Day15 Parenting Autism Real and Raw with Siobhan Wilcox - Letting go to Trust!

Siobhan Wilcox (vlogger) reflects on parenting an autistic child, focusing on the personal process of "letting go of resistance" after receiving 20 days' notice to move her son from his current school. She describes recognizing her son's stress signals, grieving the change, arriving at surrender and trust, and actively searching for a better school fit (this will be his fourth school). The video mixes emotional reflection with practical next steps (school tours) and community-building calls-to-action.

Hey everybody, Siobhan Wilcox here. Day 15 of parenting, autism. Raely Draw. Thank you so much for continuing to tune in each day. I'm getting such amazing comments. Keep them coming. As always, people are emailing me and messaging me on Facebook so you can join our community on Facebook. I'll put a link below this email so you can go straight through there. And also, you know, it's, it's just so wonderful to, I really think support each other, to create community, to inspire each other with what is helping and assisting us on our day to day living. You know, this. Negotiating this world where you have an autistic child or any special needs child, very challenging and also in ways can be very rewarding. One of the things I've discovered this early last week was letting go of resistance. My internal self kept saying to me, inside me, let go of resistance. Let go of resistance. And I'm like, what am I resisting? I don't quite understand what I'm resisting. What I realized I was resisting was not quite listening to my son and his needs, not seeing that the school he was in now, although it's an amazing school, no longer was serving him. He was saying, mommy, I need to move schools. I'm getting too stressed, it's too noisy, there's too much going on, they're challenging me too much. I'm finding it too challenging, it's too difficult. So he was giving me all the messages about this is not the place for me, mom. His reaction to that was great. And high levels of overwhelm. So eventually last week, as you saw my last video where I was talking about crying, all of those levels of me trying to just keep him in that place and doing everything I could to possibly keep him there just all fell away. It all fell apart because we got our, our 20 days notice. And that's just it. We need to find somewhere new now. So now when that came initially there was this great well of overwhelm of grief which I spoke about in the last day 14 and all that healing that came with that grieving and that crying. But then what I've noticed now is it's a deeper sense of peace. It's like, let go of the resistance is I'm in a place of surrender. And when you're in a place of surrender, you start to come into deeper peace. It's like you keep, you're trying to move forward and you're trying to pull those concrete blocks behind you. Then somebody just snaps the chains off and you go, whoo, look at that. Those Chains are gone. I didn't even know I was pulling them. And so I'm just trusting. I needed to move into a place of trust just to know that wherever my son goes to next, whatever campus he's on, that it will meet his needs, that it will be the most perfect place for him at this time. And again, this will be his fourth school we're moving to. So we've done a year in one school, two years in another, three years in another. Each of them served him at some level. So now we're moving to our fourth school. And I'm trusting because if I can't live in a place of trust, I will be in a place of stress. So I am really talking, putting myself out there in a place of compassion, trust and love and just asking that we are sent the most perfect place for my son, the place that he will feel nurtured in that he will grow in that he will be balanced and harmonized in that will be the best for him at this time, that he can become stable in. And so I just want to leave that thought with you for today because I have to go do a school tour now and maybe another one straight afterwards. It's about being in a place of surrender, trust and self, love, compassion, and really laying out there what it is that you wish, not what it is that you don't wish for, because then you'll attract what you don't wish. It's about asking for what you really wish for, looking for that place of harmony, balance, peace and quiet and place for your family to stabilize in. And as always, I'll be talking to you again in the next couple of days so you can go and register at my website, autism expertsalliance.com Please comment like this video and pass it on to other parents that may serve. And I look forward to hearing from you very soon. And until then, have a blessed and loving day.
