Stephen Curry’s Trip To China | Have to See it to Believe it!

Lead vehicle's gonna be a security vehicle. You and I, Steph, DeFox in the second vehicle. One content capture person who is in—

Morning.

You're in the first security vehicle, okay? You gotta be quick.

Oh, okay.

Okay, okay, okay.

That's legit. Okay, get Reno in here and we're done.

What do you think? I love that energy. I got fouled like 17 times trying to get to the elevator though. He was tweaking. That's love. People showing out already. It's only, not even day 1. Thank everybody for being here. I know you're sacrificing a lot personally, your time schedule to be here for this tour, but I think we're all already feeling the energy that's out there. I know we're all locked up right now, but that's why we're here, obviously, is to celebrate all the great things that have happened in our careers, what Curry Brand and Under Armour is trying to do moving forward. The fact that everybody in this room has a significant part in making this tour what it's supposed to be, what it's gonna be. I appreciate you for being here, believing in the vision of what we're doing. And I just want us to have fun at the end of the day. That's my only request. I try to bring joy to everything that I do, no matter what twists and turns might happen with the tour. We all roll with the punches, but we have fun with it. Just to create memories for a lifetime through this tour. I'm excited to be here. It's been 5 years. And to have D-Fox here as a member of the Curry Brand family means the world to me. I tell him that all the time. Like, he took a step of faith believing in the vision of what we're doing. The first professional athlete to sign with the brand. And I don't ever take that lightly. So to have you here on this tour means the world. I remember my first tour, kind of getting my feet wet. I know you've been to China before, but— Little different.

It's a little different.

It's a little different.

That means the world to me too. So I just want to make this the best experience for everybody. Again, everybody plays a pivotal role, so star in your role, and we're gonna have a great time. The fall comes every year, and we will eventually meet again.

Perfect.

We can read.

There's a hole here. Yeah, just cut it like that.

Yeah. And make it open.

Oh, okay, okay. Slowly.

Yeah, can you open it?

The shoes will be For the Kia. Yeah.

Okay.

Breaking stuff's always easier.

You think they need an IKEA manual? I've been known to damage a lot of furniture even with the manual, so I don't know why they trusted me with this. I'm gonna go right here. But we'll be standing, it'll be like—

Yeah, you guys will be standing up.

Right here. And then everybody say, "Ah." Ah! Hey! As long as we don't have to put it back together. The shoes look good on you. That's nice. Hey!

Job is hard. This is for you.

Oh my. The same.

Yes.

I'm going to say it. So say it. Shi lu ju shui.

Shi lu ju shui?

Shi lu ju shui.

Shi ju ju shui.

Like water.

Flow like water. That's beautiful. Thank you very much. This is my second mouthpiece. Beautiful. You hold this for a second. Let me, uh—

Help y'all, Grandma.

This way. There we go. Oh, yes. Yes. Nobody's used this?

Wow.

Hey, kid, good. What?

Today, we got off the plane. Long travel day yesterday, but great sleep, good wind-up. Got him moving. Nice and slowly, always focus on some mobility, some core, and given that we didn't have court work, we did do quite a bit of a heavy lower body emphasis, try to get him moving, then finish with some aerobic power, some fitness.

Can you talk about the juggling exercise?

Yeah, that's something that Steph's done with his basketball trainer, Brandon Payne, for a long time, and it's part of just his skill work, his hand-eye coordination, his, you know, challenging his ability to react and do things like that. So he's got a routine that they've put together, They make it more challenging as he improves, and they do that on a regular basis. It's really meant to make sure we just keep a really big engine in the offseason, 'cause when the season comes around, he's very busy and he's got a lot of demand. So we're continuing to keep the engine large and keep him strong and fit and not take too much time off, 'cause he doesn't have that luxury, and he's very committed to what he does. I think that's one. Two, he's gifted with really good conditioning, and the game is a part of that. But if you see how the game's evolving, in terms of the speed and transitions and things like that, that's continuing to grow year in, year out. And he sees that in something that, you know, puts energy into because you have to adapt with the game to continue to be competitive and to lead as you want to.

After that, you drink this.

It's gonna like wash all the oil away. So make you feel better.

