Welcome to another episode of Inside the Speakeasy Mastermind Podcast, and I am so excited to travel with a new friend of mine that I've met recently. And we get to go to Canada, which is so beautiful. I love it. And in a cool city, Ottawa, to meet Melissa Johnston. And we're going to talk about a really interesting topic, which is essentially she is the healing expert, a subconscious healing expert out there to help us figure out— a lot of us, we're going to talk about what is holding us back. What is blocking us? What are some of our energy and profit leaks we all have that is beneath the surface? I'm so excited to get into this topic because we all have this. I know I do. You do listening. Welcome to the show, Melissa.
Thank you so much for having me, Eric. It's a pleasure to be on board. And yeah, I'm excited for today's conversation. It's so needed.
Oh my gosh. I can't wait to get in. This is such exciting stuff. The more I learn about subconscious, superconscious, I get more and more excited. And it's like, damn, everything just hits me like a ton of bricks and it gets me really thinking. So I know you got some good stuff today. Before we get into that though, I know you just don't magically wake up, or you might have, because I know you're a big introvert.
Yeah.
How did you find yourself? Like, like how did you get into this world that you're playing in today?
Yeah. So I wish it was as, as easy as just waking up and, you know, choosing this path. Unfortunately, it was a little rockier than we had expected. So I was living the life that everyone is expecting of me, doing everything that was right. You know, I had the high-paying corporate offshore law firm job. The marriage, the home, the income. And I was really good at what I did, but I had this unshakable void that kept growing louder. And no matter what I did, I had this deep nagging feeling that I wasn't really happy inside. And so, as a high performer who was really good at masking her coping mechanisms, who was developing, you know, addictive tendencies and really self-soothing in unhealthy ways, I realized that I was actually walking in somebody else's footsteps and this wasn't my life. I had just sort of inherited, right, the path that is sent out when you go to college and you get the career and you You do all the things that you think you're supposed to to have a good life on paper. But what really happens when it looks fantastic and you're being praised, right, for what you're doing, but inside you're like, I want out.
So let's take a step back. So give me some— I'm a visual— give me some context. And are you growing up in Canada? Is this— and you talked about some corporate jobs. Did you go to school out there?
Yeah, I grew up with a powerhouse German woman, a single mom, right? High performer, global executive. And of course, she modeled a certain level of success. She was self-made, right? And I really respected her. And I think there was a lot of me that wanted I wanted to be just like her. So I went to Dalhousie University in Canada, one of the best schools for business, graduated Dean's List in entrepreneurship, checked off all the boxes, the commerce degree. At that time, having fallen in love with my previous marriage, I moved to Bermuda where I got offered a pretty lucrative job at a corporate offshore law firm. So legally, you know, funneling and, you know, managing large sums of money for the 1%.
Wow. Okay. So you did this sort of as a kid, I grew up, I'm following mom's footsteps, I'm making mom proud. I'm doing the things I'm supposed to.
It was beautiful. Yeah, of course. I mean, scenic, gorgeous, amazing culture, right? What happens when you're on an island, you have no family, right? No real friends. And you're like realizing that you're waking up in these what we call golden handcuffs, right? Where you're kind of chained to a life that feels so foreign. And the more you try to avoid it, the louder it gets in other ways.
Got it. Okay. Right. And you're saying, yeah, cause you're there, but the money's good. You're like, this is me. Like if I walk away from this, so keep going. All right. So you're feeling something's inside of you is not feeling correct here. What's happening?
That's correct. So, I realized that this void was gonna get louder and that no amount of success would, or external validation, right? You know, performance reviews or things would really fix the unfulfilling things that I felt inside. And there's about a 3-year transition. I'm gonna just condense it down for you. My marriage was also crumbling. It was very unhealthy. And I realized I had to come back to Canada. So, once we had moved over, there was a moment where I decided to leave everything behind and I left behind the family home, the marriage. I walked away from a board-level position. Position here in Canada, and I set out on this quest to rediscover, like, who the hell I even was at the end of the day, because I had gotten so far away from my core and my soul and what I even wanted, because my life was based on people pleasing and doing everything that I should be doing rather than picking what actually made me happy.
