Are you a better talker than a writer? Are you frustrated sitting at your computer for hours and hours on end trying to write that perfect video script? Well, I'm here to tell you that there is a way to plan your video for social media with no script, and I'm going to show you how to do it in this video. My name is Sheryl Plouffe. I am a video strategist. I've worked with clients globally to help them build their brand and business with video. I'm a former national TV broadcaster, 6-figure entrepreneur, an international speaker. So in this video, I'm going to show you a tool that you can use and emulate so that you can plan your videos for social media. So let's go over to the computer and dive in. So what we're looking at here is what I call my 3E video outline. I don't like to use the word script because I really don't believe in word-for-word scripting for social media videos. We live in an era now where people are craving authenticity. They want the real goods. They don't want scripted rigid, stoic, corporate, stuffy type of communication. We're looking and craving for connection. And if you are an entrepreneur, a coach, a consultant, a speaker, an expert who's looking to build either your personal brand or your business brand, it doesn't matter really what kind of business, any business needs to connect with people. And so the, the thing I'm going to show you today is how you can outline and use a tool like this outline emulate this for yourself so that you can better communicate and have a structure by which to follow so that you can provide tons of value and to be able to create video, social media videos that are really gonna connect with people without relying on a script. So this particular document is included in my online course. I'm gonna show it to you here. And really, it's a 3-part system formula. Number 1 is to engage the audience. Number 2 is to educate, and number 3 is to enroll. When we look at this outline, you can see that the enrollment piece actually shows up twice on this particular outline, and there's a reason for that. So let's go through it step by step. To engage means to hook someone in. If you noticed at the top of this video, I asked you a couple of questions. So your hook needs to be either a statement, a statistic, or a question, and then you foreshadow what's in it for the viewer. So then I followed it up by saying, I'm gonna teach you how to plan your video for social media with no script. And then I followed that up with my credibility introduction, which was, my name is Sheryl Plouffe, and I'm a video strategist, and I've done all these wonderful things, and I'm qualified to help you. So you're gonna want to use an engagement, this engagement formula for yourself at the beginning of your social media videos. You want it to be pretty quick. You don't wanna be going on and on. People are really not interested in hearing lengthy explanations of who you are, but you have to get good at being able to express that in a short period of time. So once you've completed that engagement piece, then you're going to want to move into a very quick piece of enrollment. And I'm actually going to do it with you right now for real. I would really like for you to like this video and share with your network so that it helps me get my message out to more people. So that's an example of— and I really do mean it— that you can use in the enrollment piece, but it's very quick, very pithy. You just really want to elicit some type of engagement piece from your audience because it's the signals that it's going to send to social media. It will really help to get your message out to more people because the algorithms see engagement and they go, oh, oh, something special is going on here. Let's push this out to more people. So the enrollment piece at this stage is very short, but we immediately then move into the second part of the formula, which is to educate. So if you are an expert speaker, an author, people who really typically coming to me for that expert positioning with videos, if that's you and you're part of that audience, then you want to educate. You want to be sharing something valuable with the audience. And I always recommend that it be 1 to 5 points about the topic. I don't really like the even numbers, so I would either choose 1 key message, 3 key points, or 5 key points. So you'll want to choose how many points you want to make, and you can use an outline like this to identify with bullet point form notes what those education pieces are. I would not encourage you to start writing out word for word scripting on this, but rather to be using some bullet point form notes to help prompt you and to help you remind you of what it is that you want to talk about. So, for example, as I'm doing this video right now, because I'm demonstrating the video outline, I already have my points right here because it's the actual document. So it's helping me to prompt me to remember, oh yeah, I want to teach, engage, educate, and enroll. So you will use this video outline or something similar to help prompt you as well. Now, additionally, you can add another engagement call to action or an enrollment piece here between these education points, and that's an optional piece as well. The last part of this formula is to enroll again. Now we're at the end of the video, so we want to choose an enrollment that is going to convert people to your list, or perhaps have them register for a training that you do. Or maybe it is just, you know, something that you offer for free, a free gift. This is— we're landing the plane at this point, so it could be registering for a live event. You can choose whatever you want in terms of what the enrollment piece is at the end of the video, but you'll want to end your video with that enrollment piece. And then at the very, very end of the video, you thank them for watching. And I thank you for watching. And please like this video, hit the subscribe button and the notification bell. I have new videos coming out every Thursday. Thanks so much, and I'll see you next time.
