This Wasn't Your Typical China Tour

The video documents Stephen Curry's first multi‑city tour with Chinese sportswear brand Li‑Ning, covering stops in Beijing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Hong Kong. Throughout the week Curry meets Li‑Ning staff, coaches, and fans, participates in training sessions, undergoes foot‑scan and product testing, and previews upcoming Curry Brand apparel and shoes. The content blends promotional moments (showcasing new shoe models, the G‑POD system, and the Gentleman's Cut bourbon), cultural exchange (Chinese greetings, calligraphy, and local fan chants), mentorship (Curry gives drills and advice to young players), and personal anecdotes about his career, entrepreneurship, and hobbies. The narrative emphasizes the partnership’s collaborative product development, community building, and Curry’s philosophy of staying "wide open" on and off the court.
Chapters
Coach, are we back in Beijing? Super excited because the very first Curry-Li Ning tour is upon us. Four cities, amazing week out here. Ready to establish a new partnership. Do it big, do it better. We're wide open.
Let's go. Ready three two one action.
Hey, what's up, fans of the Li Ning basketball community? I am Stephen Curry, and I am so glad to be back in China, and I'm really looking forward to all the fun and exciting things this tour has in store.
Good job, sir. Yeah, thank you.
I like to read words. 万山皆开. Transports quite a bit.
万山 is like many of the directions, and皆开 is open. 万山皆开。 嗯,晚上,展开,展开。China live stream。Three, two. So welcome back to China, Steph.
Ni hao. Thank you so much for having me back.
It's new chapter.
New chapter.晚上展开。Perfect. 啊,大家粉丝们看到听到他说了就晚上揭开这个中文。We have a whole table of stuff. We got new shirts. Thanks, Jimmy Butler, for the.
Yeah, that's my fault.
We have the Batman in Beijing, so it's gonna be fun.
Yes.
These are the first shoes on court, on court that I wore in a game. So the JB fours, the Batman edition.
It's time to get back to the court.
Yes, sir. Year eighteen, which is weird to say, but also there's a lot of gratitude that I'm still playing. Sí señor. What's this?
Because usually that in China, when we use this seal, and by the way, this is a very old Chinese calligraph of your Chinese name.
Oh, really?
We gave each of you a Chinese name.
So that's why.
Oh, that's on the paper.
Oh, that's on the paper.
It says double bogus.
What it do?
Curry!
Stephen!
One drink, okay?
Yeah, Terry.
It's training day, day 2 in Beijing. We're gonna have some fun, uh, getting some shots up.
Hit the mitts.
Trying to shake the jet lag off a little bit still.
Oh, sinker. Let me check your hips real quick.
No.
I have to carve out time and be intentional about my training on court, off court, just to make sure, you know, taking advantage of this runway before training camp starts. So that's why we're in here.
That's pretty effing good, buddy.
I'm gonna have a good time. Li Ning Official Gym. Got some helpers from the CBA and high-level high school out here. We'll get some work in. Another day to get better. The Silver Fox in action. He looks good, you know? Coach Bruce Frazier, AKA Q-Dawg.
He's wearing one of the cutoffs.
The fox is loose, as we say. The fox is loose.
So today is a lighter kind of flow session. So we're not sprinting, not cutting, he's not playing. So it's a shorter, more targeted one. We got off the plane yesterday, a 9-hour flight, jet lag. Today, right now, just doing a bunch of stretching, mobility, make sure the body feels nice and fluid. Then he'll warm up more on court. 5 minutes, Q. Q, 5 minutes.
Right here.
Glutes, and then we're done.
Karl has more for me to do because we pay attention to details around here.
I'm just a consultant here.
Load into it. Yes, sir.
Oh, I missed it.
Wow, juggling.
Hey. That's pretty impressive. Here we go. Good recovery. Hey, professional.
Good.
Always winning. This is called joy. J-O-Y. Steph gets game-like shots. I'll take that.
You rebound.
You can help rebound just We're gonna hand me the ball, and we're gonna alternate.
There you go.
Hey! Five. Good, better. Six. Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
There you go.
Going up. Come on, Stephen.
Here we go.
There it is. 1, 5, 6, 7.
There you go.
12, 13.
Here we go, 14.
Got a little rhythm.
How you say soccer? Football. Yes. Oh no, get Terry.
Yeah, Terry. Yeah. Okay, we got soccer player Terry.
Here he comes, here he comes.
Hey!
Gotta have fun. Gotta have fun.
Both the time with Stephen Curry.
Just gotta have fun.
Part of his workout.
Where's Terry at?
Terry!
Terry! I need my translator. He's gonna take 3 shots, and then on the 4th shot— 1, 4th shot, I'll tell him when— they're gonna step in and guard him.
Oh, that's one stop. Steve Curry says we're not allowed turnovers. Steve Curry says we're not allowed turnovers.
There it is, 5-8. That's tough, Curry.
First time I played live all summer.
Scared.
Oh, spoiler.
I was excited.
There's a little caramel in there, which I can't really get down with them. Just a traditionalist, but I appreciate the thought and the effort. I'm gonna snack a little bit, but okay. If I had the controls, it'd be a little different.
How your driver's longest distance?
Two hundred. Oh yes, yeah, that's nice.
Oh yeah, that's nice.
