In this YouTube clip, commentator Tasha K (Latasha Transrina Kebe) asserts that she accurately predicted the cancellation of the reality series Basketball Wives three months prior, citing insider industry sources. She explains that the show’s decline in viewership and inability to monetize advertising revenue made it unsustainable for syndication, and references financial maneuvers involving Shaunie O'Neal’s insurance payout. Shaunie O'Neal then appears briefly to confirm the news, stating that Basketball Wives will not be returning. The exchange highlights the tension between fan speculation, insider commentary, and the official network decision.

Moving on. Shaunie, did I lie, y'all? Did the winos lie? I told y'all 3 months ago, and y'all said, "Tasha, they ain't canceled it." I told y'all firsthand that they canceled Basketball Wives. It's gone. It ain't coming back no more. But y'all, y'all like to be like, "Oh, you lied." And then when they come out and say it, y'all in the comments, "Tasha K said that months ago." Y'all don't understand, like, every single source that I talk to is in the industry. They work in the industry. And yes, it's Shawnee's show that she executive produces, but like, you know, it's about the numbers. It's the ad game, and they're not able to monetize that show with advertisements. And I guess they got their insurance money down there to rebuild that church that was messed up in Houston during that flood or whatever. So I guess y'all gave her the money. And so now she has an announcement to make. Y'all like to hear it. Here it go.
Everybody, I wanted to jump on here real quick before the news got out and people try to be messy and make this something that it's not. This is just called growth and, you know, moving forward. I'm announcing today that Basketball Wives will not be returning.
All right. So that means, in other words, they fired.
