So let me tell you how I got started in this business and within 90 days made my first $4,000 for real. So I was at ExxonMobil working as a chemical engineer. And so I had to do something. So I became a notary. I started doing the job and was hired by this company called Carrington Title. They changed their name later to Vila Title, but they were Carrington Title outside of Dallas. And they were wonderful. Long story short, I started doing a lot, a lot, a lot of jobs for them, like every day and around the holidays. A man, I guess, notaries didn't want to work. So the lady that I worked with the most, who I built a relationship with, called me and said, latonya, are you available? I said, yep. She said, we have a backlog of jobs, man, and I need at least about five or six people. I, I thought about it and over that I think it was. So it was the week of Christmas, all the way up until Christmas Day. And that built that relationship with that lady because I was available. After that, I started getting all of the Houston jobs. Every job that came through Houston, she would say, hey, do you have somebody? Because one thing that we believed in in my family, we would teach each other how to do this. Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy, accuracy. Don't mess up, right? If you have a question, call somebody. If you need somebody to look over your documents with you, allow me to do that. Because one of my cousins, baby, she could be on the phone with you and you just turning pages and she'll catch it. She's just that good and that efficient and detail oriented. I, I'm a high level thinker, so yeah, I can miss some stuff, I ain't gonna lie. My name is Latonya Sheree Johnson. Everybody say hi, latonya, right? I have a high level thinking then called macro versus micro. So she's gonna catch some stuff that I didn't catch. And at first he'll be like, dang, I made one mistake, Dang. You know, and then the mistakes got less and less because I became comfortable with the documents. But I allowed her to look over my work because I know me, you to know yourself, sweet. And you got to have help. If you haven't thought about it, look at my video that I talked about. You need training, you need a coach, you need a mentor, somebody to walk you through this thing and hold your hand. It's imperative. So that's what we did as a family. And I mean, long story short, it all came from a relationship, right? From me building a relationship. With this person at the title company. And not just one person. My relationship went deep and wide after that Christmas. We laughed so hard, baby, because they were in a. In a pickle with people not accepting jobs. And so after that Christmas, I. They were in Dallas. I went down to Dallas and I took the whole office breakfast. And we just laughed and talked and, man, I knew everybody at the office. Everybody at the office knew me. It's about building relationships. It's about being sincere, and it's about showing up. You know, I know a lot of us hate these spam calls. So we have some type of spam filter on our phones. Guess what? That dagum spam filter is making you miss money. Let me talk to the people in the back. That spam filter is making y' all miss money because it's blocking out some of your calls. More so than that spam filter is you not answering the daggun phone. You have to answer the phone every call. It's your money calling. This is your business. You. You got to answer the phone because that's how I got that job. I answered the phone. You hear me? You would be surprised at how many people just don't answer their phone. It's crazy. So you answer the phone, you show up, you get the job done. And you get the job done right. And you get it done right every single time. And the good thing about working with just one title company is you learn their docs and their docs are normally the same. Now, wait a minute. You can't trust that them docs are always the same. So you have to every single time read the instructions, go over them. But sometimes the actual title company documents are more than likely the same. The lender documents change, but the title company documents are normally the same. All right, so that's just a little tidbit of how I got started, how I got to that $4,000 real quick. I built a relationship. I was available. And then after that season, they still called on me. Excuse me for my neighbor back here, baby, but I'm, I'm. I'm. I'm at a closing and I'm waiting on my time because I'm already on this side of town from another job. So listen, I'm just trying to get this information to you as best I can. All right? Hello. I need for you to be in the field getting work. I need for you to get it. Get it however, too. Okay? That's important. And then while I'm over here, shoot, I didn't did a mystery shop. I'M waiting in my car. Now if another mystery shop come up, I'm gonna do that, but. Because I have about 30 minutes. But it don't make sense for me to go all the way back home when all my jobs are on the north side today. So listen, in this business, baby, you just work it how you work it. But you gotta answer your phone. You have to be approachable. You have to be in the mode of building relationships. All right? I love you. To life. I'm looking forward to you winning. I ain't just saying. These ain't just words, baby. I want you to win. And I want you to come in these comments and say, TJ you ain't gonna believe what happened to me, right? You're special. You deserve this. It's your time. Let's get it. Let's go.
