A brief conversational excerpt where speakers discuss reframing 'commission' as 'compensation' when talking with buyers and in agency agreements to make conversations easier; one speaker notes they've recently begun having this conversation with a few buyers, and another emphasizes the need to internalize the phrasing to appear comfortable.
Most people that I talk to are freaked out about the commission part. Right. The actual money part. Do buyers freak out about it? No, no.
I have shaped the conversation around compensation, not commission. And when you are talking about buyer, agency, and you get to the lines about compensation, those conversations are so much easier to have without using the word commission. And even in our agency agreement, it says compensation does not say commission. So really, when you're having those conversations and you're saying, you know, this is how I get compensated, traditionally it has been this way. We're seeing changes in our industry that may have, you know, we may need to revise how that happens. And I've only really started having those conversations probably the last. I mean, probably just like the last half a dozen buyers, because it's really only become more relevant.
I'm going to double click on what she just said. She's internalized it, she's memorized it. Right. Like, you can't be uncomfortable with the form and comfortable in the conversation.
