Hey, you guys, welcome back to my podcast. And so today's episode is all about some updates. First, I want to explain to you more about the podcast subscription and how that works. I know for some people that is very new and they may be curious about it. I know a lot of my listeners that I do have are not on social media, and so I do want to come up here and just describe it and explain it to you a little bit more in detail to see if it'll be a good fit for you. So first and foremost, if you love podcasts, guess what? You're going to love the podcast subscription, okay? It is going to be lit. It is going to be fire. Um, I shared in a recent episode about how, um, maybe about a week or so ago, which is heavy on my heart to create like a lot of content. I'm like, God, I feel this, um, burden— not in a bad way, a good burden— to create a lot of content. And so God was like, okay, yes, I'm pretty much putting that pressure on you to create more content, but sit with me on it and get vision for it. And so at that moment, I just wrote it down. I was doing something else at the moment, so I really couldn't really press into that to hear what God was saying. So in the past couple days, I really just been sitting down brainstorming, trying to figure out what's the best way to do this and present it to you all. And so I definitely got some more clarity and what that looks like. And so, as you know, the podcast subscription right now is very low. People tell me, Shakeeta, it's too low. I think it should be more because you bring so much value to people in their lives and transformation, all that good stuff. And I do. But I also understand, too, this is something new people need to try out to see if they even like it. And so right now, the price is low. In the future, I don't know what's going to happen. God might tell me not to change it. And to be honest, you know, in the beginning he just told me to charge what you want to charge. And so after really brainstorming and looking at it, I was like, you know what, I'll start off low and then I kind of see, you know, how things go. So with that being said, I want to share more about it. So once you hit the subscription button to subscribe, it is going to be— I think you have to pay through Spotify or Anchor. Anchor is better to subscribe that way. Spotify is okay, but I think with Spotify you have to have a— not subscription, but an account. But with Anchor, you don't have to have an account. Now, Anchor is a part of Spotify, but with Anchor, you can go up here, click on it, and just listen. You don't have to go log into your podcast sites to be able to hear the episodes. So I like that part about Anchor. So what I'll be doing is I'll be teaching like strategies and tools straight from worksheets and wisdom and knowledge and experience that I've gained over the years. I've been a therapist since 2013. Prior to that, I was a social worker from '06 up until I finished school and I ended up going to work in hospice, in a variety of settings, in mental health. And I've been to so many different trainings for ADHD trauma. I have so many certifications, you guys. I don't even put most of my certifications or credentials up because it's just too many, to be honest. But the main point of me getting that was to expand my knowledge and to grow because I wanted to be equipped to be able to help people when it comes to mental health and faith and growing and purpose and empowerment and all that good stuff. And then, of Of course, on the flip side of that, you know, I'm a believer, I'm a minister as well. And so I read my Bible, I read my word, and I, and I understand the word of God. I have a close relationship with the Lord. And so I'm also taking what I learned from that, and you'll get to be able to really hear me whenever I do these, um, episodes of how I will actually, you know, counsel somebody And so of course, keep in mind, this is not a replacement for therapy, but either a resource. I realize that not many people are ready to actually go to therapy. Some people don't want to even be seen or even know that they're struggling in some areas. And so this will be a very simple way for you to have access to resources from a licensed professional who has experience in treating these particular areas. So we're going to go over areas such as grief, anger management, relationships regarding friendships and dating, anxiety, grief, boundaries, purpose, forgiveness therapy, self-care, trauma, stress, self-esteem, depression, conflict resolution, improving your communication skills, and so much more. Oh God, whatever the Lord put on my heart to do, y'all, I have so many, so many tools to teach you guys. It is like an abundance. Of resources. Okay. And so I'm going to start off with one series, which I think I'm going to start with anxiety first. So start off with anxiety, teach about anxiety, give you tools, show you how to be able to use that and all that good stuff. So it's going to be great. I'm excited about it. And then I'll have one Q&A session a month. So what does that look like? So I have this platform I use for my online school and Power Purpose Academy and for my websites