Exclusive Interview: Kellie Ferrell’s Ex-Husband Airs It ALL OUT!

In this YouTube interview hosted by Latasha Transrina Kebe, Mark Fair, the ex‑husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 star Kelly Ferrell, discusses the breakdown of their ten‑year marriage, a court‑imposed gag order (Sept 23 2024), and the financial fallout from their joint venture, Nana’s Chicken and Waffles. Fair explains how the restaurant, once generating $3 million annually, was funded by a $420,000 loan that he claims he repaid before a civil court hearing, yet the court ruled the money belonged to Ferrell, froze his accounts, and transferred ownership of the business to her. He describes being improperly served, missing a court date due to COVID, and subsequently being held in contempt and jailed. Fair outlines his bankruptcy filing, the $74,000 of his funds currently held by the court, and his inability to pay the $3,900 monthly child‑support obligation. He reveals ongoing lawsuits: a $150 million claim against Rockdale County and additional suits against Bravo and NBC for defamation. Throughout, the interview intersperses promotional plugs for Kebe’s own shows. In the later segment, Fair repeatedly accuses Ferrell of betraying him—claiming he "changed her life," that she "took his company" and lied to get on the show—emphasizing personal and financial theft. He also critiques the reality‑TV environment, describing the Housewives' lifestyles as fake, noting how pressures have led to losses like Kandi’s restaurant closures, and reflecting on broader challenges faced by Black men striving for stability. The narrative paints Fair as a once‑successful entrepreneur (exotic‑car dealer, $2 million annual income) who feels betrayed by the legal system, his ex‑wife, and the reality‑TV franchise, while asserting his innocence regarding alleged abuse, infidelity, and financial misconduct.

All right, so you are here, not that you want to be here, OK? But you're having to come out and clear your name. You are the ex-husband to Kelly Forreal.
Correct.
Season 16's newest Real Housewife of Atlanta, OK? And interesting enough, you guys, like, have a court order. You're not even supposed to be talking about your marriage or divorce or anything.
No, not at all. It's a gag order that we're not supposed to be talking about it.
And when was that gag order put in place?
That was September 23rd, 2024.
So the marriage was that— well, the breakdown of the marriage was that thick that the judge— who asked for the gag order?
The judge just put it in.
Because she was going on television?
No, I don't know why she put it in, honestly. I think she really put it in because of me, you know, from how she did me. She didn't want me to talk about it, you know, the judge. But Kelly the one that started talking about it.
Okay. And that's how, that's why we're here now. So your team reached out. Surprisingly, there is a lot of things that are coming out about your wife. She's giving me baby Drew.
Who is that?
Drew. She's the other housewife.
Oh, for real?
Uh-huh. Drew and her ex-husband, Ralph. And you know, Ralph is kind of in your shoes as well. Like Drew owes a bunch of money to a bunch of different people. I just did an interview with a young lady that Drew allegedly owes like over $111,000 to. It's not the first person that's come out to talk about Drew's problems and, you know, even Drew's husband having to give her money and borrow money. And, you know, she blames her husband for the breakdown of the marriage. You know, they lost their business and all sorts of things. And so her storyline has given me kind of a bit of that. And surprisingly enough, you were supposed to be on the Housewives. They came to you guys years ago.
Yeah, years ago, but I denied it. I'm not a person. That does interviews or anything like that. Actually, you know, it's my second interview.
I can tell. I can tell you're very reserved.
I'm very quiet, laid back.
Okay. Okay. And so, um, you and Kelly, how long were you guys married?
We was together— we was married 10 years.
10 years?
Yes.
Okay. And so, um, I take it most majority of it was, was great?
Yeah, we had a wonderful life. Yeah, like, we, uh, we have any problem— we was married 10 years. We have no problems until, you know, the time when we, you know, we separated.
And when did you guys separate?
Um, December of 2022.
Okay, so that was just a little over 3 years ago.
Yeah, 3 years.
Okay, tell me about when you guys first met. What were you doing before you got married?
Well, um, I always been in the music industry, and I had a car dealership. So, uh, I met Kelly, uh, she was in college at the time. Okay, I met her through a mutual friend, so we hit it off, you know, fell in love, and, um, we stayed together for like 2 or 3 years, and then, uh, she moved back to Baltimore, had a baby, and then, you know, we rekindled. Um, I ended up moving her and a 2-year-old daughter back to Atlanta.
You're a good man, Savannah.
Yeah, I did.
A lot of dudes wouldn't even do that.
Yeah, I did. Yeah.
