant and some is progressive. And you know, some, it's going to be a journey, and we need to be able to equip ourselves to assist people on the journey.
Yes.
You know, and to be encouraged and to encourage them. So, you know, just You know, getting certified, it equips you. It equips you to, to answer God's call on your life, to deposit the Holy Spirit, to help them get the Holy Spirit in their lives and keep the deliverance. The problem is sometimes people get delivered or they feel like they're delivered, but how are they— are they keeping it? How do you maintain your deliverance? What's the beautiful So we need to be able to, to help our people, and not just our people, we need to be able to help God. We are here to help God's people. Everybody's God's people, whether they have, whether they have God or not. That's our objective, to get them to follow Jesus and to get them to live a healthier, um, wonderful God, Holy Spirit-led life. So equipping, equipping ourselves is an amazing responsibility, and it's something that we should be proud of and we should invest in. And, you know, we spoke about this in class. We invest in clothes, we invest in it, we invest in vacations, we invest in— but do we invest in, uh, getting ourselves educated, getting the tools? You know, and your program is, like I said, it, it was mind-blowing to me, the richness of it. The availability. You know, we don't have stuff for life that we can go to. Amazing. There's nothing that says, oh, after 6 months this is gonna dissolve. Yeah, no, we're gonna have it for life. We could go back and look at the replay again. We could go back and we could go back, and it's our replay. It's for us. It's for y'all. Yes, it's for us because we get into some areas that, honey, That's why I'm telling you, that, that we, we were delivered out of some stuff.
Yes.
So I believe this is important. It's overdue. It's something God is calling many people to do. Get equipped and let's go, because he's coming back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're welcome. And you know, he definitely releasing another wave of harvest, you know, ahead because of what the world is headed to. And, you know, I know like during COVID it happened and people will be thinking that, oh, well, anybody spending no money. That's not true. People are spending money. Look at, look at them. They came, they spent their money. Look at Miss Dr. Leslie, she got her client, he paying her, okay? And then they got folks, they got lined up, right? It's coming. That God already sending to them as well, you know, as they continue to like launch out and do what God's calling them to do in their coaching, okay? And then too, I want you guys to remember, this is for you all and those of you who are watching, when you look at income and when it comes to making funds in your business, there's so many things you can do just from that one niche. You can create workbooks, you can do speaking topics, you can do a podcast. There's so many different ways to do that because oftentimes people don't want to niche down. And I know we put a great deal of time on that, right? I kept asking y'all every week, what's your— yes, what's your niche? Who you talk to? We need clarity because yes, I want you guys to finish the program not really knowing what that is and you lost.
Yeah, but I'm glad that you did focus on that because you know how I came in. I came in like, I'm doing this, this, this, and this. You were like, that's okay, but you know what, let's, let's bring that in. So I'm glad that you gave us a focal point to say, okay, you really need to focus on who your target audience is and what that is going to look like versus being all over the place. And I have to say, you were right.
Yes, I'm really good at— you know, the Holy Spirit will highlight stuff to me. He will speak to me. And I've been, you know, very delicate. And I've been, uh, with you all in that area. I'm like, okay, you guys, like, I know what God is saying.
But I want—
what did God say to you? Okay, because you need to make sure that you're sure.
Yeah, and you, you actually took it to another level with me.
Uh-oh, your audio is acting up again, Kaya, and this is so good. You want to get off and then get back on? I think that might help. Miss Kimberly had to do that. She had to get off and get back on. Um, who wants this? Okay, so it's talking about the niche. Okay, so what did she get back on? So do you guys see the comments up here? I had to make sure I show everybody comment. They were shouting you all out.
Yes, man, we saw.
