The video presents a series of short, diarized interviews with members of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) women's rowing team, conducted by director Stewart Cohen. Each athlete introduces herself, shares her hometown (spanning the United States, England, Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia), and comments on cultural differences they notice in Dallas and Texas (e.g., driving habits, horses on streets, accents, and weather at White Rock Lake). The participants discuss what they love about the SMU rowing community, describe their favorite post‑workout meals and music, and reveal personal quirks (e.g., favorite TV characters). The segment closes with each rower stating her personal goal for the season, collectively aiming for a top‑10 finish at the NCAA championships and expressing excitement for the upcoming season.

I am studying sports management and applied physiology.
I'm hoping to major in biochemistry.
My favorite thing about rowing in Dallas is the community that's always out there supporting us when we're on the water.
Dallas is very different from New Zealand.
Henley's a very small town full of very quaint English people, and Dallas is pretty much the complete opposite of that.
There are a lot of weird things coming to the States. How people drive, turning right on a red light, that's— that one got me a lot.
The weirdest thing about Texas is that you'll just see a horse, like, walking down the street. Like, I saw one today, and it was just walking along the street in a residential area. It was crazy.
I love all the girls on the team. They're all, like, really supportive and really sweet.
What I love about my American teammates is how welcoming and open they have been to all us internationals.
I really love my American teammates.
I was convinced.
Something that people think I say funny is anything that rhymes with ten, like pen, ten, Apparently I say them quite funny and no one understands me, so.
I would say the strangest thing about having a lot of international teammates is kind of taking on things that they say. For instance, we say now, we say indicate— indicators or bin liners or the car park instead of parking lot, trash bags, and what's the other one? Blinkers.
Yeah.
I really like how American my American teammates are.
Their accents, American accents, I've still not got used to them.
The weirdest thing about my American teammates is definitely the accents. That throws me off a little bit, and just like saying words and them just like not understanding what I'm saying.
Post-workout meal?
Is the dining hall eggs from Umpf.
Beans on toast.
I love gummy worms, so a lot of times I'll come back to my room, doesn't matter what time it is, I'll just eat gummy worms.
Eggs from the dining hall.
Probably a slice of cake.
Post-workout favorite meal is anything I can eat as soon as possible after working out. My favourite workout song is Work Remix by A$AP Ferg.
One Direction.
I really like house music.
Anything drum and bass. I love some drum and bass music on the erg.
Don't mind a bit of Lady Gaga.
Drake or 21 Savage.
I love rowing at White Rock. I especially love how we have a huge amount of water that we can row on and there's lots of different scenery to look at.
I would describe White Rock Lake as It's a hole of wind.
The wind on White Rock is the absolute worst.
It's home to SMU rowing, so you have to love it.
If I could be any character in a TV or movie, I would be Scooby-Doo.
I'd be Batman.
Shaggy, because I'm a little rough around the edges.
That we create a great family at SMU, and I think that that gains us a lot of speed.
I'm Sydney Centrup, and I'm looking forward to ending my last year strong.
My name is Victoria Franklin, and I'm really looking forward to having One last run with all of my best friends and just really making great memories.
This is gonna be the best season ever. And I am looking forward to killing it at NCAAs.
The goal for this season is to be top 10 in NCAA, and I can't wait to get into that top 10.
We're gonna rank top 10 at SMU. SMU's gonna rank top 10.
And I'm most excited for seeing if SMU can crack into the top 10 this season.