Okay, so, um, what made you like fall in love with her? What'd you like about her? Because I mean, she's really not one of the The favorites, the fan favorites right now in the season. But we're just trying to figure out what you like about it.
Well, you know, you know, we, we was a perfect match at the time. You know, I like the style, uh, swag, everything about it was, you know, it was perfect for me. So that's why I fell in love with her.
Okay. Okay. Um, and so you were already successful. How many car dealerships did you own?
I had one.
You had one?
It was in Buckhead.
Okay. Oh, what kind of car dealership you own?
Um, I rented exotic cars and then I sold them as well.
Oh, all right. All right. So upper, you know, to be in Buckhead, they even pay that rent, that lease.
Yeah, I did very well. Very well.
Okay. All right. Cool. So I just kind of wanted to establish that because, you know, your name is being drug through as if you're like, you know, this, a man that doesn't work, doesn't pay his bills, doesn't pay his child support, has stolen money from your ex-wife. But what did she do before? You said she was in college, but was she working? Working when she met you?
Um, at the time when, when I got back with her, uh, I'm sorry, when I, when we met, she was in college, of course. But then when she went to Baltimore, uh, she was working. And then I think she, she opened up a boutique store, but it wasn't successful. Uh, but it wasn't, it was nothing like that at the time. No, and she wasn't working though.
Okay, so you were the always a breadwinner?
Yes, of course.
Okay. Yeah. And what would you say figure-wise it when you met and you were already established, what were you making? Like, let's just say hypothetically per year.
Per year when we first met? Yeah. Oh, from the dealership, I was around, uh, like $2 million.
Damn.
Yeah, $2 million.
Okay. Now I do want to ask you this. What's the age gap between you and Kelly?
Uh, I think it's 12 years.
Okay.
12 years.
All right. So she was still in her 20s when y'all met? Maybe 30s?
Uh, you mean from the original time we met?
Yeah.
No, she was like 19, 20 at the time. Okay. And so you're 12 years older?
She was in college.
Graduating college.
Okay. All right. Well, I mean, that's understandable. I mean, like, um, we'll say she's pretty smart, you know, especially if you're going— Atlanta's not an easy city to get along with. So most women, um, if they're smart, they will get with the establishment, you know. And so, um, and so you were okay with totally taking care of her and her child?
Yeah.
Didn't complain about it?
No.
Gave them a lifestyle?
Yes, I did. Changed their life.
Okay. All right.
Everything you see on Housewives is me. Everything. From the restaurant, the house she in, the furniture, all that's me. Everything.
Now we got to talk about, like, how did you get here? Because you done lost everything. You lost the marriage.
Yes.
The kid— y'all kids are like— are not together. You're not talking. The restaurants are gone. The dealership is no longer around. How the hell did you go from $2 million a year to you're trying to pay child support and can't pay it because money is being frozen and held.
Well, um, and that was the dealership, but you know, we, uh, we started a restaurant while we was married and the restaurant was doing almost $3 million. Yeah. That was a dealership I had, but the restaurant—
And how far into the marriage did you guys start the restaurant?
Uh, we start— we, we got married in 2011.
Okay.
And we started the restaurant in 2016. All right, let's talk about student loan discharges in bankruptcy.
Most people will tell you it's impossible.
Even bankruptcy attorneys will tell you that. But guess what? We just got 2 discharged a few weeks ago and we're going to get a lot more. So if you're struggling with your student loans, you may be able to discharge those through bankruptcy. So just give me a call and let's figure it out.

I think we had two different ideas about us. I think we should take a break.
Well, me and Caleb broke up. Jermaine, you broke up? A new guy in the building though. Everybody's talking about him. Is he cute? What's his name? Think it start with a K. Um, Kai?
Kai?
Would you know him or something?
No, I knew a Kai in high school, but it's not him.
Uh-huh.
I hate to interrupt, but can you keep it down? It's a bit loud. You know, I found your yearbook. That Kai guy that moved in? It's him. I don't even know what to say to him.

The restaurant's Nana's Chicken and Waffles was making $3 million a year.
Mhm.
That's a lot of money.
Yeah.
Okay. Who was running the restaurants?
Okay. So this is how this went. Um, Nana's Chicken and Waffles is my restaurant. It's my idea. It's my concept, my recipes. I'm from Louisiana, from Baton Rouge. We cook, right? So I got recipes. Everything in that restaurant is my recipes. Uh, Kelly, at the time, I had got behind her on an event space. I mean, I'm sorry, event planner. She was an event planner.
Okay.