and through Kartra. And it's an email marketing system as well. And there's a place where I can create a survey. So the survey would be enlisted in every episode. And in that survey, you'll be able to submit your questions. And I will not release who you are whenever I answer your questions during the Q&A. And the Q&A could be anywhere between 10 to 15, 30 minutes. It depends on how many questions I'm getting for that month. And if it's a question I've already answered in a previous episode, I can give you some direction. Hey, go back to this episode. And you never know, I might sprinkle in some Q&A along the way whenever I'm answering questions. But for the most part, they're going to be tools and strategies. There'll be no ads. The only information you hear is about me and my services and whatever's going on. You also get discounts on events as well that I might have that's virtual or even local, because I know I have listeners from pretty much all over the world. And so let me go over my little sheet here. And so each episode will have a sheet to go along with it, as I was saying before. Alrighty. And so that's pretty much it. It's going to be simple. It's going to be an easy listen. I know everyone can't afford to go to therapy or, you know, or not even, or not ready, as I said before, to engage. So that is an explanation of my podcast. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at coaching@shakeetatorres.com or my admin support@shakeetatorres.com, my first and last name, if you have any questions. So hopefully you're signed up. I know it'll bless you. Also, anything that I'm like when it comes to biblical teachings, like my episode is focused only on that, I don't think I'm gonna make that part of the subscription because I want people to get the word of God for sure. And, um, also, I, I also have some prayers I'm going to release that I, that I prayed. Some of them I created myself, some of them I got from prayer books that I have that are powerful prayer books. That is going to be for public as well. It's not going to be a part of the podcast subscription, but also with a podcast subscription, every episode that I create, I put ads in there and I'm marketing my stuff heavily, okay? That I'm creating this content in my own free time, right? But if you're on a podcast subscription, you don't get any ads. There's no ads from Anchor. Uh, the only thing you hear is about my services, which will only be about a minute or two, right? So there are a lot of perks to joining the podcast membership. So if you have any questions, let me know and give me a moment and I will give you a little update on the Faith and Mental Wellness Summit. Oh yeah, I forgot to add one more thing. I'm sorry. And that is, so the podcast subscription is like, to me, it's like level 1 when it comes to accessing more content from me. But also the next step up would be Power Purpose Academy. So I do have a mentorship program called Pain, Passion, and Purpose. And what that consists of is courses, prerecorded content that goes a lot more in depth, and Facebook community, and monthly group live Zooms. Okay? And so it is a step up from— a huge step up, to be honest— than the podcast. So with this community, you'll be able to see who's in the community. You'll be able to make connections. You be able to have like live conversation with me and be able to still submit questions, but you'll be able to like do that in this group setting. Um, God gave me the vision for this, you know, months ago, and I've been working on that. Um, courses around pretty much everything that we're going to go over, um, in the podcast, except it's a lot more, um, in-depth, you guys. So if you love community, you're like, hey, I want to be amongst other believers, amongst, amongst other women, um, really pull from Shakeeta Torres even more, then guess what? This membership, that membership would be for you. Okay, and so you can go to www.empoweredpurposeacademy.com to learn more about that. And just click, um, at the top, you'll say, you'll see it says, um, mentorship group, and you can click on that, and then you will, um, be able to see the information and you'll be able to apply. So you do have to apply for that because I want to know who you are. I want to I want to make sure that it's going to be a good fit for you, and I want this community to be healthy. Like, I'm very, um, like, I love peace and I love creating space and peace for others. And so this is not going to be drama. This is going to be like, well, you really want to hone in and just really learn, and you'll be able to ask questions in the Facebook group pretty much anytime. Okay, so yeah, I want to add that real quickly before, uh, taking this break. So hang on, coming right back. Hey, hey, hey! I hope you are enjoying this episode so far. Don't forget to subscribe and leave us a raving review. I also want to share with you more about Little Warriors in a Bottle. This is healing anointing oil that God instructed me to prepare back in 2015. I have received so many testimonies since 2015 about this oil. It is powerful. It has changed my life and others. So be sure to go visit