Okay, good, good. Do you guys have any questions so far? Who are those who are on live? Be sure to put them in the, um, chat and, uh, we'll be happy to answer them. Um, and so when Kaya come on and say what she has to say, I want them to share with you all what their niche is, what they're doing in their business and their ministry. Um, we also clarified that business and ministry is not the same. It can't overlap, okay? But business is where you have to make a financial income to sustain your business, to sustain your life. Okay, because you working hard to build. And then the ministry part is what is it, you know, you know, that you're doing pretty much for free. Um, and it can't overlap, but it does need to be a clear distinction. I struggle with that myself, so I'm speaking from my own experience too, okay? And once I got clarity around what that was, things shifted for me. Oh, it shifted for me. Um, and so yeah, and so when you have that structure, the system, the strategy um, those things in place, it makes it a lot easier for you to say, okay, this is what I charge for this, this is what I'm doing. It's like, you know, primarily this ministry, right? Um, so yeah, so Kaya was talking about the niche. So you want to share about more about that, sis?
Yes. And I'm so sorry for my connection. Hopefully you can hear me. Yeah, pretty frozen, but you can hear me. So that's something that you did with me, Shakeeta. It's like I knew the people that God was calling me to work with, but I didn't completely understand how to communicate and, and connect with those people so that they would know, okay, this is someone that can help me. And that's something that you really stretched me on. It's like, okay, you know your niche, you know who you're supposed to work with. Now how do you communicate with them and let them know, hey, I can help you with this?
Mhm.
Yes. And so with that being said, Who are you called to? Like, who you think you're called to? And, um, where are you at when it comes to your coaching?
So is that question for me first?
Yes.
Okay, so I am actually called to individuals that are in transition. So if you are in transition that God has led you into, I would love to be your Christian life coach.
And when you say transition, transition from what to what?
It could be work, it could be personal, spiritual, um, just a transition in your life that you know God has led you to. And I know it may feel strange because I've been there. Yes, I would love to work with you.
Awesome. Okay, who wants to go next?
I'll say that.
Oh, go, go ahead.
No, go ahead, Dr., Dr., uh, Leslie, go ahead. I'll follow after you. Thank you.
I would say that I'm called to specifically new leaders in churches and ministry, um, just because I was new and no, I didn't have a lot, but I had some. So I feel like I'm— I know that I'm called to the, the new leaders that, you know, you don't have to be in this box You can think outside the box, you can maneuver. But also the ones that they hear God, but they're like, is that my conscience or is that the Holy Spirit speaking to me? Am I supposed to say this now or am I supposed to say this later? So that's where, that's where I am. Um, I, I love working with leadership. I mean, I got a whole doctorate degree in it, so I love working with leaders. So, um, I just want to build up leaders. For the kingdom of God.
From what I hear you saying, you were saying too that you also train them prophetically how to really hear the Lord, right? Because I said I hear exactly what you're saying. And so, but also they're getting that life stuff, like dealing with their heart, right? Things that are preventing them from being confident and really hearing the Lord and being able to discern what that is.
Because a lot of times the younger leaders, they're like, I, I know I hear from God but I don't know how to move. I don't know, I don't know what to do when I hear from him. I don't know if I'm supposed to speak now or hold, hold it. So those are the little things that, um, even— I know it's, it's not coaching, but even down to working—
it is coaching, it is coaching.
So even working the altar, you need to know when to touch, when not to touch, when to step in, when not to step in, when to dab. I mean, you, you got to know all these things, and it's all about discernment and following with the Holy Spirit. So that's where I fall in at.
Yeah, and you helping them get there faster and avoid the mistakes that maybe you've made, things you learned along the way. And, you know, so yeah, that's, that's amazing, Dr. Leslie. That's amazing. That's amazing. Um, and where— what's your website and social media handles?
So my website is justlesministries.com. And that's my Facebook, that's my, um, TikTok, that is my Instagram. Um, also, and on YouTube is justlessministries.com.
Okay, okay. And make sure if you can put it in the chat when you get a chance to, because you never know, somebody might come back and watch this replay or might be on now and they might need what you have. Okay, you too, Kaiya. If you do have, um, your Calendly links, you can was in there as well. Um, real quickly, somebody asked me about how to— so earlier I was saying that, um, I have two slots for those who interested in becoming certified like they are. Um, I put the link in the comment section here in the chat. But then I also have Anointed to Coach. Um, that is a program that is for those who are already certified who have not launched yet or looking to relaunch. Um, meaning that they, you know, have a vision, God spoken to you about being a coach, but you just feel like you don't know what you're doing. In a nutshell. So that program helps you, um, to do that. So if you have any other questions about that, just let me know. Um, and once again, I put it in the comment section for you all to visit the page, um, to learn more about that. Okay, so who wants— so Denise, you're next.
