How To Bust Assumptions

Dr. Shiny Unsal presents a framework for recognizing and overturning unhelpful assumptions. She uses a change formula (awareness multiplied by willingness) and three strategies: identify assumptions by questioning them, apply contextual intelligence with a 6W1H model, and replace limiting beliefs with positive alternatives.

Let's talk about how to bust assumptions. Combines the power of the mind with the wisdom of your heart, and it just helps you to unlock your potential. Hey everyone, welcome to my Shiny Minds Show. Hello everyone, my name is Shiny Unsal AI. I am the proud creator of Neuroshine technology. That's Shiny Minds Show, and I am your proud Neuroshine coach. What are we talking about today? We are talking about assumptions. Let me tell you, as a licensed trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming, I studied a lot about neuroscience, how the mind works, how we generate communication, how our language dictates our reality, how we can become better, so on and so forth. And one thing I can tell you for sure is that You cannot not make assumptions. Let me say it again. You cannot not make assumptions, meaning your brain is wired to make assumptions. All of your beliefs, all of your ideas, your opinions, they're assumptions. It's in your world, they belong to you, not anybody else. That's why we call them assumptions. And sometimes they're not really helpful, and because of that, I have some very entertaining ideas to bust those non-helpful assumptions. Ready? Let's go. Number 1, you gotta know what they are, right? So I have this formula that I created in my Neuroshine technology that is the formula for change. Anything you want to do, anything you want to create, anything you want to transition into something else, it is called change. And change has a formula in my world. That formula is change equals awareness multiplied by willingness. When you are aware, you can do something about it, right? So that's why number 1 is you gotta know what your assumptions are. You gotta ask yourself this question: What I am thinking right now, is that the complete truth or could it mean something else? Could it mean something else to this person? Could it mean something else to the other person? Does it change according to time, place, and people? If the answer is yes, that's an assumption. Number 2, use your contextual intelligence. Did you not know that you have contextual intelligence? Let me tell you, you have it. It's called contextual intelligence because it is about your ability and your intelligence, your inner wisdom of understanding the context around everything. In my world, I look at 6W1H: what, when, where, why, who, What is the source? And how? You might be like, what is the source? Come again? Yes, the source of the information is very important and it changes the context. It is a part of your contextual intelligence, and when you formulate questions to analyze the situation with these 6W1H questions, they become your contextual intelligence. And when you apply this contextual intelligence to your assumptions, guess what? You start busting them. And as you bust them, you become so good at it and you start busting other people's assumptions. And I gotta tell you, don't have too much fun with it. Last but not least, after you bust all of those assumptions, you gotta offer a positive alternative. Assumption busting might sound like a game so far, the way I shared with you in this video, and it can be actually. You can even go ahead and play with your kids if you want to. And yet again, once an assumption is busted, the person is like hanging in the air, like, what do I believe instead then? What opinion do I hold on to, right? So give them something. If you busted a negative belief, Give them something positive to believe instead. Here's an example. Maybe this person has a limiting belief that they cannot make any friends, right? And by asking those 6W1H contextually intelligent questions, maybe you busted their assumptions and now it's in the air. So now, as step number 3, you gotta give them an alternative positive belief so that they can go ahead and choose a positive belief, a positive assumption if I may, instead. So I hope this video helped you. I hope you liked my 3 strategies to bust assumptions, and I hope you had a lot of fun with it. If you liked it, please like it and share it with your friends so that everybody can bust their non-helpful assumptions and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this because, as you know, you and I, we're going to make this world a better place with more love and shiny minds.
