Behind The Scenes Voiceovers From My New Movie GOAT!

Stephen Curry voices Lenny the Giraffe in the animated film GOAT, coming February 2026. In the studio, Curry talks about bringing full-body energy to voice acting and how the underdog story mirrors his own path of being overlooked. The session captures the collaborative chaos of recording, ad-libs, and building promotional material for the film.

Is that over? I got it. I can help. I can do it. I can pitch it. Change the game. Will done changed the game. I knew we could do it. Let's go. Go Thorns. What's this say? Roots run deep. Roots run deep. Go Thorns. Yeah, Will. Way to do it.
This is session number 2 behind the mic. Lenny the Giraffe getting ready for the GOAT premiere. February 2026, but we're in here. Gonna give you some voice acting like you've never seen. Ooh, yeah.
Oh, that's fire right there. Ooh, that's fire. Halftime is me time. Me time is music time. I sampled you. Life is music.
Music is life.
No one else is sampling real life. I'm the only one? Oh yeah, it's—
I got you, yeah.
Haha, it's Tearaway. Haha, it's Tearaway. Haha, it's Tearaway.
I'm getting that thing where you say the same word over again, you're like, what is this, English?
Hey.
Ha! It's Tearaway.
Am I— is it more yelly, or is it more like to myself or to the—
That's my squad!
Mm!
That's my squad!
Mm!
That's my squad!
Mm!
That's my— ooh, I like that.
You know what's interesting about this whole thing too is like, you know, I feel like I'm over-yelling, but when you go to that volume, I guess it works a little bit better, but you can't hear your own voice sometimes. That's interesting. I'm trying to channel Russell Westbrook right now. What kind of question is that?
Pfft, I'm not sticking around for this.
Shout out to Russ. Oh, that part. We got, yeah, we got live footage. We're gonna send him that clip after February.
Now I got a couple bars I could spit. I got a couple bars that come to mind. I can spit a few. Anybody give me a beat? Anybody? No?
Ah! Ah! Woo! Watch your head! Look out below! Watch out now! Uh-oh!
I feel like Migos right now. You said what?
Let's change the game! Let's change the game!
I love it. This method to the madness behind it.
This is what they don't get to see.
Oh, maybe they do.
You got a number one hit.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Thank y'all. Get some sleep. So you know we got an unbelievable theatrical debut, Goat, the animated movie coming out in February, so. A little behind the scenes right now, putting together all of the EPKs and all the promo stuff to make sure that everybody knows that this movie's coming out. So that's what we about to do. Let's get it.
Tell me, how'd you relate to the story, the story and character? What about this could you relate to?
I mean, I relate to the entire story of "Go" just 'cause, you know, a lot of my journey is kind of, it resembles Will's journey, you know, being overlooked, underrated, if you will. Just looking for an opportunity, but finding, you know, your self-confidence through it all and what makes you unique and understanding that that's good enough. And then obviously it's about, you know, the power of team too. No matter what walk of life, you can't do anything great without the people around you. So it's kind of cool to bring some of those, you know, storylines into, into "Goat" and know how relatable it is, not just to my story, but to everybody.
Amazing. You get to voice a character in this movie. How fun was that?
Recording is so different because you're kind of, in your own, like, world, if you will. You understand what you're trying to do with what voice you're bringing and bringing energy. But I did— the only thing I underestimated with voice acting is just how much it's just full body, full, you know, your entire being into it. It's not just you talking into a mic. Like, you're trying to embody the character with everything that you have. It was super fun though, and something I really enjoyed.
Amazing. And then why do you think fans and family should be excited to see this movie?
I think fans and families, one, you know, there's a message in there for everybody. I think you'll relate to one, if not, you know, multiple characters in the movie. I think it's entertaining. It's got some good laughs and some good energy. And hopefully it's a story that, again, everybody can relate to in some way, shape, or form. And I think that the biggest thing too is the visuals. Hopefully it's something that people haven't seen before with the way that we brought, you know, the all-animal world to life. This is crazy seeing this. Finally seeing Will the GOAT right here. Looks like he's excited, a little overwhelmed, all the emotions, but he's ready to ball. He's ready to roar ball.
They're like bulls.