So I learned a lot through this, uh, this cohort and this certification that, um, God is pulling me in different directions when it comes to A, ministry. B, uh, my, my, uh, business as a licensed therapist. And then C, as a certified life coach.
Yeah.
So being able to tease those out in 3 different niches was incredible. And through, you know, reading and talking with you and all of this, it brought me there. So my, uh, life coaching business is in regards to grief and loss. Uh, I'm called to helping people restore after a period of time when they've been through the upheaval of change that's happened due to grief and loss. And that can also include, um, losses that have come about through veering, steering away from the Lord and then coming back to the Lord, and life has changed significantly as a result of that. So there's a lot of grieving that can happen for someone. A lot of times we hear in churches, you know, yes, people don't really talk about the adolescence of being a child of God, right? So there's a lot of adolescence that go on where sometimes there's a period of There's a period of change and resistance, and there may have been some mistakes that have been made during that time, and as a result, there are consequences, right? A lot of things may have been overturned and upset as a result of that, and a lot of losses. And then there's the actual loss of life that we go through when we lose loved ones, people that we care about, and we don't know how to reclaim our life after that. After that. Um, so I'm commissioned to be a support and a strength to individuals who want to rebuild, and God has just been overflowing in ideas. Um, I have my domain and everything. I would just say stay tuned, uh, to selasoulstudio.com. Um, and there's more to come with that. If you would like, if you know someone you're interested in that aspect of my certification, life coaching, you can reach out to me by email for now until I get everything up and running. It's info@soulstudio.com. Okay, um, and my ministry is also something on the side. I just wanted to share it though. If you're interested in my ministry also, when it comes to, um, connecting with individuals who are struggling within the body of Christ and they want to strengthen themselves because they're under oppressive attacks and they just need to be able to connect with another believer and be able to be strengthened, definitely can reach out to me at that same email. Okay. And then I'm also a licensed therapist and I'm working on my business as a licensed therapist. And that's where God had me pivot through this certification to step out on a leap of faith and do that on my own rather than being in the oppressive— as you guys know what it could be oppressive in terms of working for someone else. So, um, if you have any questions, want to know more, please reach out to me. I also will be in the directory that Shakeeta has on her site. You can find me there if you want to find out later on down the line where I'm at. Thank you, Shakeeta, for this platform.
Also, you're so welcome. And when you get a chance, if you can, you can also put it in the, um, chat. And if you don't have it right now, you can always go back on the video. Um, I don't, I don't mind that at all. Um, and so next we will have, uh, Miss Kimberly.
Yes, I'm here. Yes, my niche is— and this has been really good for me, and, um, it's time to just come on out and say it— is for those people that have been affected and hurt by leaders, leaders, people in authority. People that have raised you, parents, um, people that have been church hurt by pastors and, you know, choir directors. Um, and I, I know that God is sending me in this direction because, uh, my testimony is definitely down this alleyway. My family was, was severely affected by, uh, back in the '70s all the way into the probably the top '80s, but probably the end of the '70s by leadership in churches. Um, and you know, there's, there's still some things that go down the line, and I realized that because we got out of the— that scene didn't mean that we weren't affected. There was residue, there was a lot of healing that needed to take place. Um, so I think it's important that men and women of God and people that are, are are just coming into the, the path of Christ need to know that some stuff needs to come off of you. Just because you feel good doesn't mean that things don't come back up. Um, there are daughters that are having issues with their moms. There are, there are moms having issues with their daughters. Oh, okay. You know, families have issues, and I know it's a very sensitive topic, but I think it's something that needs to be addressed. Um, there's a lot of abuse. Spiritual abuse is real. And a lot of people want to follow God, and unfortunately they start following the leader instead of following the word of God. And we need to follow the word of God. And we— people also need to be— need to understand you need to be under a leader that loves you, that knows— that know— that realize and understand that there's a call on your life. And they need to be able to, to push you towards the call that God has for you. So, you know, that is my, my niche. Uh, we need to heal for real. We really need to heal, and we need to go and get what everything that God has for us. Um, this has been a great opportunity. You can reach me at kcst72@gmail. You can find me on Facebook Um, I'm there under Kimberly Sanders on, on WOW Empowerment. Um, so you can find me, you can inbox me and all those things. So please, kcssp72@gmail, you can reach me there. Thank you, Shakeeta Torres. Thank you for allowing me to share.