So I put money behind her. She was very successful, but, uh, She was going through it with the Brazillas and things like that. Um, I had, you know, Nana Chicken and Waffles was already, uh, my vision 10 years prior to we even got married. I always say I wanted to open up a breakfast restaurant. And, um, you know, I, I ended up doing it. I, you know, I prayed on it. Um, I rode by this building one morning and I saw it and I went for it. And it became, it became very successful.
Okay. Now, did she work inside the restaurant as well too? So you guys, it was, even though it was your vision. Um, your recipes, things like that. You initially signed— all the, the whole restaurant was in your name?
Everything.
Okay, funded from everything? Your exotic car business?
Well, well, the, the, um, the actual restaurant started— I got a record deal for one of these kids that I had signed from Baltimore. Oh, and I just put the whole check on the restaurant and it worked.
Now that's smart. You don't hear about these managers doing that.
Yeah.
Do you mind telling us who the kid is?
Oh, his name was Sonny Riley.
Sunny, right? I never heard of him.
Yeah, well, he didn't— it didn't get too far.
Okay.
Uh, the label ended up dropping us because they, they switched management and things like that.
Okay.
But that's what started Nana Chicken and Waffles.
Okay. All right, cool. So fast forward, you guys are doing great in Atlanta. So that's, that's pretty much upper echelon in Atlanta, especially for Black. And that's why a lot of people— that's what attracts a lot of people to Atlanta is because, you know, you can come from any background and make it. Especially Black people. And that's why, you know, it got the name Chocolate City. And so, um, you guys are banging and bumping, you're making $3 million. How much was her— $3 million in the restaurant industry. How much was her events planning company making at the time?
Oh, it wasn't making money like that. No, it wasn't. No, it really wasn't. No, I mean, it was just, um, I can't— I really can't remember, but it wasn't doing well like that, that it can really just take care of her. It wasn't like—
was it taking care of itself though?
Yes.
Okay, so it didn't have to bleed into the restaurant?
No, no, not at all. Like, you know, it's like when you book a fan or you, you do it and you do weddings and things like that, you get paid. But it's not— it wasn't a lot like that. Like, she wasn't like the top event planner in Atlanta. It wasn't like that.
Okay. Was this a way for her to— was this her passion, or is this, is this what she wants to do, or was this a way for her to kind of socially climb? Because I know a lot of housewives do do things like that, is they, they start, uh, event planning companies and stuff like that, or put themselves in spaces where— and they get next to event planners because it It gives them access to upper echelon, like, social circles.
Well, she went to college for fashion design. So it's kind of in that world.
Okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So let's fast forward to, I guess, was there any marital issues between you two? Like, did you guys, was there any infidelity?
No, absolutely not. No abuse, no infidelity, nothing like that. All that stuff I'm hearing she's saying on TV is for ratings.
Like what?
I heard she say I was abusive. Lies. Infidelity. Lies.
You don't give me abusive.
I don't do none of that. Absolutely not.
You give me like you sit at the front of the church.
Right. I don't do none of that. Yeah.
Like, yeah. Yeah. Okay, so you've never—
No.
There are— because I mean, I guess with the police report that's out there and the arrest, You guys both went to jail.
Yeah, we both went to jail.
Okay. And it was for arguing.
Nobody put their hands on you. It was just a simple situation where, uh, we was arguing. The police said, okay, somebody got to leave. Uh, we both didn't leave and he locked both of us up. And that's what happened. Exactly. It's an open record. You can see that in court. You know, it's open documents.
Okay.
That's what happened.
Okay. So let me ask you something. So if everything was going good, you know, you're making $3 million a year in a restaurant. She's fulfilling her passion, even though it's still trying to get off the ground. At what point, because this is, even though she's on this season, you guys were approached by Truly Original.
Yes.
Which is the producer of Real Housewives of Atlanta to join the Real Housewives of Atlanta. What, at what point in your marriage were you guys approached?
We was, uh, I would say we was approached 2 or 3 times during the marriage. Uh, roughly about 6, 7 years ago.
But who referred you? How'd you get that referral?
Um, I guess, I think it was her friends, someone asked her when she had the event planning, she had the office in Buckhead.
Okay.
And they came to her about it then. And I was like, no, I'm not doing it. I don't want them people in my house.
So how did she feel about you saying no?
She was a little upset, but life went on.
Okay. She didn't feel like you was holding her back or anything?
No.
She didn't start to resent you?
No, no, no. We was very private. And she was like that at the time too.
Okay.
And you know, we was making money, so we didn't need that show.
Okay. Because a lot of people do do it to expose their businesses more.