Thank you, thank you. So we are in Beijing. This is a school that I came to ten years. 10 years ago. And it's a community school. Pretty awesome that there's a lot of energy here. Kids are really excited about sports in general, but basketball. There's a, uh, Coach Chen who is here, um, 10 years ago when I came. And also there's a player that I got to interact with who's now coaching. The young women's team here at the same school, so it's kind of a full circle moment of revisiting the past but being excited about the future. So kind of wild. The more I come here, the more these type of opportunities come up where you've been to a place, you know, so long you've seen it develop and you have a connection with it. So we're gonna have some fun.
春风化雨,润物无声,还说什么呢? 教师节快乐!Happy Teacher's Day,老师。教师节快乐!好,那我去。That's good. Whoa!
You are so clever, my man.
That's great. Okay.
Acting.
我们的 breathing 都好。Okay.
Okay.
I'll wait here.
Oh yeah, let's welcome the best team in the league! If there's any talk to be done, it has to be done with you.
Thank you both for being great coaches to all the young people that need it. This game is the best game in the world, and hopefully you can play it for a very long time.
Please remember that all of us fans will continue to support you.
Thank you.
Steph, are you ready?
I'm ready.
3, 2, 1! Let's go.
You good? Yeah.
Count step. Come on, good guys.
Go.
Come on.
Stephen Curry! Stephen Curry!
Oh, oh, what is that? Y'all team, please welcome Stephen Curry!
Yeah, I know it's a great opportunity to reach out to so many people who Who have followed my journey from day one, who have seen everything on the court, off the court, who might not be able to show up in person. I know this is a very big country. There's so many people that played the game, that love the game, and have supported me. So to be able to interact and encounter all of our fans wherever you are is really special, and that's what it's all about. We're building a new community, or I'm building the same, but also—
Yes.
So this is awesome. It's rare that I'm wide open on the court, but the mentality, the mentality is that I'm always wide open when I'm shooting. So we're trying to, you know, connect that to, you know, the future and the roadmap of what we're going to do with Curry Brand and Ling Ling.
Obviously, we keep asking. Yes, you finally make a decision now partner with Ling Ling, and after you make the decision? What's changed or anything special that happened?
Mostly we get to work. The, like you said, the shoe chaos season into my deep conversations with Li-Ning, and then the idea that once the partnership formed, that's the fun part because now you get to work. So testing shoes, giving inspiration around product and apparel, getting ready for this tour. So there's been a lot of good work in a very short amount of time, and all of it's hopefully leading to, uh, you know, when we start the season in a couple weeks where I'll, you know, be suiting up in my Curry Brand leanings for the first time. So I'm excited about all of it. And like, to the question, it's just about the work, building in, you know, the identity of what we're trying to create, and that's the fun part.
I definitely want I want to thank Stephen for making time. This is his inaugural tour with Li Ning, and we're fortunate to be able to have a small slice of his time to receive and greet all of you. We're grateful that you're here. Stephen and I started Gentleman's Cut about 4 years ago, and we're— the partners we have around the world and in the United States has just been great. We're in 44 states We're in 23 states already. We have our bourbon on United Airlines starting in January, and so we're just excited about what we're doing. We hope you guys get a chance to try the 2 cocktails that Eddie curated.
They're pretty good. I do look forward to this tour every year because it, you know, reinforces the great things that we're doing on all fronts. I obviously love bourbon. We're proud of what we have in the bottles, the reach that we've been able to have introducing, you know, our brand and our Our bourbon to different parts of the world is beyond my wildest imaginations. The cool part is this is a new way that I've never, you know, had Gentleman's Cut before with the little jasmine tea infused whiskey sour. So appreciate the invitation. Absolutely. So thank you for the creative ways I get to see Gentleman's Cut shows. Thanks to you for supporting us and the partnerships. Appreciate you being here. Oh, that's nice.
Glasses. This is a magnet.
Uh, this is the, uh, cushion coaster. Thank you so much. Wei means whiskey.
The first Chinese word for whiskey.
Wei.
Yeah, wei is whiskey.
You are an inspiration to millions and millions of people around the world, and everyone knows What your foot on the court, but today we're going to be talking about your personal passion, which is Gentleman's Cut.
It's 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. It's a passion of mine, you know, be in the bourbon, you know, category to create my own products, something I'm super proud of. And for the last 4 years, be able to share the brand with the world. Every great moment that I've had centered around people and connection and, you know, celebration.
So how do you drink your Gentleman's Cut nowadays? Do you drink it iced?
Majority of the time I drink it neat. It's kind of— I mean, I'm a traditionalist with a lot of things, but that is really no matter what time of day, I think drinking it neat for me, just the purity of it.
And then one more question for the young generation. You're such a very successful entrepreneur. You're an amazing basketball player. How do you spread your time?
The same way that I've had success on the court. You have to have great teammates. You have to have partners, you know, teammates that you believe in, one. Share your vision for what you're doing, can have your eyes and ears when you're, when you're not in the room or when I'm focused on basketball. So that's been, you know, a big part of the success and the journey of it all too, was, you know, there's been a lot of failures and everywhere in between, and I continue to learn. But I, I love to try, you know, new things. I love to do things that I'm passionate about, but doing it with the right people. Working with people who, you know, again have the shared vision and that you can believe or trust that is going to be with you side by side, like, that's the part that makes everything worth it for me. I do do a lot of things, but a lot of exciting things. That's amazing.
Well, Steph, thank you very much for your time. We look forward to inviting you over to Hong Kong, doing something with us, and showing the world what your amazing product is and how versatile it is.
I appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
Yes, sir.
Thank you.
Thank you. Hey, Matthew, got someone here to say hello to you. Matthew, hello, how are you?
Uh, hey, Mr. Curry, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.
You're my favorite basketball player. Like, I've based my entire play style off you. Like, the only reason I actually ever started playing basketball was because of your highlight clips on YouTube. I used to watch them every morning before practice.
That is amazing. I appreciate that, man. I wish you all the best. Are you still practicing?
Yeah, yeah. I actually just got into my basketball team last year. I'm still in the team and going for competitions this year, hopefully.
Congratulations! Keep working hard, all right?
Okay, thank you, Mr. Curry.
Absolutely. Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.
Thank you. Enjoy your trip.
How you doing, sir?
Welcome, welcome to campus. Thank you. This is cool, man.
This is cool, right?
Here is the statue of Li Li, Prince of Gymnastics. How many employees you said? About 1,200. Hello, hello, hello. That's our convenience store. It's a whole city. Yeah, like, yeah, whatever you need.
This is our R&D sports center, so almost like every technology, like wear test.
This is really fantastic.
We're gonna have our history of technology. This is Dr. Du. He will like introduce all the— yeah, our technology like path.
This is Dream Big Game 2006. It's the first shoe of Li-Ning brand.
I know those.
Yeah, you are so familiar.
Yes, yes.
From this shoe, we start to use some technology. It's called the material technology. It's called Bounce.
It's just simple EVA bounce on the forefoot cushion. around the back foot. That's kind of like a very original, like classic, you know, set for the old shoes. So basically, like, we barely have some like advanced technology around this area. So you see the time is very old.
2018, this shoe, the D1 Wave 7, it's a great one. It's famous known as the last dance.
One last dance.
One last dance for D1 Wave. This is the first time we try to use the BoomTack. One year later, The greatest masterpiece of leaning basketball history. Yu Shuai, Sir Tim Bum, our chief designer snails masterpiece. This shoe made us taking the leading position all over time basketball shoe industry. In 2024, we have two very good shoes.
I wore that in New York.
Yeah, yeah. And time to 2025, I think it's no need to.
Introduce.
You are so familiar with that. This year we have a new one, and you also know that it's called G-POD.
This is what Fred's wearing? Fred VanVleet?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What is that?
Maybe run it for 2 kilometers, 1 month, and we get back the machine test, all the same situation. And maybe 2 days, 2 days, 2 nights, you just go. Yes, just to reach the 200 meters.
That is cool. Okay, right, where are we going next?
We'll do the foot scan first.
Do the what? The foot? Yeah, science and the data behind everything they do.
Let's do left foot first.
How much I can drop your right foot? It's great to know the engine behind the stuff that we're building. I'm very, very impressed already, and I've only been here for 20 minutes.
2 more minutes.
So many cameras. Ever feel like a lab rat? Uh-huh.
2 more—
2 minutes or so.
Sounds great.
Uh, I need you to keep that A-pose.
Like this?
Yeah, like this. There's no feelings, no sensations, vibrations. Nada. Just awkwardly standing for the people. Buddy, you look like Tony Stark. I know. I'm about to start levitating.
I put in the floor two days ago.
Are you serious?
It's fire, right?
You like it? It's nice. It's the boss making the decision. That's nice. That's nice. Where are we going?
Is everybody?
Everybody's coming.
Everybody's coming in.
We're all going.
That would be weird. We're doing so as releases with like 600 people.
Coffee?
Hello, hello. Look at young chairman. Young chairman. Oh, that's crazy. A partner dedicated to creating quality products with sneakers that I believe in that will continue to deliver at the highest level. Shout out to Ant Edwards. We gotta get him on the ping pong vibes over here at Li-Ning. If you want to do the ping pong right, Ant, you know where to find us. I'll be over here, Karl. I'm gonna just do this. This is our warm-up for the day. We need to have these in front of like the TV.
The table? Hey!
Very nice. Look at that. Wow, look at that transformation.
Sit up.
Yes, sir. Find that range. Couple more minutes. Yes, sir.
Brown, brown, brown, brown.
Good. I'll hold this as high as you can.
Brown, brown, brown.
Get uno más.
That's nice.
Do you feel like you need anything else?
Nope. Lukewarm coffee.
You took the lid off.
Because I'm crazy, man. I'm crazy.
That coffee, it's not cold nor hot nor steaming hot, but likely 78 degrees, whatever the temperature is outside.
Just above room temperature.
It ruins the coffee for people who like warm coffee, and it's too hot for a coffee for people who like cold coffee.
That is correct. You ever Live a straddle the line lifestyle. That's what my coffee is.
Two, una más. One side. It's a nice towel.
Let's do it.
Yes.
So they do this testing, then they have court testing, and then.
For how long?
Ten minutes.
Tell them ten.
It goes up to sixty-five miles per hour. That's why they have this thing up top, so they can do a harness. So if they fall, they get caught.
That's nice. Nice lap. That makes you really appreciate running technology in the shoes. Yeah, running barefoot is a little different. Let's do it. I'm crying tears of joy right now. This level of detail, service, passion, just getting everything right so that I'm kitted up for the whole year. So appreciative right now. Thank you. You know what I'm saying? It's the little things. You're gonna make you a suit? I'm gonna turn me into the real Batman, for real. We're gonna dial in all of the apparel, head to toe.