You're so welcome, you're so welcome. Um, and thank you all for sharing that, you all. And once again, Miss Kimberly, you put in the chat too as well, like Miss Denise just did. I have one more question I, that I'm seeing from a couple of people. So they're asking me, is this program, um, an evidence-based module, or is it a program that I created? So it's both, okay? So I am a, um, certified coach trainer, meaning that I went through a program where they certified me and trained me to coach, but the program was missing so much to me, so I had to literally go back and create parts of the program myself from scratch, okay? They gave me the base, the basic stuff to become a life coach, which is what you get when you go to other programs out here. But you know, you get the basic assessments, right? Intake, right? All that stuff is basic. When you start to really begin to dig deeper into the things of God and how to coach your clients, and you know, it's, it's just robo-shy. Everything you heard them say, you've already— you've heard it, right? They also want to know, is it evidence-based practice? So keep in mind that coaching and therapy is not the same. Therapy is evidence-based practice, okay? But coaching is not necessarily based on that. They may use CBT, cognitive behavior therapy, and also MI, motivational interviewing, to help your clients, right? But it's definitely different than therapy, okay? You can coach anywhere. Any place, anytime. There's no jurisdiction. All right, with being a therapist, there is. We have so many different guidelines, laws we have to go by. But they were saying earlier, because I'm both a therapist and a life coach, I bring so much more to the program than the average life coach would. So hopefully that answered your question. Um, does anybody want to say anything to that who are therapists, Denise or Kaya, about evidence-based practices?
Oh yes, I'm glad you asked that question, whoever asked that question. I actually asked that question, um, when I first started. And the thing is that the, the program provides a lot of references to evidence-based practice.
Yes.
So, um, what I didn't realize prior to this was that life coaches can actually use some of that in order to kind of hone their skills in order to, on, on the basic level, be able to connect with a client. Yeah, they will not be providing therapy, but it provides the, the life coach insight and some knowledge that they can then say, okay, this person may actually need a therapist, um, or actually to be able to use some of the skills to be better, be able to speak to an individual in an appropriate, more professional and skilled way. So there's some techniques that can still be borrowed from therapeutic practice, but it's not therapy, if that provides any clarity to answering the question. But yeah, excellent question. Um, and I think also because of that question, you know, uh, what is, you know, what's actually guiding us and what we do as life coaches, there is that, that, uh, Anointed to Coach series that helps to guide the mind of the life coach, you know, whether it be through just practical skills as well as Christian-led, you know, skills.
So yeah, absolutely.
And I would like to speak to the spiritual aspect, the faith part, um, because I know as far as therapeutic modules, when I was in grad school, it wasn't in depth as far as like the spiritual, the Christian, because you're going to clients who are Christians, right? That's right. And I just felt like I didn't get enough training on the— that spiritual aspect when it comes to my master's in social work. I got it when it comes to therapeutic modules, but not spirituality. Whereas with this coaching service that Shakeeta Torres has created, this coaching training is faith-based. So I got that, and it's, it's a foundational component that I needed for coaching. That I have. Because faith, from what I've learned, Shakeeta, that's the foundation of this coaching that we'll be doing with our clients. It will be faith-based, right?
Right. I like that. I like that, Kaya. Yeah, uh, it is— instead of seeing it as, um, uh, based on studies that were done, we're basing it on the word of God. And then using practical skills that cross different interdisciplinary areas that anyone can use if they want to be a professional in terms of being able to communicate effectively, listen effectively, respond appropriately, and things of that nature. So it's well-rounded.