No, these are bulls. We got the ferocious Jet here. This looks intimidating, all the things, but I'm liking the vibe though.
And then another thing we were hoping to get is to put a roar ball an actual ball in your hand, and I want you to like toss it up to him.
Oh, got it.
Okay, and then some smiling to camera, sort of headshotty sort of images.
Yeah, you can just walk up.
And I'm gonna have you—
Other side, yeah.
Do the other side. Because here, we're gonna drop him in right here next to you like this. Yes. So he'll be standing right here.
Stay in that pose, please. Yay!
Thank you for being so gracious with us. Appreciate it. Oh God, I heard you.
I got you, got you.
Okay, didn't know an ostrich could get that fly.
I see you, Olivia.
What's the scenario? Is he like dead serious or is he kind of playing around with it?
Wait, how? How? How? How?
How? How?
Protect yourself. I know she's not talking to me. Protect yourself. I know she ain't talking to me. Protect yourself.
Ah, I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it.
Yeah, get 'em, Moto! Get 'em, Moto! Shark Tank, Shark Tank! Strategy, strategy!
I think we got it.
And that was for you. I'm sorry, were you saying something? No, I can't hear you. Did you say something? I'm sorry, you saying something? I got it, I got it. No. Now you got me thinking, what sounds do I be making on the court?
Just without no squeaks or nothing. I'm like, it really be sounding like this. Take away all the other noise and just voices. You put some bass in your voice.
We gonna put some, bye me, bye me, bye me, bye me.
I hear it. Sometimes you go up versus down, like, it gets all softened in.
By me.
Nah, by me. That's a whole different voice. I say we're trading places in my normal life. I ain't ever throwing it.
Throw it up.
Will's eyes up! Will, eyes up! Will, look up!
Is it like a slow-mo thing, or is it pretty quick? I just can't remember.
Ah, mm, ah, mm, ah, ah.
That was a great direction though, 'cause it's like, that's your moment. Is it different, like I'm supposed to be doing this, or then, oh, I finally got to do this? It's two different, yeah. That's nice, that's nice. That's gotta be on the director reel right there. He's got it right here.
Ha, it's tearaway. Pow! Ha, it's tearaway. Tear away, tear away, tear away. Ha, it's tearaway. Pow!
This is a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie magic is made, especially in the animated world, the voiceover life. You know, been in kind of plenty of studios, but never really done this. Bringing a character to life, Lenny the Giraffe. You're gonna see it in Goat, the movie coming up from Sony, from Unanimous, February. But all these characters coming to life, we gotta, you know, bring the energy, run through these lines, give a bunch of different takes on them, and they can put it together to make the movie special. So yeah, you're gonna hear Lenny the— Lenny the Giraffe. The Raspy Giraffe Voice, coming to a theater near you. Baby girl is not shy, dude.
She just lets it rip.
I never lost the dream to play professional Roarball, where the fiercest animals compete in the most dangerous stadium.
Ow!
That's the 4th mascot this season. But there's only one problem.
Small chance of ball.
You wanna bet?
Wish I was a baller baller. You got owned by a goat.
Hey, Will! You're the owner of the Thorns. Seeing as we haven't won a game all season—
Ooh!
You might be exactly what this team needs right now.
You're signing a goat?
Hey! I'm just gonna eat him.
Oh!
He's fine.
Ready to meet the team? There's Jet, a legend, but she takes our losses a little too personally. Lenny, he has a hard time focusing.
I'm sorry, are you saying something?
Archie, the face of gentle parenting. What happened to no kids in the locker room?
Incoming!
I breathed it in! There's Olivia. We have to limit her screen time.
Oh, no.
And Moto, whatever the heck he is.
What the—
It's just my skin.
Ew!
Rrr!
I wish I was a little bit taller.
You don't belong here, goat.
You're too small.
My mom told me if anyone could change the game, it was me. And I want her to be right.
I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller.
We chilling in the penthouse. We chilling in the penthouse. Hey.
You guys ain't gonna believe this place. We got a TV on the toilet. Even has a remote. Unsanitary, but it's cool.
Ah, stop, stop. Bad toilet, bad toilet. We changed the game! Let's go!
