Build Something First. Then the Network Comes.

You've probably heard the phrase that your network is your net worth, and you may wonder to yourself, how could I actually network with these people that I would desire to have the same net worth as? And unfortunately, you can't. If you do, it won't go past a handshake if you don't have anything built. If you build something, the network will instantly come. In fact, if you want to network with the people that you want to be associated with, build something first, because that way when you meet them, your conversation can go past a handshake. You see, you fail to understand one principle, and this one principle is there's no such thing as a take without a give. And if you come to a networking event without something to give, chances are you're not going to be able to take. And taking these people's information is very valuable. This is why networking can drastically change your life if you build something first. And you may think that you're smarter than your circle. Unfortunately, the very fact that you haven't built something already in the marketplace actually shows a clear example of your current competence. So if you want to get better at networking, make sure that you build something first. That way you have something worth talking about. Oftentimes in the pursuit of building something, you end up meeting the people that have higher net worth than you because now you're solving problems, which is the very thing they did to get where they're at. But who am I? I'm just some random guy walking outside without a shirt on.