So you're literally— from an outsider, people are looking and saying, wow, she's got the marriage, she's living on an island, she's got the big paying corporate job, and you just walk away, get home, and everybody's you know, probably in your mind, that's such a massive, you know, you think about choose your own adventure life stories, right? You're going down, which path do you go down? You made a massive step to do that. People probably asking, are you crazy? What's that like? You're there and you're just a no job and you come back to nothing or walk me through that.
Yeah. So unfortunately the marriage ended a little bit tragic. It was quite unhealthy and I had to make a move because I realized that I couldn't let my daughter grow up thinking that is what love looked like. Um, it was really, really unhealthy in the sense where our safety was starting to get compromised. So that's when I knew. There was never going to be the right time. And through removing ourselves from that living environment, that's when I had an opportunity to be like, oh shit, okay, now is the reset button. So now I get to look at every area of my life that hasn't been working, that I've been avoiding, and kind of go through, you know, like a quantum makeover in every area of my life that was built on like a fake house of cards.
So that's a really, I mean, profound realization. I mean, that's great. And you're almost— I could see you probably getting excited by that because you're saying, wait, I have an opportunity to now choose the path that I really want. Was that like a big shift in your mind that you create this positive, you know, thinking through that process for that?
It scared the living shit out of me, for lack of a better word. There's something really interesting that happens when you steer away from the path that has been carved or laid out to you by society, by peers, by parents, by expectations, and you go down this path where your soul's feeling the call, but you're like, I have no idea where this is going, right? And it's not a linear process where you're going to hit the next performance review or the next, you know, raise and promotion. You have no idea where you're going. So, it is a scary process. And I think in hindsight, I would have wanted to invest in mentorship a whole lot sooner to have a trusted guide. You know, same way if I go to Egypt, I'd rather pick a local who's gonna let me avoid the alligators, right? And the sharks in the swamp and help me to get there, like without trying to figure it out all by myself.
I always say lack of clarity equals fear. And you clearly had a lack of clarity there. And so, you're walking down the uncharted waters. Okay, so what happens? You're there. A lot of unknowns, a lot of fear. You have your amazing daughter with you that you're protecting. And so then what happens from there?
So from there, I set out to rediscover all of these healing modalities, human design, you know, astrology, the Reiki, and all of these things that, you know, help people with coaching. 'Cause I was trying to understand my own psychology of like what I even needed at this point. Through that, I discovered that I have a gift for reading people's soul's blueprints and understanding what their soul wrote in for the highest expression or their peak destiny, right? Sort of like the climax of their lifetime. I can read it and see it. And understanding the predictable patterns that keep people out of alignment or off mission, stuck in their zone of excellence, something that they're pretty good at, people can count on, they depend on them at this level, but it's not the zone of genius that like is really gonna blow up their fulfillment and their joy.
I wrote down the words, you were able to read people's soul's blueprints. I think that's fascinating. Can we dig in a little bit more on that?
So I had a pretty rapid spiritual awakening in 2018. All of this Leaving stuff behind triggered me having to rely on my own senses. And this is where my intuition started kicking in because there's again, nobody telling me like what the next move is or the next thing or the next person to talk to. So through refining my spiritual practices, I started specializing in a modality called the Akashic Records. Your Akashic Records contain all of your past, present, future life choices, every single potential trajectory that you could possibly explore. And what this does is it helps you to understand like the karmic patterns or the familiar cycles that you can't can't seem to get past and where they first originated so that we can unravel things from the root cause or what we call the point of origin, the first time it ever occurred. And then we can also use it to track your future and to understand if I go down this path or this path, would it be the most fulfilling, the most profitable? Should I launch offer A or B? You know, all of these different potential timelines exist within your soul's records. So it is a spiritual gift, but it's also through training. And I think that a lot of people can tap into that with the right tools and techniques.
Wow. Okay. I can imagine you studied that and a lot of other, like you said, human design, everything else. You just started going down the deep hole of all these cool things that are out there. I imagine, right? You're like, wow, this is my calling. This is really stuff you're understanding probably way quicker than most of us would. And you're being able to, what, just, I mean, did you start using it? I mean, how'd you start working with that?
Yeah, absolutely. So again, using the Akashic Records is what I always do to tap into like the next offer, the program, or how to create this. What I realized is that it gave me a certain sense of a permission slip, a coming home to myself where I was like, oh, those weird quirks, all of those weird things about you that are so unique, that's not a bad thing. Those are things that you were pressing that if you actually harness it is actually what people want more of. So it gave me a permission slip to be more of myself and to also focus on the zones of genius that come so naturally that we sometimes undervalue them because we could do them in our sleep.