www.empoweredpurposeacademy/shop to learn more about the oil. And while you're there, you can check out the new book that I co-authored called Just Say No, a number one international bestseller, where I share my story called What Trauma Stole from Me. It is amazing. It will inspire you and encourage you. And there are also 13 other authors who share their story about setting healthy boundaries. So that's it for our little break. Let's get back into part 2 of this episode. All right, you guys, I am back. I am super excited, and so I'm going to share with you more, um, information and details about my faith and mental Wellness Summit, and the theme that the Lord gave me was called Unashamed. Unashamed. Oh my gosh, you guys, like I shared in, um, Season 2, Episode 1, if you want to go back and listen to that, how God gave me the vision, you know, how the seed was sown for it, um, for me. And also, uh, kind of teach a little bit about what to do when God gives you a vision, right? Like how to navigate that when God gives you a vision for something. So that's an episode, um, season 2, episode 1. So check that out. And so as far as the summit, once again, it's called Unashamed. The date for is Monday, March 13th, and Tuesday, March the 14th. So I want to read a little bit more about it, and I'll go into more details. But our mission is to help eradicate the stigma that is still so prevalent today in the body of Christ. In reference to mental health. Our goal is to provide you with training, resources, and support to normalize the human experience for your mind, body, and spirit. And the Lord desperately wants us to deal with each component of what makes us who we are. Our vision is to create and provide a safe space where faith and mental health can collide and holy— and allow the Holy Spirit to move and be free as participants learn, heal, and develop language for their pain and the pain of others. This is for Christian leaders. This is for churches. This is for Christian therapists who want to counsel from a Christian perspective. This is for you if you are a new convert or you're not leading in any capacity, you're a believer. This is for you because we're going to be sharing clinical knowledge and biblical references to teach you and to back up what we're teaching you. Okay, so it's going to be amazing. The speakers are great. Um, the theme I said before is called Unashamed. This mental health awareness in the church is continuing to change, but there is still work to be done. Many people are still among us who are ashamed daily for the condition of their mental health. And when I say that, it happens. I've heard people say that he was telling me that I don't have enough faith, or people were telling me that, um, you know, I need to pray more and pray often. But listen, that's— oh gosh, you guys, I can go on and on about this topic. But just know that's not the space for that. We're not having the space to tell you to just pray, pray about everything. Yes, pray about everything. That's not what I'm saying. I love to pray, okay? But what I'm saying is don't— people rely only on therapy and don't do the work to figure out what is the triggers and the causes to some of the things they're struggling with. And that's what a therapist is supposed to do, help you get to the root cause of why you think the way you think, which causes your behaviors to be something that you might not like. Okay, hope that makes sense. So Christ loves us unconditionally. He cares about every single area of our lives, including the condition of our mental health. He wants his people to become unashamed with their struggles so they can heal and break free from condemnation. And so the scripture that we have is, uh, 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Just as God is three in one— Creator, Christ, Holy Spirit— humans were created as three parts: body, mind, and spirit. That came from 1 Thessalonians 5:23. And also in the word of God, it says that Jesus wept 3 different times. That's in John 11:35, Luke 19:41, and Hebrews 5:7-9. Okay, he wept for several reasons. He wept at the death of Lazarus, and he wept because the people were heartbroken. This scripture is only one example of how compassionate Jesus is towards us, and he cares about your mental health as as well. And so there's more scriptures up here on the website. If you go to www.faithandmentalwellness.faith, you will be able to see everything up here. But I did think it would be very helpful for me to kind of explain a little bit more in detail what to expect so you can hear it straight from me. Okay, so some of our topics is Unashamed of Trauma. I'm talking about how trauma and shame go hand in hand and how we can overcome shame to deal with our trauma. Also being unashamed of resting and setting healthy boundaries. And then we have one for teens, for teens to be able to, you know, work on some of their mental health. This is from one of my friends and my sister. She's also a doctoral student and she loves working with teenagers because it says that between ages 15 and 19, suicide is the fourth leading cause of death. Okay, and so we want our teens to have the tools they