My job is to, to keep everything on you looks good.
Absolutely. Their first take on everything is incredible, and then you got to fine-tune the fit, the material, The look, the tailoring of it to make sure it looks good. So the fact that we are way ahead of the curve, and this is the first time we're actually doing a fitting or doing this type of assessment, it's pretty incredible. Speaks to what they've been doing for the last 35 years. I have a big head.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm about to go and do a 6-song set, choreography, backup dancers. I'm thinking about, you know, maybe an acoustic number. We'll see. We're about to go meet all of the beautiful, amazing, leaning employees. Let's go see the people that make it happen.
I want to tell you something special. You entered the NBA in 2009. I joined in the same year. By the way, we are classmates.
That's right.
4 rookies starting our careers side by side. Let's be mad all year.
Thank you so much. I joined Li-Ning because of the innovation, the, the energy, the investment in doing things big, different, and aspiring to change the way that shoes are made, um, and bringing my personality to the You want them to perform, you want them to look good, you want to be able to share stories, and I think the merging of what Lening does great and what I bring is going to do exactly that. So I'm excited for the world to see what we all do together.
I'm so excited to meet you here. Yeah, it's just like a dream. I've, I've been a huge fan of yours for over 10 years. When I was in middle school, I used to watch your games on the television. Your incredible 3-point shooting inspired me to start playing basketball. So I have a question about basketball.
Yes.
Honestly, I'm not the biggest or strongest player on the court, so I'm always the one getting picked for the one-on-one matchups. So could you give me some tips What gave you the belief that you could become a better shooter just like you?
We have very similar experiences. I'm not the biggest, the fastest, or the strongest, but you have to have self-belief in what makes you different out there on the floor and finding different ways to overcome your physical, you know, difference on the court. So it's belief, For me, it's working as hard as you can and you're preparing for those one-on-one battles. But don't try to be like anybody else. Be you, and it's good enough. Okay? Be you, be special, be different, and do your best. That's all you can do.
Oh, thanks.
Oh, this gives you perfect advice.
Thank you, Steph. Appreciate it.
What's up, Steph? First off, welcome back to China.
Thank you.
Welcome to the Leading Center.
And my name is spot.
I've been a huge fan, huge, huge fan of yours since I was 12. And before I go to my questions, I want to share one of the most important moments in my life. Back to 2022, Game 6 at the TD Garden. It was so great to get witness you led the team to one of your 4 titles.
Yeah.
And playing The Bill Russell trophy. It was already unforgettable moment for me, but was even more like after the victory ceremony. You were so generous. Let me touch your trophy and sign my jersey. So that part of experiences stay with me forever. So I just want to take this moment and thank you. Thank you, man.
Thank you so much.
谢谢一下看到我们两位我们就非常感谢大家这么多年的支持,我们真的觉得实在多。 Are there anything you like, any hobbies you picked up lately you find really interesting? As your fan, like Dub Nation, your Curry fans, we know you pretty well.
That's good. Um, what do you not know about me? Um, I'm trying to learn how to play the guitar.
Really?
Oh, that's my new hobby. Uh, between my family, uh, basketball, Obviously golf is— I call it my side hustle. And, uh, all the other things that I get to do off the court. I don't have as much time, but that's my new hobby, trying to learn how to play the acoustic guitar. So maybe next year when I come back, I'll play a song.
Yeah!
I think just being ready for your moment, not letting the hard times in life keep you down, uh, you know, keeping belief in yourself. And the patience to know that at some point it's going to pay off. And I think 2022 was that for me. That's why I was out there on the court crying and having a good time. But even for me now, that's motivation to try to get back there.
Today they have a very special gift that they wanted to present it to our Steph Curry.
We grow together.
That's amazing.
We grow together. And look at their artwork.
We love to play basketball too. I like it. Oh, and you can go through all the artwork in here.
Welcome, Curry.
Welcome, Stephen Curry.
Welcome back. MVP.
GOAT. Real MVP.
We're gonna play a Drew and Lobo tour.
Oh yeah, wow. Change the game for good. We're a更好的未来来改变这个。And we made it with a little no-go, but it's a new year.
Chapter 8.
We love you, we love you.
Okay, let's cut to the future. We made it!
We made it!
Freezing. My first designer that I hired.
He's a design one. It doesn't pay a lot, but lots of room for you know upward mobility. I want to go up. Yeah, I want to earn it. You know what I'm saying? I'm gonna enjoy it. Yeah, and I'm excited.
Yeah, you'll come with me.
I like that a lot. That's fire. That's fire. Yeah, let me try it. Try it.
That's the only code that makes it into. You can take it.
I will, right? You sure?
Yeah, sure.
I'm leaving here with something. Shout out to D-Wade. Hey, thank you very much for the merchandise while I was out here. You know, I didn't want to leave empty-handed, so they hooked me up.
Bye-bye. 3 beautiful days.
Actually, it's only two beautiful days. It felt a lot, a lot of goodness in Beijing. Now me and the whole team, we're headed to Shenzhen for the next stop on the China tour this year. Excited to see the Grassroots League. We're gonna go see a new leaning office space and check out all the the fun energy there. So I got me some good work in in Beijing, ready to take it to the next stop.
Let's keep.
Will you say yes to me?
Had a long day yesterday, heavy on court, about 8 hours of different things that Steph had to do. Uh, so we've got a little bit of strength work but not much. 5-hour flight, so we got here, slept in, and we have a big encore day tomorrow. So we're gonna get him moving, do a ton of core mobility, but we are gonna get lower body work, posterior chain.
