Short YouTube commentary summarizing Jay Z’s Grammy acceptance speech takeaway: the speaker emphasizes Jay Z’s advice that artists (and people generally) must ‘keep showing up’ to earn recognition and accolades, framing persistence as the central lesson.
A Grammy acceptance speech.
“Keep showing up.”
Last night, Jay Z gave a Grammy speech. And in it, he had some overt disses and some sneak disses, especially about why his wifey hadn't won album of the Year. But what I took away from his Grammy speech was this. At the end, he talked about how, as an artist, you just have to keep showing up if you want the accolades, if you want the awards, if you want to be someone who's seen as an icon. The biggest piece of advice he had from that stage and that moment when receiving that award was keep showing up. That is true in all things. So little reminder from Jay Z to us, keep showing up, y'. All.