need to, to have a support to deal with their mental health symptoms. Uh, we have Unashamed of My Health. Okay, breaking the chains of financial shame. Hello. Uh, we have, uh, Dr. Hardy speaking about It's Not Your Shame: Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking. And so, uh, it's going to be a very good and unique topic because she has— I have not heard her speak on this before. I've definitely heard her speak a variety of times on human trafficking, but I look forward to hearing her, to hear her message around this. Then we had the New Testament Kind of Love— well, That New Testament Kind of Love from Dr. Jude, um, overcoming unresolved trauma in relationships. Oh God, so needed, right? So needed. Um, then we have Becoming Unashamed of My Grief Process. Becoming unashamed of parenting through my trauma. Listen, I'm a parent and I am a trauma survivor, and so I had to learn how to parent and really identify and see how my trauma was affecting my parenting. And when I say trauma, unresolved issues, right, that we may have. That's going to be great. Then we have, um, Nakiya Burr speaking about breaking the shame of pornography addiction. Um, there's people who are addicted to pornography all over the world, and a lot of times believers feel shame around it because they don't want anybody to know. But baby, no, we're going to help you out too. All right, if you struggle with this or know somebody that does, or you need some tools to help your clients as a therapist to deal with this, then come on in. She has definitely— she has her certification in, um, this particular area. And we got Dr. Vincent Henderson, um, he talks about mental health, healing, and deliverance, and how we are taught that it's separate, but the message that God has given him over the years is that they're supposed to go hand in hand, supposed to go together. Okay, and then finally we have, uh, Miss Paula McDade, I'm Unashamed to Work with the Holy Spirit, a life coach and/or licensed therapist. So she's all about— and she, she's a PK kid, she's a nonprofit founder, like she's phenomenal woman with lots of experience, not just working with people but also life experience too. And so I look forward to hearing what she has to say. She's an author. Oh my God, every single speaker up here, y'all, are amazing. They are so amazing. And so we have two tiers, um, so, uh, both tiers are going to include this. So, um, as of right now, you get access to the recordings, um, you, you get free access to the Facebook community indefinitely. Um, you get discounts on faith and mental wellness products, um, and you get entry to receive virtual door prizes. We're going to have virtual prizes, you guys. We'll have drawings. Some of those are going to be Amazon gift cards, books, resources, uh, the Unashamed gear that we have. So definitely tune in, definitely register. It's going to be amazing. So I know it's going to be in the daytime, uh, most people you know, can get off work because it's like a professional type, you know, setting for you to get continued education credits. And so if you pick that particular package, you also get 12 hours of education credits. Every state is different. So what I did, I created a separate page that has all the links to every state, all 50 states. To links to the Social Work Board, to the LPC Board, and to LMFT Board. So if you are a licensed professional, you know what I'm saying. People might not understand the lingo, but for those of you who are therapists, you guys understand what I'm saying. So if you go to that site, you can read more about it and check with your board to see if you can receive credit. For me in North Carolina, I can. Long as the event is live, I can count 12 hours to go towards my licensure, even as a speaker. Even if you're a speaker in my area or in my state, you can count those hours as long as you get a certificate saying that you, you know, did that. So yes, so I'm not going to keep going on and on about it. I wanted to come up here and just explain this to you. Also, if you download my free workbook that I created called Breaking the Barriers of Shame, you will get a free mini workbook. The workbook is amazing. I've used that I created myself by pulling together different resources, and I use it with my clients I've had, and it works. I love it. Also, if you download the ebook about the mini workbook, you'll get 20% off of your purchase. And so from now all the way up to the event, you'll probably see, if you're on social media, on my different platforms, posting about the event. Be sure if you're on Instagram or Facebook to follow @faithandmentalwellness to learn more about what we're doing and to be inspired, encouraged to walk in your authority and to not be ashamed. So that's it. Thank you so much for tuning in to today's episode. Our prayer is that this podcast episode has blessed you. Don't forget to go and subscribe and leave us a raving review. If you would like to sow into this ministry or to this podcast, Pain, Passion, and Purpose, you can do so at anchor.fm/painpassionandpurpose or Cash App, $shakeetatorres. Thank you so much, and I will talk to you next time.