Thank you all for being so thorough. That was good. Thank y'all, I appreciate that. Yes, hopefully to answer your question, um, to those of you who are asking, um, if you have any more questions, um, please feel free. We're going to get ready to wrap up in a few minutes. I know they got things to do. We're going to almost an hour now, um, and so does anyone else have anything they want to share before we, um, get ready to end on tonight? And if not, it's okay. Y'all shared a lot. Thank you.
Thank you for your willingness. Thank you for your push. Thank you for your pour. I appreciate you. I thank you for your obedience. So thank you so much for this program. And I'm— I know for sure, I'm already eyeing another program that you, you got posted, so I'm pretty sure we're gonna connect another way.
But yes, you're so welcome. You're so— also, also have, um, courses you can take, um, Grief and Faith. I had one on anxiety, um, I'm— I have some more to create and I'll get to that probably, probably beginning of next year. So I have a lot of programs you can actually take to become certified in different areas too. So if you're already a life coach but like want more training in a particular area, I have those too. For example, a lot of coaches, um, come to my program but took the one to be a certified anxiety specialist, and they loved it. Like, that was like the most— the one that's like purchased the most. And, um, it's very robust as well and gives you the blueprint of how to really help a client to navigate anxiety. As you know, it's really big, um, you know, in just in the world, and it's so needed to, um, have the language and the skills to be able to help clients to navigate anxiety, you know, when it comes up. So I do have that. So again, um, for those who are live, thank you again for coming on, for hanging in there. Y'all are hanging in there, okay? Um, I'm gonna again check the chat for the link for, uh, the program. If you scroll to the bottom, there's 2 slots for those who want to become a certified Christian life coach. If you're already a life coach, you need more clarity, um, I have different tiers that I'm offering for that, um, to really help you to, to launch out, to launch out, um, and it's a simple blueprint, simple blueprint that a lot of people are missing who are all over the place and they don't really know what to do. So that's what I'm here to do. Okay. I'm going to coach, be this coach and mentor. All right. So I'm going to get to chat one more time. Someone commented. Yeah. Awesome. Yeah. Thank you so much, Cheryl. So, um, yeah, if you have any questions, um, just feel free to send me an email. Um, I'll put my email in here. I don't mind. Um, coaching@shakeetatorres.com. That is my email if you have any questions.
Can I respond to someone in the chat? They said life— they interested but life is happening. I want you to know that, you know, definitely seek the Lord on that because it's a paid self-paced, and life has been happening throughout the whole time I was in this program. But I thank God that I kept on tuning in going in, being there, and then being able to read when I'm able to read. And that's the beautiful thing about it. You can go back, you can watch the videos if you can't attend class, um, you could still benefit from the program. I just want to encourage, you know, if there's a discouraging thought that maybe you can't do it because life is lifing, I just want to encourage you that that it was lifing for me too. It remains lifing, but I came out better than I was when I went in. Uh, had it not been for the Lord urging me, do it now, I probably would have not done it because of my life lifing, to be honest. But I'm glad I, I pressed through that, and I'm benefiting from it as a result. So I just want to encourage you with that.
And we all have different things going on. Miss Kimberly had things come— look, Miss Kimberly had things that come up, right? But she'll be— she'll be— whatever she got going on, she still be on. I'm here, I'm here, y'all.
You know, I think that's something you need to expect. Yeah, you know, like when you're trying to— when you're going towards something that God is going to make you better, elevate you, um you're gonna have pushback, you're gonna have challenges, you know. Yeah, it was a little— there was a lot going on with me. I'm sorry. Shakeeta Torres Torres knows that. And, and the thing about it, and, and, you know, just like life is lifing right now, the thing about it is, you know what, we have to keep pushing through, we have to keep cover to each other. We had to be in places. We just had to be in different places and make it happen, you know.
I got my— my big deliverance was in my vehicle, if I may say so. I wasn't sitting at— I wasn't sitting at my desk in front of my camera. I was holding my tablet in my hand it behind my steering wheel. It was parked, I wasn't driving, but I just want to make sure that you know that's how imperfect things can be at times when God chooses to move in the imperfect. You know, he said, and it, you know, our weakness, he's stronger. So yeah, I just want to say that. Yeah, that's all. But thank you all for tuning in and listening to our stories, and, and again, thank you, Shakeeta Torres, for allowing us to be able to share this.