Got it. Make you not feel as guilty for eating as much hot pot. I got it. I don't know how many tours we've done through China, but this is my second time in Chengdu. Very excited that we're eating hot pot. I've been looking forward to this since the last time I did it over 5 years ago. Happy to be here and start the tour in this beautiful city. Thank y'all all for being here. It's great to meet everybody, and I hope to have a great, great night and some great food.

Thank you.

All right now. Oh!

Oh! Since you pick it yourself, since you pick it yourself and it's already double. The score is double.

So who made the most money in this game?

I guess it's—

How's Stephen doing?

Stephen, very good. Very quickly, smart. Big boy, I like him. Second time, I feel he can do this. Okay.

The first ever Curry store. It's my first time seeing it.

Welcome to Curry Store.

Let's go.

Woo!

Four-time NBA champion, present in the altar. 2022 NBA Finals MVP, record holder, 3-pointers made in history, most 3-pointers, all-time big, both titles, Stephen Curry!

Appreciate all the love and support from all the fans coming out. This is really cool 'cause a lot has changed in the last 5 years and having Curry Brand now, opening up our first store, having De'Aaron here as part of the family, things have grown and evolved and I'm excited to be back here to celebrate it. 1, 2, 3!

You ready?

Yes.

So much pressure. Oh, you got defense.

Yeah, Richard.

Yes!

From Golden State Warriors, 4-time NBA championship, here we go for 7! SBT! SBT! All right, all right. You have the ball. Okay, go to the bottom.

Mike? Yeah?

I need you to trim them down.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

What was the actual final play?

Well, funny enough, we were trying to get a lob, but their big switched on to ours, and number 16 He popped, he was open, he made it.

Sometimes you gotta make plays.

Sometimes the play don't work, you have to make a play. He made a play.

Passion, determination, and all in. What's your understanding about these three words and how does that influence your basketball career?

Those words and kind of ideals are the things that you can control in the game of basketball. You can't necessarily control whether you make or miss a shot, whether you win or lose a game, but you can control your attitude, like how you approach the game, your determination, focus, being all in, and, you know, committing to the team. So for me, that's been a big part of my success. Like, no matter how well I'm shooting or how poorly I'm shooting, like, I can always demonstrate those 3 ideals and enjoy the game of basketball. Stephen Curry. How many of these you think you signed during this trip? I'm going with right at like 1,000. This is about 300 just for one city. So it's a lot of good merchandise right here. T-shirts, hats, basketballs, shoes. A lot of Curry brand product in these streets. You know what I'm saying? Absolutely elite. I did not clean. Elite. What's up, Hypebeast? Stephen Curry here in Shanghai on the Curry Brand China Tour 2024. Excited to be here. Let's answer some questions. Can we just get the outro out of the way as well? That's a wrap. I had a great time with y'all. I'll catch y'all on the court. Perfect.

Professional.

Perfect. I'm an actor—

who knows?

Get my energy going!

All right that's good... That was perfect!

[APPLAUSE] [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] 4-time NBA champion, 2-time MVP, Final MVP 2022, go Finals! Stephen Curry!

A lot of great memories of Shanghai. Amazing energy, not only in here but in the city. So I'm happy to be back and happy to be able to celebrate all the great things that have happened since the last time I've been here.

What's your expectation about tomorrow's finale?

Just a great way to put a ribbon on an amazing tour. Like I said, my first time. I've been in China since 2019. And so no better city, I think, to have a finale event where we can bring everybody together to celebrate the Curry 12, Curry brand, and, you know, just continue to raise awareness about what Curry brand is doing right now and what we want to do in the future. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] Beautiful city of Shanghai, man. To have that many fans come out for our finale event. So many jerseys from all throughout the career. You can tell that they're— You know, passionate about my journey. Great energy out there. It's cool to get a little workout in, in front of a little crowd. Get me ready for the next season. So, on to the finale event. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] Is this every jersey?

63?

Where's this from? Uh, it's a prime racing team. Ni hao, China! Just want to say thank you so much for the hospitality. The Curry Brand China tour is officially over. We had an amazing time. Great energy from all the fans in Chengdu, Shenyang, and Shanghai. Thank you so much for coming out and supporting. Looking forward to another great NBA season. And I'm carrying all the energy and the love from every fan in China with me. So thank you so much, and xie xie.
