You Haven’t Earned the Room Yet

Stop asking successful people for help when you have nothing to offer them. Build something first, a prototype or product that proves you're serious. Modern tools let you create something real in a week if you actually want it badly enough.
Chapters
I see it time in and time out, people trying to network with people vastly more accomplished than them, thinking that they owe it to them to network with them. They don't owe you anything. You have actually done nothing for yourself. Why would someone else do something for you? Doesn't work that way. Now, I know I'm being a little bit direct and probably even a little bit harsh, but that's okay. It's something that people need to hear if you're in that position, trying to have an extended arm to increase your net worth. And if you actually can listen to this without being insulted or offended, then you might actually build something and you might end up in the same circles of people with networks that you wish to have one day. So build something. It doesn't have to be something that has tons of employees or billions of dollars in revenue. It just needs to be something tangible that when you talk to them, it can be found interesting and you can actually show them it can be presentable and they can actually potentially even use it. Networking is way more valuable when the people you're networking with can actually potentially be a client. Rather than somebody that's just going to do something for you. And now with the rise of AI, you can make something pretty much in like a week if you really dedicated yourself to make something. The problem is you'll probably never do that because you don't have the desire to. You just want a handout. And if you found yourself in the shoes of wanting to network with people and not being able to, then you're probably wearing those shoes and you should start finding desire in your life. You need to feel uncomfortable. You need to look yourself in the mirror and realize that you are not who you think you are or who you want to be, and you're going to make massive change. And the only way change is invoked into someone is through immense desire, not motivation and not discipline.