Wow. Okay. Now, how do you turn this into, like, what's your next— now you take this, you're learning about yourself, you're learning this. So how do you turn this into your next sort of adventure for yourself or your business? And is that really the next step? What happened? You went from there to where you are today.
So through many years of trial and error, right, a lot of costly mistakes, I realized that I had a lot of core wounds and subconscious blocks that were preventing me from being visible, holding a bigger impact, also stepping away from, like, predictable income, right, like a paycheck, into being my own self-sustaining source of income. So that's where years of costly healing mistakes went to really understanding, okay, if I have these money stories or these money blocks, or if I've been taught that my mom says people with wealth are greedy and they should be avoided, right? If I'm holding these even on a subconscious level, then they are gonna trickle into my business. 'Cause I'm no longer depending on, say, a person or a paycheck or an organization to pay me. I have to become an unlimited and sustainable source of self. So there was many years of struggle with that, but I've refined my coaching practice to help people to transition from an unfulfilling job a dead relationship or something that they feel kind of trapped or stuck in, something that they've outgrown. Like I said, the golden handcuffs looks great on paper. How dare you be ungrateful for it, right? But it's really not yours to continue into what they'd ultimately love to be doing along with some clarity on what their soul really wrote into experience so that they look back on their life at the end of the day and they're like, oh my God, I really did the thing. Like that was the most fulfilling thing that they did without compromising their income. I believe that you deserve to be paid abundantly. So I help people specialize creating sort of higher self-transition plans or parallel sources of income by pre-selling offers, by doing crowdfunding, or just being creative to help you transition from A to B without having to leave it all behind or go on a year-long sabbatical or, you know, live in, in a house in the woods in the forest.
Well, okay, so I think I'm catching on what you're saying. So essentially what you're saying is you have a gift of saying, okay, Eric, you're doing all these things in these businesses, But through conversations or through whoever, you know, however you're in that, we can talk about like, how would you discover that within people? But through conversations or through whatever, you could go to people and quickly or within a certain amount of time to say, yeah, you're doing the things and you're making the paycheck and you're running the life and you're doing, you're going down that path, but you're really best suited to do things like that. How does that sound to you? Does that light you up? Does that feel right when I talk about this? And then as soon as somebody says yes, you then help them figure out how they can transition and sort of get to that. Obviously, you don't just snap your fingers, bail on the money you have, and jump over there. Is that somewhat right? You sort of help people find out the path they're meant to be on more so than the path.
It's very close. So I help people with their most personal problems, right? People who are highly successful, they have a lot of people that count on them, they lead great teams, right? They're leaders, but they have these struggles in their areas of relationship fulfillment, right? Even like addictive tendencies or feeling like they're after the next like dopamine hit or the next impulse just to feel like they're finally living. And that's where we first go down this peeling path of releasing all of the masks, the old identities, the outdated dreams, career expectations, or anything that they're carrying that's really not congruent with their soul and who they came here to be. And then we start the second pillar of transformation, which I call reveal. So this is all about reading things like your human design, tapping into your soul, and asking really intelligent questions to give the guidance back to them so that they actually know what moves they have available to them in their own sovereign decision-making that would lead them to greater fulfillment. So it's like an exploration of potentials, and then the guidance that helps from their, say, higher self, their super consciousness to make them feel like it's actually accessible and that they can leap safely.
Wow. Drugs involved or no drugs?
No ayahuasca required, no sabbatical required. That's actually one of my slogans. I like to joke about it. I love plant medicine for people, seeking profound change. But this is the same level of sort of a rebirth that you go into that you want to come back as changed human without any stimulants or psychoactive ingredients required.
Wow. I mean, that could be part of the marketing tagline. You're probably baking the deal, you know, the same effect and result as you would go through a, you know, plant-based journey, but without the plant-based journey. I mean, what's it like? So, like, how many sessions, you know, does this kind of work take?
So, I've worked with 7- and 8-figure founders that have unraveled, like, their core wound in 60 seconds— or in a 60 seconds, that would be great— in a 60-minute session with me on the spot, so you can expect instant transformation and deepest healing on like your core thing that you can't seem to get past. However, I think that change is most sustainable when it's done in regular intervals, so I typically work with people on a one-on-one level anywhere from 3 to 12 months.
