Another lockout video

Stephen Curry walks through his lockout training routine with trainer Brandon, focusing on contrast drills, right-side power work with resistance bands, and a hand-eye coordination drill using a tennis ball. He finishes with over 100 three-point shots in an around-the-world pattern while fatigued to build endurance and confidence.

So today we worked on some contrast drills, trying to mimic, you know, movements while we were in the weight room so we can translate that to success on the court and explosion into my moves. So I did a lunge series that could work on jab series and step backs and, you know, mimicking that in the weight room and taking it to the court. We also worked on going to my right, which is a thing I've been trying to work on over the summer. It's been a weakness of mine coming through college into the NBA, so I had Brandon, my trainer, get a resistance band and wrap it around my waist and work on explosion going to the right. And then we contrast that with putting the ball in my hand off the gun with a catch and rip to the right and working on getting my jump shot out of that and working on balance and explosion out of that move. One of my favorite drills is hand-eye coordination drills with the ball. You know, we use a tennis ball a lot to contrast, you know, the size of a basketball so that your mind is working while your hands are working at the same time and working on your motor skills and your coordination. And so you're not really thinking about dribbling. It's all your attention's on the tennis ball and making sure you can catch it and throw it back to your target. That's a drill that I use to help prepare myself and condition myself to not think about the ball while I'm dribbling and be able to see and— And— As a point guard, that's really important. A great way for me to finish my workouts is just to get as many reps as I can while my legs are tired, my arms are tired. So I got on the gun and try to get up, or try to make over 100 threes, no matter how many shots it took me going around the world and back. So I set up the gun to make 8 shots in each spot going around and all the way back, you know, until I made over 120, 130 shots. 1, 2, 3. Just so I can get reps up while I'm tired and see the ball go in at the end of my workout and feel good about myself. Hope you guys enjoyed the workout. Just another update of what I've been doing throughout this lockout process and continue to keep my game sharp. So we'll keep sending these videos out. Hope you learn something and keep working on your game. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE]
