Wanna create a great-looking social media video but don't have time for makeup and don't have time for editing? You're in the right place. Sheryl Plouffe here, Video Strategist. I'm gonna share with you a little hack that's gonna help you through this process of creating a great-looking video that will take minutes versus taking hours. So what you're going to need is a way to record your video. I'm recording on an iPhone X. I have this mounted on tripod around my ring light. It is late at night here, so I do need this artificial light, but you could be using natural light, say, coming in from a window. But I am using a mount so that I can— I like to talk with my hands, so I'm not holding the phone selfie style. The only other thing you'll need are two video editing apps. You can download these from your favorite app store. The first one is called VlogEasy, and VlogEasy takes out all of the pauses, the natural pauses in the course of your clip. And what that does is it pulls all of these things together and makes the video move faster. It gives it that vlog jump cut style that really is a modern twist to what could otherwise just be a normal clip of me. Once I'm happy with what VlogEasy does to the clip, and it takes seconds, you click the button and it just, it does it for you. What you do is you export that your phone. Again, this is entirely done on the phone. Now we're on the second iteration of the video. So the first video was the, was the normal clip that we recorded on the phone. We put it through VlogEasy, export it. Now we're on to the second iteration. Take that VlogEasy video and import it into video editing app number 2, and that is Facetune Video. Facetune Video will allow you to put lipstick on, brighten your eyes, darken your eyebrows, change your complexion, layer on a filter if you want. The only thing I would caution you on is not to go too far with these effects because you do still want there to be— you want to be authentic, you want to come across as yourself. But maybe you could just use a little bit of lipstick like I can right now. I love this app for that reason. You can brighten your teeth, you can get rid of a blemish, and there are a whole host of different things you can use in Facetune Video. Once you're happy with that, then you can export the video and publish it wherever you'd like, be it YouTube, Facebook, Instagram. In fact, if you want to, you can even do that entirely from your phone. So that's my big tip. That's my hack to help you create professional-looking videos with those two video editing apps. I hope you enjoy the tip. The next video in the series on the subject of looking great on camera is to touch up your appearance using Zoom.