Got it. And so now you mentioned a couple times a Human Design, you know, taking that, that test, if you will, to reveal a little bit more about you. Is that your— like, what are your top 3, or is that just the one you go to, you know, out there that you really like?
Yeah, human design is great. I mean, astrology is great. I love to sort of mastermind different business plans and strategies that fit the person so that they're no longer following somebody else's advice, but they're actually coming home to what works for them, their quirks, their neurospiciness, and all of the things that make them feel like this is actually sustainable. My biggest thing is intuitive channeling. So I can open up your book of records and you can ask anything about your past lives, your future lives, your present choices.
Hold on, hold on. How do you open up one's book of records?
So this would be in a dedicated channeled session. So I work with people and create a sacred space where I'm able to channel their higher self, their super consciousness, as well as any, say, spirit guides, ancestors, loved ones on the other side. And to help them ask really life-changing questions about the choices that are available. What I would say is this is not like a crystal ball psychic reading. This isn't a just follow your heart generic advice. And I'm not the kind of guru that sits here and will tell you what to do. I hand you back your own keys to freedom. So that you see that you have choices and that you know what threshold to measure things with. So, what I mean by this is somebody might come to me and say, hey, I'm not sure, is now the right time to have a baby, right? Or to expand my business. And instead of saying should, I will reverse engineer the question and say, how would you define a success? Would it be fulfillment? Would it be, you know, is now the right timing? Like all of these things to help them get really clear on how they would define if that was the right move for them and then figure out what that is in their soul's book of records.
Wow. You know, what's the most common thing? So all of us listening on this podcast now, I'm not trying to take it down into the core of the listener here and all of us. What are we— I guess maybe it's a couple part question. So first of all, what's the most common thing that you've helped us with? And is there like a signal that we might be thinking, going through at a subconscious level right now? That you're saying, wait a second, something is off. You, you do probably, you know, whether it's you or anybody else, that we can notice in ourselves, that would be a trigger or signal for that. And you talked about, again, energy leaks, profit leaks. Maybe that's all related to the same question.
Yeah, let's split those off into two. So what I would say that in a high-level mastermind, we, as you know, high performers, high achievers, right, we have high standards for ourselves and we also want the best. Sometimes there's a recurring theme of either feeling like we are chasing the approval or the, like, love that we actually just wanted from our parents by doing all of these hula hoops and being on stage and creating these amazing things because when it came down to it, you actually just wanted mom's love, dad's approval, that kind of pat on the back that you weren't really given. And if we can find ways to reconcile that and give you that in every now moment, then you're no longer chasing something on an empty tank. You're actually living, breathing the fulfillment in every moment. The projects that you're doing become that much more expanded.
That's great. So a clue, I should say, that we might have that we're listening to this is a question we can ask ourselves is, do we feel like we're just chasing, you know, what are we doing these things? What are we doing the hard work for? What are we trying to succeed? I mean, are these questions that we, that are good questions for us to be asking ourselves to think about, to see if that's, you know, are we doing it for parent approval kind of thing?
I would say that wherever you're at in your life, right, you have certain projects you love, you have certain projects you may not love, but really just asking is, am I truly happy? Do I go to bed feeling satisfied? Feeling like I'm in the right seat in my life. And if not, the unfulfillment might be a clue that there's some tweaks you need to make, right? You might be in a slightly wrong role, or you might be upholding a very lucrative and profitable dream. We've had to do that. I used to go in a marketing agency with my fiancé, and we've had to let go of really well-paying clients who were not aligned, right, with the vision of where we're going, even though they were some of the best-paying people on paper. So sometimes stripping away the things that aren't really working, or we're just kind of holding up something that's died, allows us to create space for what will really light you up and reactivate the fire that feels so good where you're getting in bed out of day, um, getting in bed every day being like, oh my God, I can't believe this is my life.
Got it. And then, sorry to go on a tangent, but you just said something that was interesting. So you've let go of clients, you've had the pleasure of firing clients. I like saying that because it's so fun when we get to do that because they were so out of it or they were aligned with your core.