The pain before the pain even begins.
As well as use some tools that allow him to continue to get strong without him getting sore so that he can have a good session tomorrow and then do strength tomorrow as well. So Steph, go into plank. Colin, you go into plank. We're gonna do a plank test.
Let's go! Let's go!
Hop up, hop up!
He's good. Okay, you're doing one set as long as you can go.
Let's go!
Bring this hip back.
Come on, Colin, anything is possible!
Come on!
Let's go. I'm shaking with you.
Okay, I'm gonna take this off. Keep going.
Thirty.
When you're getting close, go to a side plank.
Yes, sir, Colin.
You got it. That's good, Colin. Okay, as soon as you're gonna collapse, you go straight to a side plank.
Hold.
You might get ten seconds. Other side.
Oh yes!
Last one, last one, last one. Yes!
It's gonna help the golf game. And down.
We hit bombs, we hit bombs, Kyle. Come on. Yes sir.
And Tim. Okay, 30 right here.
Yes.
Slowly shift back so you get full hip extension. So think full extension. Yeah, shift. That's right.
Back, back, back, back, back, back, back.
That feel too light?
Yes. Go.
Machines do serve a purpose. Dumbbells aren't heavy enough, or just some targeted work.
It's one of my favorite outfits Bergie's worn in his life. I, I was color coordinated. Look, little gray, little gray lining.
Keep the elbows in tight. 5. The hamstring curl.
Uh, the hamstring curl, but I was trying to get—
But he's just doing an isometric, so when you do holds, he's working, but he shouldn't be sore tomorrow from it. So on court, it shouldn't bother him. It's a strategy we can use either if he's training a lot or if If he's in season.
Yes, yes.
So it's measuring his blood pressure, so he has to lie here very quietly. Keep the muscle growing without making him sore. So you can do this if you have injuries, things like that. We just do it right now because he's on court tomorrow and we want him to continue to build.
I try not to be too dramatic, but it hurts like hell.
Leg it.
Yes, sir.
Two to go.
Feel like a guado. Oh man, I'm closed. We're closed for the day. I am officially closed. Be back tomorrow. God dang it.
Wow.
3, 2, 1, action. An open shot starts with open space. Basketball has always given me an opportunity to see things a little differently, and over time you start to stretch the imagination of what people think is possible and give young players a real path to keep developing. From performance and fit to how they feel in real competition, they're built to meet the demands of the game at the highest This trip was never about just one court, one city, or one event. When I look back on this trip, that's probably what stays with me— the people, the young players coming up, the fans who love the game, the teams working behind the scenes. Everybody has their own connection to basketball and their own idea of where it can take them. The temperature is not right, right? No, no, no. No, it's way too hot. Can you drink it this hot? No, I can't. I'm burning my tongue. Where are we going? Check out something right here.
So I love the idea of artistry.
I love the idea of like this idea of art in motion. And then some of the product photography will pop out. Less of a pixel-perfect image and something that just starts to feel like a bit more elevated. Action to more emotive blurry to a bit more kind of lifestyle. How do we blend these together and start to even think about it more editorially, like a lookbook versus like a key image? And so blend this lifestyle kind of crisp performance with more emotive kind of motion performance.
The only thing that's gonna slow me down today is jumping around to get all these variations of scale. Like, I might have to go ballet I'm gonna let that come down to whatever, but as far as the performance stuff, I'm gonna lean on you guys to let— because I'm, you know, I'm click-click. I need you guys to kind of say what order you'd like to do something for your warm-up, for your, you know. So I mean, I have it in order like this, but again, feel free to fill this in or take away anything that just doesn't work. And then, you know, keep us honest and let us know, like, you know, I only got 5 of these in me, or—
I literally have I'd have 5 to 7 of anything where you're getting really off the ground and making it look believable.
Right.
All the other stuff is simple.
It's just easy to film.
Great. So then I'll keep this maybe to one angle. I don't move. We just kind of knock him out. You know, whatever you would kind of start off with as a warm-up, I might as well shoot that just to kind of get the lighting right for your tone, for just make sure it's all cool, and then defer to you guys what you'd want to move into.
Isolation where sometimes you're not, you know, just you envision like a screen and he's shooting you as you're coming off where your eyes are surveying and that activity.
That's the kind of stuff.
Who would have thought we would have this conversation 10 years ago? Look at us. Look at us. This is all your worlds merging together right here.
It is.
It's all my— it is.
It is. That was nice. I don't know who I was—
who's defending me, but they gonna give me a bite for that. Behind the back, go the opposite direction. You'll see that on court this year one time.
Nice.
It's a look, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
This is the most awkward of whatever I have to do. Acting real cool on set, showing off the clothes, trying to get— what do they call them? Give them face? Is that—
Whoa, they call that serving.
Serving.
Where's Law Roach at?
I need some No. I cannot get used to this. Super spoiled right now.
I don't—
I'm gonna have to get the rookies to do this when I get back to the locker room. Fellas, it's time to go play some pickup. Lace my sneaks up for me, please. The old playground street. Oh, I lost it that time. Oh yeah, Batman got his cape.
Black Thank you. Coming in. There's a nice goal.
