Liberty National, 2025 Curry Cup, second year in a row, second year in the tri-state area. 31 of the greatest kids to play junior golf this year. Some from across the pond, but majority of 'em here 'cause they earned their way in the season-long points race at Underrated Golf Tour. Their names are gonna be getting called right beside Stephen Curry as they tee off next to greatness.
What's happening? What's happening? Ashley, good to see you.
Nice to see you.
How you doing?
Nice to see you.
You too.
How are you?
I'm good.
Great to see you.
How's it going?
Doing great.
Good to see you. We're gonna take some pictures. Useful. Useful.
I'm going to represent the US immediately after this tournament in Geneva in France.
Oh, for real?
Yeah.
Good.
Freaking go.
Good luck.
Thank you.
From San Diego, California, Ty Molina.
Sunday brunch is golden rule, and last night's girl thinks you're a tool. Awkward eye contact just isn't feeling, and your voice call-outs, oh wait, you do.
The outburst might be over, but the nonsense cannot be evitated.
Just as Dijon. Is all I'm here for, skip class today, and all I can say is, that's hilarious.
A+ song choice.
From Whittier, California, Andrew Rodriguez.
Oh, he did it? I like the play though. Hell yeah. Is that how you designed this course, Dan?
If you have a cat card, would you please put it Yeah. This is phenomenal. That Commons last night was awfully crazy. I stayed there so late. Some chocolate froyo, big head burrito. I had about 3 plates, eat shake, palm, and drink my Coke. Chill with friends and crack some jokes. Arrive at 5, kicked out at 8. And that concludes this Commons day. Man, I love Commons. General Tso's with a little fried rice.
Catch me, girls?
Looking so nice.
Dessert line again?
You better think twice. So roll up my tray, get out my way, put up some hearts for Valentine's Day. Commons is champion, not the Union. We got Big John and Miss Sharon. The Outpost might be open later, but Allison cannot flavor your cheddar. Chest is du jour. Y'all making me do karaoke out here.
We want to thank everybody for coming out to the First Tee Experience here at the Currier Cup at Liberty National Golf Club.
And we also want to say a special shout out to the one and only Will Lowry. It's his birthday today.
Woo!
You know what I'm saying? We don't ever let birthdays go by without a little celebration and making it very awkward and embarrassing for him, so If you see Will, give him a hug and say happy birthday all day today. Happy birthday, Will! Happy birthday, Will! Happy birthday, Will!
Hey, get him outta here!
It's your day, Will. Happy birthday!
Who said the mid-rangers dead? Ready?
Perfect.
You mind?
Thank you.
How are you? What's your name? That's it.
3, 2, 1, hold it right there. 3, 2, 1, perfect.
Thank you.
So nice to meet you.
Hawaii, nice to meet you. Good to meet you as well. Great to meet you.
2 hours later.
Work, ladies. Good work. They about to graduate from college. I know, it's crazy.
You got all these ones come by.
You got Princeton, you got Harvard, you got Gonzaga, you got University of Maryland, you got everybody, bro.
Much love.
You done it. Thank you very much, man. Appreciate it. Thank you very much. The vine— he said the vine is bearing fruit right now. That was deep. That was deep. That was deep. I was like, "What? I got fruit.
What you mean?
Orange slices?
Hey, you serious?" No, sir.
We got— We got people realizing their dreams.
I love it.
Can't beat this type of day out here at Liberty National Golf Club, freaking New Jersey. We got the views of lower Manhattan, the One World Center, underrated Curry Cup Season 4 finale, walking with the final group with the ladies. Got the men following behind. This energy is crazy. You got an amazing gallery behind the 18th green. Everybody coming with the right energy to compete but obviously have fun and create an environment that puts these kids on display. It's pretty amazing what we've been able to create— some amazing partners. I'm excited for the future of the tour. Keep creating equity, access, and opportunity.
Hey! Yeah! Woo-hoo! Oh my gosh!
Me too.
Thank you so much. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Come on, oh my God. You're not getting it on him. Okay, okay, guys.
All over.
Okay.
Some grass in there.
[FOREIGN LANGUAGE] We are very proudly just completed our second season of Underrated Europe. We have our Underrated European winners out here, but another element of that is that we take 6 young players, the top 3 eligible players from the Currie Cup each year to go across to London to compete in Underrated Europe. And aside from that honor, it's also been wonderful to see some of those friendships and to see the family expand across each side of the Atlantic. So before we hand out some of the hardware, I'm going to announce who the 3 players are, boys and girls, who we will be taking across to London next year. So if you guys can come up. I'm seeing some nervous faces down here. I'm sure you've all done the maths. Okay, for the girls, Julia Herzberg.