Like, talk me through that because for those of us that probably should be firing more clients that don't, Yeah, so there was a book that I read, 10x Is Easier Than 2x by Benjamin Hardy, and it was all talking about how when we have a 10x vision, right, we have to really laser in and put 80% of our focus on the 20% that gets the results that we want. And the 20% is like the legacy, the genius work we're here to do. So that means getting rid of, you know, all of that noise. And when there's clients that are either really difficult, they're disorganized, they're sort of a time waster, right, or they just don't know how to make decisions or to move things forward, and that ends up stalling you down. You can hold yourself back, right, from the momentum that's available to you because you're entertaining someone who can't come with you for that next leg of the growth, or because you're constantly in this depressed, right, sort of lethargic, stressed out, frustrated emotion, which isn't compatible to your dream life. Like, your thriving self isn't gonna be entertaining and tolerating that level of frustration on a daily basis.
I love it. The PITAs, the pain in the asses. I used to always say, when you see that text or phone call ring from that client, do you get energy or are you just totally like, oh, every time you just feel this jolt inside of you, you're like, shit, I gotta deal with this right now.
Right, exactly. And that's why we became our own boss, right? Is to sort of be in control of our life and to have what we call the fuck yes lifestyle, right? So when we're dealing with people and tolerating people that sort of bring us down more often than necessary, that's when it's sometimes necessary to cut the losses. And to like free up your energy so you can focus on the people that are really ready to come with you and that also feel good to serve every single day.
Yeah, great. Can we circle back to— I love the energy leaks, profit leaks you talked about. A lot of us have.
Yes.
Dealing with energy leaks, yeah. What does that mean?
Energy leaks and profit leaks is where you're draining your life force physically, you're feeling exhausted, or you're actually leaking your profits in your business. And what I see time and time again, and we've never been taught this, is that we need to close up trajectories that are no longer being considered. So a lot of you guys on this call, myself included, I've tried different business models, you know, started things. I also have certain dead dreams that I never pursued, but it's the same way that we have a MacBook running with 20,000 browser tabs at the same time. If you're trying to do a Google search for your life ahead and you have 20,000 browser tabs for this idea and this business failure and this past mistake, and they're still all bogging you down, it's taking away from your focus and your manifesting mojo. Because you're still kind of, like you said, leaking energy, right? And sometimes profits into the past. So unless we actually close down those trajectories, forgive ourselves for those mistakes, and also extract the wisdom or the lessons so that we don't have to keep learning the same thing or get the message even louder, then what we do is we free up energy for new creativity, new ideas to be born through us. And we also get back our physical stamina so that we're not, you know, constantly taking another thing of coffee halfway through the day because we're no longer being spread thin from, you know, past things.
Wow, that's great. I love that. What kind of tips for the listener right now who maybe they don't have the opportunity to do some, some one-on-one with you or some coaching, you know, consuming your content? What are some tips that you're noticing a lot of us have, or we could just think about from listening to this right now?
Yeah, for sure. So if you want some clarity on your zone of genius, the thing that you do so good and the thing that would really light you up if you went for it, is to ask yourself what came easily to you as a kid. What did find yourself. And I notice a lot of times we've been like training for our missions, you know, in small different incremental ways, you know, as children and as teens. So what was the thing where you entered those flow states, you could do it for hours, and you found yourself naturally gravitating towards these things? How can you weave that a bit more into your business? Because one, that boosts the play energy, right? And that fun frequency. And two, that will also give you a bit more of that remembrance to your life purpose on a bigger level.
Got it. So go down to the time machine, go backwards in time and, and kind of wish my memory was that good, but you know, it's funny. I, I look back and then as you say that and, and watching even my journey from what you're talking about, you know, having an agency, eh, you know, didn't really light me up. And you know, here I am building community and I look back and all the worlds I've been, it's funny enough, I was always the guy that was wrangling all the different groups together, you know, even interesting. High school, I was the guy that was like friends with the football team, you know, all the different factions of people. And then same thing, like what fraternity to join. My philosophy was like, why would I join one fraternity? I could be friends with everybody in every fraternity. Why do I want to limit this one? So it was just funny. So I like, you know, I guess that was the area and here we are. So is there, you said human design. So if we're able to take a test on our own, is that one that's easily accessible that you recommend that can give us some good clues that we can kind of do some of our own homesteading?