7,000 people in Dongguan about to have a great time. What's really cool about this place, it's a low ticket fee to get in. It's all about community. It's about serving the next generation of kids trying to play basketball, but giving them an amazing environment. So I'm all about this. This is pretty dope. I feel like a WWE wrestler. Shout out to GP. GP too. Stone Cold Steve Austin coming out the tunnel ready to go in the game.
See you, bro. Haha, finally. Okay, welcome to Dongguan.
Uh, it is a great opportunity here. We have been to so many of the China tour, China Games But this is the very first time here in Dongguan, and you taught me the name. Where are you now? We are Dongguan.
We are Dongguan.
We are Dongguan.
We are Dongguan. You can feel the amazing energy from the time I pulled up to the parking lot. So this is a very special place. Thank you for welcoming me to your city. Everybody, you are all here, baby.
You want a coach?
Peace.
Day 5 in China.
Love.
Shenzhen.
What are we doing?
Can you? Come on, come on, Stony, Stony.
That's what he does. He's a bucket getter.
Unreal.
You ready to have a great day? Yeah!
This is day 4. We have a beautiful session to get better and get ready for the season. Is that the Denzel? The Jamie Foxx doing the Denzel? You get your hands off me.
That's great.
And we're bringing in a bunch of kids.
Do you mind bringing them in from the pool?
Let's do a little master class. We're gonna have some fun. We're gonna do some drills. Putting them through some stuff that I do. Then I think we're going to the Shenzhen Li Ning office a little later and maybe have some fun after that. So it's gonna be another full, beautiful day. Oh, we have a dinner with some dignitaries, so having some fun, you know. Gotta get the work in first though before anything. So we're gonna go through kind of a mock workout of what we're gonna be doing later today for the kind of production stuff.
The school of Curry, Curry class.
We're gonna try and get up and down and get some energy too.
So it's gonna be a medium load workout, lots of shooting, lots of ball handling, medium movement.
In a second, you'll go pound pass.
So yeah, ah, there you go.
Yeah, all right, go back.
So yeah, yeah, yeah, side out. Ah, come on. 13, 14, 15, 16. You start, then you, then you. If the guy in front makes it, then the guy behind has to match.
You have a free one. Oh, oh, oh, my bad. Oh, do it again, do it again, do it again.
One more time.
Now we know the rules. You're good. You got the free shot. You got to go first.
You got to go first. Pure jump shooter. Pure jump shooter.
Let's hang out here for a while.
Come on.
Oh, top straight. Yeah, got 1-1-1. 1-1.
We got 1-1 left. We got one more game. See who—
see who wins this one.
Uh-oh.
He's still there.
Yes. Oh no, he left me back there.
Yes, nice. Oh, classy. Oh yeah.
Boom!
Better.
I'm gonna help you through this one. Boom! Mucho mejor. Nice.
That's almost like a buy. That was almost better.
And one! Good, sir. Yep.
Okay, that was nasty. That was very game-like. We're gonna show you some drills that hopefully you can remember and take home with you. You'll be able to share this with a lot of people, but I just want to say Thank you for being here, and hopefully you have as much fun as possible today. We're gonna bring it in right here. Eat, earn, and then we're gonna say train like Curry.
Eat, earn, train like Curry. There we go.
All right, so the first one we do is just two pounds like this. You say what?
Yeah.
No, it's fine.
I had a great time learning with us. Every single one of these amazing athletes had great questions. They brought the hard work. Thank you, Coach Q, for giving us some insight. Coach Q's helped me over the last decade plus, and like I said, we're still learning what it means to keep getting better. So hopefully you learned something too, and we're going to keep growing the game and changing it each day at a time. Appreciate y'all. Gotta make the light shine.
Well, obviously this is, uh, the place that Avogadro works. All the, all the elements that you can find here in the gym.
Oh, it's a legitimate gym.
Yeah, the whole floor is the gym. Like the sweat room.
That's nice. More work to do. This is nice. Cardio going.
Yes, got all kinds of—
just be one sweet.
Oh, the torture chamber.
So of course, to commemorate this great moment here today at the Ning Fitness Center, We have prepared a very special edition, probably the world's only, yeah, metal plate with your logo too. Well, actually we have 2, but now, yeah, we have one here and we have one there. But, um, yes, we'd love to have you here, pose with this metal plate, and then we will invite you to put down your autograph there.
Shanghai.
So we got another plate for our other Let's welcome Stephen Curry here.
What up, what up? We are here.
Yeah, we are having our live broadcast here. Okay, first, please.
Yep.
What's happening, everybody? Hello, everybody, checking in. The tour has been amazing. Thank y'all for welcoming me to China once again. It's nice to be here in Shenzhen though.
This handprint to signify this great moment. The wide open Chinese slogan here.
One sheng jie kai.
Yep, one sheng jie kai. The 2026 Curry China Tour here in Shenzhen.
Thank you.
Okay, let's hold it up and show it to the camera.
Look at that.
Nice.
So I want you to be able to enjoy that. So actually they have prepared this special for you, and I would like you to try to hold Hold it. Yeah, spread it wide and let us take a picture. And this you can keep. That's the reason why we have that printout so that you can bring it back on the flight, in the bus.
That's cool.
Yep, that you can read it through. Now we are moving on to one of the most important parts, the flagship store here at the Sungeun Learning Center. And of course they have decorated the store with your iconic Curry moments here.
Yeah, that's dope, that's dope.
Just stand here first at the moment, you know.
What?
Have a good look.
Yeah, I got you.