Yes, you're so welcome. You're so welcome. And I'll add one more thing. Um, the very first thing I told them in the program, I'm like, you know, expect some kind of resistance. Um, everybody's journey is different. And you know, I'm used to warfare. Like, every time I told Miss Kimberly I'm getting ready to launch something, I experience warfare and opposition. Um, but actually it's been getting better for me, y'all. Praise God. Hallelujah.
Thank you, Jesus. Thank God.
Thank God for is hallelujah.
But you know, there was a time when it was very, very, very intense. I mean, I'm talking about sick, voice going out, everything, all of the above, right? Preventing me from launching the program the first time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mhm. But it was worth it. It was worth the warfare for me. I'll do it all over again, um, just to be able to pour into these ladies. Amen.
Amen. I agree. You know what, I just want to thank you again I think I want to thank all of y'all, you know, this is a great team, this is a really powerful team. I just want to thank you for showing up despite what was going on, you know, being there for us, all of us, you know, we were— we really poured into each other. Yeah, and it was a great— that was one of my favorite moments to see Denise peace that day that, that breakthrough happened. And it was, it was, it lets you know that coaching— my people perish for the lack of knowledge— is real. Yeah, yeah. So, so it was amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Yes, you're so welcome. And I'll speak again to those of you who are saying, because like, this is the, this is what I keep hearing for the, the program I'm doing now for Learn to coach is, okay, do I need to— Tier 1, which addresses the confidence, addresses your needs, addresses your coaching style, uh, talk about your one-on-one offer, how to structure your stuff. Like, oh, I already have that. I'm telling you, it's, it's going to give you more clarity. Everybody wants to jump to Tier 2 and bypass all that part and just do the marketing, the business, um, you know, have all that but baby, you need all of it, okay?
All of it.
Yes.
Okay. And then Miss Kimberly, that's your Facebook page, Miss Kimberly, that you see— you put in here, the facebook.com/share?
Yes. Okay, okay.
So this one's Kimberly Facebook page. And Miss Denise, you have a YouTube page, right? It's your— for your ministry?
I'm working on all of those fronts right now, but they'll find out more. I think I plan to join join your, um, directory. Okay, yeah, yeah, that'll be an opportunity to share those things all together.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, for sure, for sure. Alrighty then, so if all hearts and minds are clear, um, we're going to end. Um, again, thank you for those who came on live. If you have any other questions, feel free to put it in the comment of the video or just shoot me an email and, um, I'll be happy to answer your questions. Um, the link is in the chat as well. Um, purpose to the two programs. Um, and yeah, and so meet the new life coaches that came from Empower Purpose Academy. They are anointed to coach, y'all. They are anointed to coach, you hear me? And let me say this too, let me say this too. It was my job to sow and water seeds that were already there, okay? And so my job was to pull out what was already in them, okay? God is the one to get the increase, not me.
Amen.
Amen. Amen.
Glory.
No, full, right? And I just helped them to pull some more stuff out, okay? Um, so yes, and so we're all on different levels and we all have different understandings, and God is just— he's just so amazing. Like, the simp— yeah, it's just, uh, so amazing. So I'll definitely miss meeting with them. I really will. I really will. Um, yeah, yeah, I, I just been in awe. And, um, thank you all. What— and what helped me too to keep pushing is that y'all honor for me, that y'all appreciate it, you know, what, you know, I was providing, and you guys had no problem with investing in, in it, right? I had no issues with you making your payment. I ain't have to chase you down. I said, God, this is amazing. I was like, God, thank you. Because in the past, I'm having to like, hey, like, you know, you, you behind on your payments, right? I want to keep you in the program, but I can't keep you in the program. You ain't making your payments, right? Um, so as an entrepreneur side of me, the business side of me, y'all made that part easy. So, um, thank y'all for that. I appreciate that. All right, then.