Absolutely. So I think nowadays that you don't have to necessarily become an expert in astrology, human design, or any of the things. ChatGPT is our best friend, right? Pull out your birth chart. It's gonna look like a foreign legend that you've never seen. There's gonna be weird symbols. And of course, you find a trusted practitioner, get them to read it for you. There's magic in having an actual human translate it. And that's what I do in some of my soul channeled sessions for people who are like, I have no idea what I came here to do, but I want some, remembrance, but if not, you can also just plug it into ChatGPT, right? Act as a brand strategist with a focus on human design, astrology, all of these things, and help me to understand the niche that I'm here to serve, the things that people would love to pay me for that I'm not even aware of because they come so second nature, or what the bigger picture is if I actually follow the clues to my destiny instead of going down the, you know, the charted path, the laid out path for me.
I love it. And just for those who have no idea what the hell we're talking about, it's pretty simple. You just enter in your birth date. Time and City, right?
Exactly, and your full name. So it's a synthesis of astrology, numerology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, quantum physics, and just metaphysics overall. And it basically helps to map your soul's gifts, your zones of genius, your strengths, and also some of the conditioning you might be prone to as a result of your upbringing into a picture that allows you to see yourself almost like a character in a play. If life was a play, what role are you here to play, and what can you also do to follow your weird calling and, you know, step into more of that aligned life.
Got it. I will have to hopefully have a sub-obsession with you where you can help me translate. Can you guess what my type was? I have it here pulled up in my, uh, are you a manifesting generator? Let's see. This is how good you are. So like, if anybody wasn't clear, it was no pausing. She just nailed it. And I thought I was kind of cool because I can pretty much figure people's Myers-Briggs out pretty quickly. But this is like way more, you know, detailed. But yeah, manifesting generator is what I am.
That's me as well.
Strategy, Respond, and Inner Authority, Emotional.
We could do a little like basic tutorial inside Speakeasy Mastermind one of these days if it feels aligned.
Oh, that'd be fun. So if we get more people interested in that, hit me up or Melissa up and we could do a fun session and yeah, that'd be good. We can have a whole Human Design Mastermind who's interested in it. We could have you lead that for those that are liking that. So let's talk about, let's talk about this future. I mean, we're going through a world that nobody knows what the hell's going on. And I mean, we, everybody's making predictions. And, you know, I'm talking a lot of people that are into, you know, people doing different skill sets. So yeah, I've yet to talk to somebody with your amazing power. What is this AI world going to mean to us humans? Are you excited? You afraid?
I'm absolutely excited. I've read a book called The Celestine Prophecy, and this isn't the first time different ancient prophecies talk about, you know, AI coming in. And, you know, some people fear it. It's unfortunately here to stay, and I'm all for using it to your advantage. But what I really see the gift is, is it allows that free us up with our creative power that is used for human things only, right? So there's certain things that AI can't do as good as a human could. And there's other things that are a bit mundane, right? That actually save us a ton of time by relying and, you know, making friends with these machines. So I think that right now we're in a really incredible cusp where a lot of jobs are going to be replaced. So now is the best time ever to start creating a side hustle, going after your calling, stepping into the wisdom economy. Or finding ways to leverage your genius and create a life of financial freedom so that you're not dependent on something that, you know, is easily able to be replaced or might crumble in the next decade or two anyway.
Yeah, I think you nailed a few things. I mean, I think, A, the ability to start a business has never been easier right now because of all the help you can get. And you nailed it. The things that I think hold us back a lot is we will tend to procrastinate, delay when we're faced with things outside of our zone of genius. Now, if you could just leverage your AI assistant tool friend to help in those areas, like, gee, I don't even know where to start. How do I incorporate and start my business? Well, you just ask the questions and here's all, you know, here's all the answers.
Okay.
And that excuse is now gone. But I think, so I think people are now going to have true help around them. I think the important thing is probably what you said that we all need to lean into. You talked a lot about zone of genius and understanding where we excel at. And I think leaning more into that. Leveraging AI to get rid of the things we don't love is going to be key. And yeah, even just understanding our personalities better by doing something. I know we kind of were playing around with the human design example, but just the fact that I could get that information super easy, go down the rabbit hole and just spend an evening with my AI coach on that. It's not going to be as good as a live person, I'm sure, but I'm sure just enough to get me like an understanding is going to be, you know, now attainable where it wasn't before.