Well, oh, everybody wave when I say 1, 2, 3.
Wave. One, two, three. Hey!
In Shenzhen, China, our first stop here for the 2026 Curry China Tour. 不惊不觉,很快。呃,刚刚我感觉明明应该好几天前我们才。 It's been an amazing tour.
Like you said, a new beginning, new partnership. But what Li Ning has been doing for the last three decades, I'm just. I'm just happy to be in a partnership where we're meeting with new energy, new innovation, uh, the products that are already on shelves but are coming, the stories that we're ready to tell, and, you know, all the things that we're trying to do for the game of basketball and for sports. I've been really rejuvenated through this trip, so shout out to everybody at Lean Ink for making me feel welcome.
I'm really eager to hear from you. How were you enjoying the Curry song? You know about that, that's your song, right?
I know about— I don't, I don't know all the words yet, but I know about the song. Uh, I think I need to get somebody to explain how it started and how it's gone crazy. But even last night at the arena, uh, that was the first song in between and the dance. I was trying to keep up with the whole thing, but it was so much fun.
What impresses What surprised you the most when you were trying on all different types of our leading shoes?
So I think everybody knew I was— when I was a free agent, I was trying everything in the market, and there's a reason that I finished the season in the Way of Wade 12s, because the product spoke for itself. It was the best performing shoe that I tried. I love the style, I love the aesthetic. But to your point, the, the JB4 was the first shoe that I wore on court in the last, what, decade plus, 13 years? And, uh, Jimmy didn't even know. We were in starting lineups and the lights came back on and yeah, we were doing like our little dance thing and everybody started pointing down.
Yep.
And Jimmy got a— he got a— he loved that. So to start from that back in November, um, And to rock the Way of Wade 12s a lot during the season, all the different moments that I had, it speaks to high quality, the best basketball shoe in the market. And I want to be able to help build on top of that with the stuff that, you know, I get to create in the future. So I'm super excited to be able to work with the entire team, greatest team that I've been able to work with.
Woo!
We've got some stuff in the works. We're working pretty quickly with also making sure that it's right. Um, and like I said, that collaboration with the team has been awesome. I'm having so much fun getting back into the, the lab and, and, uh, you know, giving feedback, wearing the shoes, talking about the colorway stories that we're going to have. So, um, I know I'll probably— you'll see me in some Way of Wade 12s, you'll probably see me in some JB5s at some point, but know that there's some really good We have a lot of stuff coming down the pipeline for me, so we're already at work and I'm excited to reveal it very soon.
We will put all our efforts from the brand to ensure that Steph will always get the best product. And another important part is his signature shoes, and obviously we want him to be able to show himself, his personality, and his style and his signature shoes. Mostly in the past 2 months is, uh, we have a lot of communications to ensure, uh, Curry's newest product here, uh, from the first eye or first eyesight on the product, everybody would feel that this is Curry stuff. This is Curry's kicks.
There's 1,500 people pulling Up to the park, you know. This is what we do. That's what we do.
All right, so, Steph, what do you want to say to our fans here?
Liao shen shen!
Just want to say thank you so much for being here.
It means, uh, it means so much to me that you come out to support me, so thank you so, so much. Liao!
Out of 300,000 fans.
Yeah, you see a lot of fans here. We have 1,000 fans here, but it is from 300,000 down to 1,000 here. We spotted the Wide Open Curry China Tour here. You still remember how to say that in Chinese?
花 香 街 开, 花 香 街 开。 哇! 那 是 好 不 错, 那 是 好 不 错。 哇! I kind of don 't want to leave. It has has everything.
Okay, okay, okay. We we won 't leave.
We won 't leave.
Okay, we gonna have a game, right? 好, 我们 先 来。 好, 开始 啊! 好, 从 北 安 花 园 的 定 局 三 分 到 四 百 球 三 分 的 李 成 斌, 到了 我们 二 零 一 四 年的 十 三 分。 Guys, I'm funny! The championship ringshot to 2016, also making it a double AC!
He said he wants to challenge you with sauce.
Okay.
So what you got to say to that? All right, you want to take it?
What?
Oh, absolutely.
Oh, absolutely.
All right, here we go.
I like you.
I like you. You're a champ.
Yeah. Oh, hold on one second. You get this. There's so much love here. Thank you for coming out.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you, sister.
Sister.
Sister.
Sister.
I always look forward to coming back here to China. Shenzhen, you show me so much love, so thank you so much.
This is the first chapter. Are we going to look forward more every single year?
Oh, absolutely. Curry Brand leaning in, we're on to something great, and I can't wait to share this journey with each and every one of y'all. So look forward to some special stuff coming soon, for sure.
Thank you very much.
Steph, look at my haircut.
He's your logo.
I like it. Yes, sir. Q Dogg having feature Q.
The one sleeve tights, baby. Getting ready for the season.
I love you.
Hello, brother! We love you! We love you! We love each other!
Xie xie, xie xie.
I love you! We love you! We love you! We love you!
We love you!
We are here in Hong Kong! Let's have a great, great day.
Let's go!
A lot of the fans keep reminding us, 10 years. How do you feel coming back to Hong Kong?
I feel great. Uh, it was a great trip over here. I love the energy. Thank you so much.
Here, when you say thank you, you say do che.
Do che.
I'm going to teach you your name, how they call you in Hong Kong. Okay. Curry directly in Cantonese called ga lei. So we call you ga lei jai.
