Because short-form content is deeply rooted in emotion, and emotion is what drives addiction. That's why people keep doing the same things regardless of the consequences, because they're acting from their emotions. Think about a 20-minute session scrolling on TikTok or Instagram or any YouTube Short. What happens is you're going on an emotional roller coaster— sad Shorts, shocking shorts, informative shorts, and it's just this gigantic perpetual wheel of emotions. The second reason is that it erodes your prospective memory. If you don't know what your prospective memory is, in short, it is the mental tab on goals that you need to do. It is the intention on finishing something. Every time you scroll on short-form content, it damages that part of your memory. So So that's why you're not completing your goals. Those two reasons are more than enough to why you should never watch short-form content ever again.
