A short spoken piece explaining the 80/20 principle and extending it into a fractal view: applying 80/20 recursively reveals nested subsets (20% → 4% → 0.8%) that disproportionately drive results. The speaker frames the 20% as an "area of brilliance," the 4% as potent actions/qualities, and the 0.8% as core beliefs and identity, arguing alignment with these layers produces the majority of outcomes.

80 20. The core idea is that there are 20% of your actions that yield 80% of your results. And you can solve lots of problems by looking at life throughout this way. It's this recurring pattern. 80% of the wealth is held by 20% of the population. In your business, 80% of the problems are created by 20% of the customers. So how do you use this as a lens to make decisions and move throughout the world? I love 80 20, but what really lit me up is when I learned that 8020 is fractal, meaning it's a pattern within a pattern. You can apply it to itself. What I heard is that you could do 8020 of the 20%. And that's where you find out that there's 4% of your actions that create 64% of your results. What is my 4%? How do I find my 4% and then how do I fuel my 4%? Point 8% of your actions create 51.2% of your results on the layer below, and the way I always describe this is kind of like Russian nesting dolls. The 20% area is what I call your area of brilliance. And inside of that lives your 4%, which are your potent actions and qualities. And then underneath the 4% are the point 8%, and those are the core beliefs and identity. And so you create the majority of the results in your life when you're aware of your core beliefs and identity and your most potent actions and qualities and are living in alignment with that and expressing that inside of a environment or a container of your 20% that allows that to express more in the world.