Ga lei.
So yeah, ga lei.
Ga lei jai.
Ga lei jai.
Yeah. Ga lei jai.
Ga lei jai.
As a high school player, Steph, what is the main thing that you wanted to remind them before they start the game?
Well, have fun. That's the biggest thing. That's what sports and basketball is about, especially at this stage. Have fun, believe in yourself, take some chances, and then good teamwork. That's it. That's the key. Good pass.
Shoot it. Here we go.
Here we go.
Halftime.
Oh, and the first half.
I like it. Nobody's really taking a three.
I'm not used to that.
Are you used to that type of basketball?
Are we gonna see more threes now by both teams?
Backstep, I like that. That's nice. Are you sure they just— yes. Oh, the pass.
That one, that's nice. 10 seconds.
Okay.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1. First thing this morning.
Ready?
Oh yeah, here we go. Oh, good pass!
Oh wow, one free throw is all you need!
Yeah, Black team wins the game! Good job, everybody! What do you say?
You will be performing the 7 each and every single squat, okay?
Knock it down.
Yes.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5. There you go, good job. Yeah, good, good.
2.
Yes!
3.
I like the arc.
Nice.
4!
Okay, okay.
Come on, here we go. Hey! That's 2. One more. Let's shoot it again. Yes, yes, yeah, there you go. Yes, yes. When you're out there in front of tens of thousands of fans, feeling all that pressure to hit a game-winning shot, what's going through your head?
That's a great question. So I try to take deep breaths to calm the nerves. I still get nervous, so if you don't get nervous, that means it doesn't matter to you. So I get nervous, which is good, but I rely on all the times that I've shot the shots that I know that I'm about to go do on the court, and then I'm okay if it, you know, I'm not gonna be happy with it. I know failure is a part of it, you know, you have to be able to accept what happens out there on the court. But I don't shy away from those moments because I work really hard for them.
So in your opinion, what makes a ball a popcorn?
I love that question. I don't like any of the extra toppings and all the other stuff and make it all fancy. So I like good, good butter, good salt. It's got to be hot and fresh and just a little bit of that crispy sound when you eat it, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
A sign from our—
Oh, that's awesome.
Okay.
Your favorite— Yeah, sure.
Just one.
Yeah.
Hey, thank you all for coming.
I appreciate the love.
Thank you so much. I'll see you soon.
My God!
Great to see you.

Absolutely. Thank you very much. Haven't.
It's been perfect, bro.
Been amazing.
So are there a couple more events for you before you leave?
Oh, absolutely. How's everybody?
Hello, how are you doing?
Nice to see you. How are you?
How you doing?
Good to see you.
Nice to see you too. How are you? How are you?

You inspired me my whole life.
It's been 16 years.
Oh, that's a full circle moment.
I'm gonna sign it here too, just in case that rubs off.
Thank you, man.
Sorry.
Thank you.
Thank you. Oh, this is my mom and dad. Oh, this is awesome. How are you? Nice to see you. How are you?

I appreciate you. Please join me with your bigger, bigger cheers because we have a very special important guest that I wanted to invite Please join me in welcoming our one and only, the founder of the Leading Bread. Please welcome Mr. Leading. You know now I can call you that in Hong Kong.
Absolutely.
So guys, I gotta say hi to the fans here.
Hello everybody, thank you so much. I hope you've enjoyed the time, and, uh, I've enjoyed my whole experience here, and, uh, excited to see Chairman Lee, and, uh, we're gonna keep the energy going. Li-Ning Curry brand partnership has been awesome, so thank y'all so much. It's so hard to pick one highlight. This has been an incredible trip, uh, from going to the grassroots leagues to going to the Li-Ning campus in Beijing to stopping through all of our stores and seeing the fans. So I've had such a great time, and this is the first of many. So excited to come back. I'm already thinking about next year for sure. Hopefully coming back with my own shoes, which would be in my own product. We're working, we're working really hard on not just the shoes, the apparel, but all the things and products that we want to be able to share with you all and the programs that Li Ning has been doing for a long time that Curry Brand wants to bring as well. So I'm excited about You know, sharing what we're working on right now next year.
Yeah!
He's smart.
He picks the thing he knows he can beat me at.
So exactly, maybe we should just go to the ground and start to go.
I like that challenge. I'll accept that for sure.
Because he knows that you are professional player and you gotta have the best product.
Oh, that's incredible.
Okay, get ready for next year's. Let's pose to the media and take a photo.
Okay.
And that partnership between Lining and Stephen Curry.
That's cool right there.
Okay, let's hold them together. Wow, 네가 시하고 되게 가기면 나 아 다이가 저희 첫 과의 시하고 원은 오브리 더 보해 들어고. Would you rather to hear boos, or would you rather to hear at the away arena to hear your own Dublinian fans?
Uh, A for sure.
I love it.
I love the silence. I like the silence, the boos.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Curry.
Love you. Thank you so much.
Good to see everybody.
Okay, thank you everybody.
Before you go, okay, let's sign off here.
Hey, thank you so much Hong Kong.
We'll see you next time. Thank you.
We just wrapped up the first of many leaning Curry Brand China tours. Incredible. Experience going from Beijing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Hong Kong. Love, you know, all the energy we get from all the fans that come out and have a good time representing everything that we got going on. So we back to the States and getting ready for the season, but shout out to Li Ning. I appreciate the love. Let's get it.
More from Stephen