Yeah, it's really good at mirroring back to you. You put in all the inputs and then you don't necessarily see it, but it gives you a bird's eye view, right? So it's like, what do I do that I'm really good at that people need more of? What can I monetize that it has, you know, a really good niche? And once you, you know, put it together, it's like putting your grocery ingredients that you have in your cabinets and it's spitting back, here's a recipe that you never even thought of, right? So it's a good way to kind of mix and match different things that you otherwise maybe would be blind to.
Totally. Now, I don't know if you've done this before. I played around with this prompt. I don't know the exact prompt specifically. But it really had to do with something like, you know, now that I've done enough prompting in GPT, you know, it was almost like, tell me more about my weaknesses and what I could do. Like, it literally knows you as people, how damn accurate it is. I mean, just, you know, like, be my coach and what can I do better? What do I need to— for all that? Have you tried any of that stuff yet?
It's amazing. I love it for shadow work. I love it for the, you know, upper limit problems, right? That I'm kind of dancing around that I'd rather not look at. And when you— yeah, like I said, there's some of them. We'll have to find a really good example, but it was like, a behavioral psychologist with, you know, blah, blah, blah, and parts therapy and all these things and mirror back to me what I think my problem is versus what my actual problem is or what I actually need to do to hit that next level of success. It's terrifying. And sometimes it's like a bandaid. It stings when you rip it off, but then it gets you there so fricking fast because you can't ignore it anymore, right? So you just lean in and start to make friends and level up with it.
It's crazy. It's so— I recommend people try that. As we phase out, I gotta ask, you know, anybody, if you're watching on YouTube or if you've ever seen the beautiful Melissa here, she's got some incredible artwork on her body and your neck especially sticks out and you have others on your arms. Can you, I know there's a story and a good one behind it. I've been dying to ask. So do you mind sharing?
Please. Yeah. So I'm sure you've read the book Think and Grow Rich.
Yep.
Okay. So we talked about Napoleon Hill talks about burning the bridges to your old life or your comfort zone. I knew that if I went down at this time, I was a single mom, right? In a high conflict divorce, trying to figure myself out. And I knew that my safety net would be going back to the law firm. This was my burning the bridge, because I figured that, you know, no white-collared corporate America man would really want me there after I did that. Thing is, it didn't quite work. I actually ended up getting a job offer and somebody who got recruited me, but I turned it down on my own will. So now we have this, you know, emblem of the idea of it. But yeah, that was the intention behind it.
Oh, wow. Very cool. So you essentially said, you know, I am done with this and this is going to ensure I don't go back to that world.
It was my own initiation into a new identity of that soul-fueled leader rather than the person who was trying to fit into clothes that didn't fit.
Oh, thank you for sharing. What a cool story. I like that. Very cool. Is there anything I did not ask about you today that I maybe I should have?
No, feels super complete. I loved our chat. I mean, if people feel called to, you know, get a taste of the channeling, I would love to share some events that I'm hosting on Fridays that you can join. But other than this, I think this is an amazing convo and I'm lit up by it. I hope this resonates with people.
Awesome. Well, thank you. And so far, anybody at some point, Melissa is going to be running our Ottawa chapter fairly soon. So if you want to have the companies that are up in Canada, you get to do it live or have friends up there, please make intros. And what's been your favorite part of Speakeasy so far?
Speakeasy is incredible for the connections. I'm a big believer that we shouldn't be wearing all the hats and trying to be like an expert in everything. And this is where that heart-led community of people comes together. And it's like, I help you in an area that I'm an expert in that you might need some support and vice versa and being able to like leverage our strengths, but also have lifelong friendships. And the coolest thing is this is like the kind of mastermind where I'm like, I would genuinely have every single person in that room over for dinner. It's not the kind of like, you know, weird, awkward icebreakers where you're like, oh, this doesn't really resonate. It's true level friendships and you can't get that anywhere else.
Oh, I really appreciate that. And, you know, speaking of the balance of what we all need, everybody needs to think about this part of the world, their lives and their personal selves as well. So I'm so glad we were able to share some of that on today's podcast. So thank you so much for your valuable time, and I look forward to chatting with you again soon. Thanks for coming on the show.
Thank you, Eric. Take care.