Nobody on that show done made it. Who you know on that show made it? Please tell me. Exactly.
I didn't have this Mark during the first attempted interview, okay?
Right.
Mark said, tell me right now, okay? And you said you already had money. So they kept coming back. Why is that?
Because they don't— I mean, no, I mean, that show is terrible.
Okay.
And they just, they destroy, destroy Black men. As you can see, they let them people use— they let them use them up, make the money off of them. They destroy the Black man. You get what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So it's terrible. So a lot of people, a lot of people don't even want to go on that show. So people with families, um, probably stay away from that show with the right mindset. You see what I'm saying? Because it's going to destroy your life. That's how I see it.
And you foresaw that, so you were just like, you're not letting anything come in.
That's not a positive show. When we had that restaurant, we had, Kelly was on a bunch of positive shows, like Guy's Grocery, Food Network, Oprah station. They was calling to do family stuff.
Nice.
And that's why I was like, let's stick to that. You see what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Like get a cook show or something like that.
But nothing that involves drama. No, nothing negative.
Yeah, that's drama.
Okay. So I guess it seems like kind of the fairy tale, right? It was. You're doing good. You got your young, hot wife. You got restaurants. She doing her thing. You guys are attracting TV networks. She's getting booked. She's getting gigs and things like that. So at what moment, do you remember this moment verbatim? Like, did it turn bad? Like, you know how people sit down and be like, where did it go wrong? Because I mean, you guys were, even though you were married like 10 years, you were together like 14, right?
Yes. Yes.
When did it go bad? Do you remember that moment?
Um, like I said, we never had no problems with me. It went bad. Um, She, you know, her 2-year-old daughter that, you know, got raised, she was 14 at the time. And I moved my daughter in from Louisiana and, uh, they got into it. Uh, but it was a situation that could have been fixed, but we both took sides and it just, it just couldn't get repaired.
So your marriage had problems, started to have problems based on the children not getting along?
Yeah, children.
And then your parents?
It wasn't even, I mean, We got along great as a family, but, um, when they got into it, uh, she treated my daughter a certain kind of way and I didn't like it. And I just wanted, you know, us to fix it, but it just—
like, how did she treat your daughter?
Um, what they— we was— I think we was in LA at the time and, uh, we was at a fight, right? And, um, we got a phone call that they was fighting. So, like, fighting, fighting? Yeah, well, they were just tussling. No blood, nobody went to the hospital or nothing like that. And we got the phone call, you know, we flew back home and, you know, she kind of treated my daughter wrong, telling her she got to get out, wanting to fight and things like that. And I'm like—
She tried to fight your daughter?
Yes.
How old is your daughter?
My daughter was— she's 27 now. I think she was like 24 at the time, something like that.
Okay. And how old was her daughter?
She was 14. Yeah, she was 14. Yeah. So, you know—
So your daughter was like fighting—
But they didn't fight though. It was just like some tussling back and forth. It wasn't nothing like that. Her daughter took some out my daughter's room. It wasn't no, no, no bad fight like that to be where we at today. It wasn't.
Um, and, and just to protect, we're going to be protecting the identities of the children.
Okay.
But we're just, because you know a lot of people will just be like, the kids, how the kids break down the marriage if y'all was going good, the money and everything, right? So you have a daughter that came to live with you. Had your daughter ever lived with you before?
No, you know, she come visit every, every summer with us. Okay.
So she was, Kelly was used to your daughter being there.
Yes.
We married into that. Both of us, you know, we both had kids. Okay.
All right, great. So her 14-year-old daughter, was her 14-year-old daughter primarily living with you guys as the only child?
Uh, yes. Yeah. Well, yeah, from the beginning. Yeah.
All right. So older daughter, your daughter takes something out of her daughter room and—
No, her daughter took some out of my daughter room.
Oh, her daughter took something out of your daughter room. Your daughter obviously got upset and then, "Don't go in my room." I mean, sibling stuff.
Whoever got siblings, we done been through that, all of us.
Okay. So you guys get a call from LA that you gotta come check on these kids 'cause they losing their shit.
Yeah, well, we had a nanny and the nanny called and said they was fighting. So it wasn't, like I said, it wasn't bad. Nobody got hurt.
You had a nanny for a 24-year-old and a 4-year-old?
No, no, the nanny was for the kids 'cause we got 3 kids together. Oh.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
I got you. All right. So, um, so you get there. Now, how was Kelly treating your daughter?
