Start with one narrow customer profile, not many. Founders often target multiple avatars at once out of anxiety, but this dilutes focus and hurts product quality. Pick a single segment, solve their specific problem first, then expand.

I always tell people to start narrow and not worry too much, especially in the beginning, on how you're going to educate or market yourself to the masses. And maybe that's just been born out of my own experience. But I think that the two most important things are that you have a very well-defined ICP and you actually aren't trying in the beginning to go incredibly wide and large, which I think is what most people try to do because they're hedging and they're, and they're anxious. And so I'll work with a founder who's going to launch product X, Y, and Z. And they're like, and I say, who, who's the ICP? And they'll describe like 5 different avatars for me. And I'm like, it can't be all at once. You've got to start narrow so that you're building a great product and you're solving that exact client's problem up front.
