The Levels of Content Creation… Do This To Master Making Content !

Kyle Fernandez argues that creator mastery matters more than thumbnails or editing. He teaches a 60-second Instagram Story exercise: speak your video's core message aloud to force clarity and build on-camera confidence. The nine-level awareness framework maps how creators develop from instinctive to adaptive.

There's many things that make a video successful, but there's one key factor that's more important than all of them. And I know that you've probably heard the packaging is the most important, the editing, and so forth. But in this video, I'm going to tell you what's more important than any of those, because if you master this, the thumbnail becomes irrelevant. This is the exact reason why you could see videos on YouTube that essentially have no thumbnail and still have hundreds of thousands of views. That's because there's one thing that's mastered, and this one thing that is mastered is you. I believe making better content starts with making a better you, and the only way to make a better you is to work on you. And one way to do that is by practicing what you're speaking about. The more you practice on what you're speaking about, the better you'll speak about it. And the better you speak, the more compelling you become, the more convicted your audience is in you, making you a source they want to watch. So in this video, I'm going to show you an exercise that you need to implement if you want to make better videos. This exercise is something that I do every single time I make a video, whether that be for myself or for some of the clients that I manage. Now, this video is dramatically going to change. I'm not going to be sitting here. I'm going to show you the raw, unfiltered, and uncut version of practice in action. To be a better speaker, you can't just hope for it. You have to take action. And that to me looks like making mistakes live. The way that I do this is I go on the Instagram app, I open up stories and I hold the story button and I try to piece together my point in 60 seconds.
If I can't do it in 60 seconds, I don't understand it well enough.
The videos that are going to play right after this are clips of me actively practicing for the video I am going to make on this channel. And this is something you should do before your next upload if you want to be a better speaker.
This is one of my speaking practices that I use to become a more effective communicator, especially when it comes to content creation. For the next 30 seconds that I have left on this story and all the ones following after, I'm going to try and condense my idea into under 60 seconds to get my point across. From this video and over the next 9, if you pay attention, what you're going to learn is the different levels of content creation, but it's a mirror of the different levels of consciousness and the different levels of awareness within consciousness. There's 9 of them, and over the Years working in content creation, I've been able to draw the parallels between someone's level of awareness and their level of conviction in content creation, which ultimately leads to conversion. If you're interested, pay attention to the stories. If not, I'm doing this for my own practice. The first level in the consciousness model, the levels of awareness, is instinctive awareness. You get this the moment you're born. The moment you're born, you feel hungry and you cry to get food. You feel sleepy and you go to bed to satisfy the tiredness. When a content creator is stuck in the instinctive awareness, they are very self-absorbed and they end up chasing vanity metrics, like trying to chase the new trends to get more likes and doing different TikTok dances to look entertaining online to get more likes and get virality. They provide no value. A lot of the times these creators just hop on here to vent frustrations without providing any value. If you want to fix this, you need to start asking yourself, who is this helping? And try to use that emotion of the person you're helping to give them information rather than vent your frustrations or look like a clown for entertainment. Level 2 is relational awareness. You develop this in real life when you become aware that your connection is important. When you do X, you get Y. When you do Y, you get Z. Meaning if I do something, this person will do something else. That's connection. The way that this shows up in content is you end up becoming part of a groupthink. For example, a lot of people my age end up following the red pill community, and they end up just identifying with this group so they could feel connection and belonging, and they end up saying things that the group is what he's saying so they could be part of the belonging. People who lack the ability to maneuver through level 2 effectively end up just becoming mockingbirds of ideas rather than the pioneer of them. This is when Andrew Tate says something and the rest of the world says it as well. Level 3 is strategic awareness. What it is is the moment that you realize your actions create different outcomes, and when you use systems, you can leverage different results. In the real world, this is when managers, salespeople, or athletes would self-obsess over performance metrics, allowing them to impact their performance metrics to get desired outcomes in life. Creators who are stuck in this level of awareness oftentimes just treat their audience like emails, and they lose the authenticity with their content creation. Creators who are developed here use analytics to serve people better, meaning if I give more value and stay human while I do it, I end up getting more genuine reactions that oftentimes lead to trust in my audience. If you want to balance this, you need to control generosity and think of value loops, which means give first, then ask later. Now, level 4 is tribal awareness. At this moment in time, people will seek identity through their group. They will only speak through the rightness of their group. This is when people fully submit to a cult, a political party, and/or even a religion. The