Woo!
Isabella Fernandez.
Woo!
And getting a chance to defend her title, Myla Robinson.
Woo!
And then for the boys, we have Lucas Jimenez.
Yay!
Jaden Sung.
Yay!
And again, making a habit of afternoon tea and getting to defend his title, Evan Peña.
Yay!
Alright, so Jaden, second win of the year. Yeah. And we thought, we kind of thought that was going to be your last win because, you know, you were saying you're getting ready for college, you had your thoughts going somewhere else.
Yeah.
But what does it mean to win two times on the Under-rated Tour?
It means a lot. You know, to wrap off my last junior event with the win is a great way to close the junior golf book and looking forward to college and hoping to do the same here.
What kind of, What would this do for you as you start your collegiate career?
Yeah, just the experience, just with everyone here, getting used to the cameras, I think was a big part of it. And just grinding my way through it.
Will you tell everybody where you're going, please?
Gonzaga University.
Gonzaga University.
All right, well, you know, I have to say, I remember when I went out to the 916 and I met you and I said, I appreciate you trusting me for this idea of this basketball player wants to start a junior golf tour. And I know that was a crazy thought. And I appreciate you and the Lazamas for allowing us to, you know, be a part of your junior golf journey.
Thank you.
So thank you.
Julia, how does it feel to get that victory here on the Underrated Tour and at the Currie Cup?
Oh, it feels great. I mean, coming up, With 2 second places this year and then finally top it off even on a big one, it's just great.
Now you know how Tommy Fleetwood feels.
Yeah, yeah, I mean, all year has just been second places, so I'm finally glad to get something on.
And how does it feel to get that win here at Liberty National following in the footsteps of LPGA players such as Roe Zhang?
I mean, it feels great. This course is definitely super challenging, and I'm just so glad that I was able to, you know, keep grinding it out and see how the LPGA players play because I know that my caddie helped me a lot. He's like, "Oh yeah, they do this and then they do that." So yeah.
Give us a sense of how it feels to have that victory on the 18th green, to have that moment as a junior golfer at this stage in your career.
Well, it feels great. I mean, there were so many people watching and you know, that's kind of what I want to do is I want to go on tour and have people watch me play golf and yeah.
We are very much looking forward to following you on the rest of that journey and watching you on tour. I'm not going to say hopefully, we look forward to watching you on tour. Congratulations, Julie.
Thank you.
Underrated Golf, as I'm sure you guys know or are learning, is about so much more than what happens on the golf course. Every single week we have our panels, we are invested in you guys and your futures, whether that's on the golf course or from an education point of view. And we're very proud of that, as is the Curry family, not just Stephen, but his father, Dell, as well. And so with that, I would love to announce the Dell Curry Scholarship, which is an award that we're going to give out to a boy and a girl who embody what the mission and the values that we hold so dearly here at Underrated. And who have embodied that. Nice. Yeah. Yeah.
And who—
don't turn around yet. And who have embodied those values consistently. We— it's not to say every single one of you out here do embody those values, but we would love to recognize the following girl and boy and to support them with a check on their continued journey both on and off the golf course. So with that being said, I would love to announce that the two recipients of the Dell Curry Scholarship are Siham Ibrahim and Evan Peña.
Woo! Is this, is this Siham?
Is she, where's Siham?
Where's Siham?
Siham Ibrahim.
Where is Evan? Where is Evan?
There you are.
Yeah.
Woo!
Yeah, I just hope that you carry all the lessons, experiences, and the confidence that that you've had built over this particular season. For those who've been here multiple seasons, this entire Underrated journey, like most of you said when you're up here, it's about the family of Underrated. I know, you know, years from now you probably won't remember what you shot today at Liberty National. You probably won't remember your cumulative score for the year. Maybe you will, I don't know.
Yeah.
But you will remember the experience, the lessons that you learned, how to deal with success and failure, and hopefully we, are playing a small part in helping you along your journey to realize your full potential in the game of golf, and like Henny said, off the course as well. Because not only are you going to be great golfers aspiring to be professionals and make this, you know, a living, but also to be the next, you know, change agents and leaders no matter where you end up. And so we're as invested in that as we are in your golf, and we hope that you are on the right path to accomplishing everything that you want to. So If you need anything, we are a family. We're here to support you along the way. Um, you know, once you're underrated, you're always underrated. Alright? So appreciate y'all being here.
Alright!