problem here is they always miss the main thing. They often just speak for validation rather than seeking truth first. The way to break out of getting stuck at level 4 is to always question, why do I believe this, and can I explain it well enough to why I follow a certain thing? If you want to be a content creator that thrives here, you need to lead healthy communities, most importantly with clear values and an open mind. Remember, a parachute only works when it's open. Same thing with your mind. If your mind is closed, you will never adapt. Oftentimes creators who are stuck here become irrelevant and are no longer up to speed. Level 5 is the Observer, and in order to get to Level 5, obviously you must master Level 4. Reason being is because Level 4 typically has symptoms of mastering Level 5 because they're very similar. In Level 5, when it shows up is when you step outside of your group and start questioning everything, including yourself. At this moment in time, this is when you have reformers or you have whistleblowers or innovators who challenge norms. Creators stuck here oftentimes are contrarian for shock value and create division for clicks. Creators who are developed here challenge beliefs with insight, not outrage, and teach through perspectives. If you wanna fix this, what you need to do is always ask, am I questioning to enlighten or to provoke? Intent matters more than virality. Once you master level 5, this typically comes with the most viral moments in your career because you're able to speak through a contrarian viewpoint, but also insight. Level 6, I think this is one of the most interesting ones. This is understanding, or what I like to call perspective awareness. This is when you have the ability to see every viewpoint as shaped by someone's experience. You develop something very important. You develop empathy over ego. In this moment, in the real world, people will often be therapists, diplomats, or anyone who could genuinely listen to both sides without becoming biased. Creators who are stuck in this endlessly argue to try and win and operate through their ego, which oftentimes, even if they're wrong or even if they're right, they end up looking dumb because they don't have the ability to hear the other side and empathize with the person. If you want to fix this, you need to summarize your opposing side's beliefs accurately, and the only way to do that is to understand. Understanding precedes influence. You'll use that to your advantage. Level 7 is the Harmonizer. I like to call this level the integrative awareness. This is when you're able to connect opposites. You look for shared truths beneath disagreements. In the real world, this is when you find somebody who's very effective at being a mediator or being a leader, a person who can unite conflicting teams. Creators who are stuck here still take sides subconsciously and seek to try and fix everyone, but creators who are developed here bridge polarities. This is the example of a Joe Dispenza, who bridges science with spirituality. Or somebody who bridges logic with emotion, or discipline with creativity. Anything that is polarizing. The solution: when conflict arises, zoom out and ask, what do we actually agree on? And build from that overlap. This will allow you to be way more effective in both camps, even the camp you don't like, and you'll be able to bridge the two and have a way bigger audience. Level 8 is awareness. I like to call this meta-consciousness. In this level, This is when in real time you could observe your thoughts and you end up responding rather than reacting. The real world example would be a monk that notices anger arising, or more applicable to me, a CEO that pauses before replying. Creators who are stuck here will end up posting impulsively. They'll react to comments emotionally and they'll just chase quick dopamine. Creators who are developed here wait, reflect, and refine. They release fewer pieces of content, but oftentimes more thoughtful pieces of content. They focus on quality over quantity. The solution: pause before doing anything and always ask, is this from ego, fear, or purpose? And make sure that if it's from the first two, that you switch to driving your point. From purpose. You'll be way more impactful. Now, level 9 is the last one. This is completion, or what I like to call adaptive awareness. This is the ability to watch your growth in real time and using adaptability to change your identity. People who lack this often can never change because they're stuck with one identity. And if you're stuck with one identity, chances are you might become dated. The ability to adapt without crisis or back out from change because of criticism is your ability to enter the longevity camp in the marketplace. When you are here, you can thrive. Think of creators like Gary Vee, continuously staying relevant. He's probably still on your feed for a reason, because he's able to adapt his identity without backing out due to criticism. People who master this will always be relevant. If you want to master this, you need to always ask, what have I outgrown? People who are operating in this level of awareness oftentimes can't answer you direct, and if they do, they would have said something like this: Today I think this, tomorrow I might think that, I used to think this. They're fluid. Okay, now I'm all done. That was extremely difficult. This is something that I do normally. I don't post it, I just keep it to myself. And I always do it on Instagram stories because it has that wheel, that 60 seconds. And if I can't get my idea out in 60 seconds, I don't know it well enough. So I do this and it helps me practice my speech before making videos. And this is the preliminaries to making this video. If you're interested in where I'm going to post this video, it'll be on my YouTube channel. If you want my YouTube channel, DM me and I'll send you the link. This is an exercise that you should implement in your life. Take an idea, condense it down into 60 seconds and see if you can deliver your point. If not, keep doing it. Eventually you'll get there.