Um, she just went— she was just too extra, you know, like, uh, trying to fight her, kicking out the house, um, throwing her clothes out the room, that kind of stuff, right? So I'm like, we're not gonna do that. Like, you're not gonna treat my child like that. I didn't hit your child since she was 2 years old, and I never would do nothing like that. You know what I'm saying? So it got to that. And that's why I defended my child.
Okay.
Yeah.
So basically you said my child's not leaving?
No, absolutely not.
Okay.
No.
I mean, that's fair. She didn't have nowhere to go probably. Obviously that's why she's living here.
She came from Louisiana.
Okay.
Yeah, she came from Louisiana.
So she wanted her to go back to Louisiana or just get her out the house?
No, it just, just, just overreacting. That's what happened. Yeah.
That's interesting. Did they butt heads because maybe your child was like 20, in her 20s?
No, no, we all got along. It's a great family.
Did she disrespect Kelly? Like, cause I'm trying to figure out like why she would.
She never did. Mm-mm.
Okay.
Yeah, it's just a situation like, you know what, when, uh, sometimes when kids not yours, you know, even though, uh, you look at them like it's yours, you supposed to marry into that and treat them the same. But sometimes it get outta hand and that's, that's just what happened.
So basically you guys started fighting and it led to the breakdown of your marriage. Based off of just how you guys are treating each other and the kids' situation. Yeah. Okay. That's, that's unfortunate because when the kids get older, they go off and they get grown and they don't care about y'all.
I know. They, they, they, the kids be gone and now look at us. You see what I'm saying? But you know, it's like, um, I mean, I tried to repair it, but it just couldn't get there. I really did.
What all did you do to try to repair your marriage? Um.
We was, you know, uh, we, we tried counseling. The counseling, it didn't really work. I don't like counseling stuff, really, honestly. I can't— you know, I'm a person that I think I can fix it myself. Um, so we, we tried that. Uh, you know, we still was, you know, she had moved out and, uh, we still was, you know, dating and trying to make it work, but it just didn't work because I, you know, the thing is I just wanted to, to fix it and make it be back as a family how we were. And that was my whole goal.
And how long did you try to fix it after you guys, like, because you officially separated in 2022. Was that when everything started?
Well, yeah, yeah. I tried, you know, I think it was up to like a year. And then it just kind of went left when, you know, the situation about the money happened.
So, okay, let's talk about the money. So in 2022, was Nana's Chicken and Waffles still popping?
Yeah.
Okay. We're still making a lot of money. So now you got this issue between the kids, y'all, you know, not seeing eye to eye. Okay. And now this money situation. What type of money are we talking about? How much?
Um, so what happened? Uh, we, you know, Nana Chicken and Waffles was very popular, very popular. We would have a 2 to 3 hour wait, you know, over the weekend. Um, So, you know, it was time for expansion. We was about to open up a location in McDonough, which she have now. And then I had another location downtown. So we applied for a loan. Well, I applied for the loan and it was for $420,000.
To open up the second?
To open up both, two new locations. Two new locations. I got approved. So by this time, Kelly had left. When we got into it, she ended up moving out. Okay. When she moved out, you know, the money hit the account, I think like March 1st, if I'm not mistaken. Um, Kelly, um, went on a trip. Well, she just started spending crazy, and I always been over the funds and everything. That's been me since day one. My business manager calls me and tells me that, uh, what's— what is Kelly's doing? Uh, like I said, it was around March. Yeah, March 1st.
Okay.
Kelly spent like $37,000 on her birthday, just splurging, going on her birthday. Yes. And it was actually out here in Tulum. That's what— that's what she was. So when he told me that, I'm— I'm looking, uh, I log in and look into the account, and she really did. Um, he's like, well, man, I mean, I called him back. I said, what do you think we should do?
Business funds?
Yes. This was business money. It was earmarked for—
That can get your ass locked up.
That's what I'm trying to say. So the money was earmarked to open two locations. That's what we applied for, right?
Okay. But you were always over the money the entire marriage. Of course.
Yes.
So now she's living on her own. Yes. Managing money.
Yes. Yeah. That's what happened. Yeah. So she got access to the account. You know what I'm saying? So, and this, this business account was account that I opened that was in my name, but I added her as a signer, you know, when we started the restaurant. Oh shit.
Mm-hmm. Okay.
So, um, you know, she's swiping the card, spending all this crazy money, and the business manager were like, man, we probably just need to move the money, you know, cause, uh, we don't want y'all have to go into y'all regular funds to finish these locations. I, uh, you know, I immediately moved the, I moved the funds over to my, uh, other business account. So when she got wind of it, she, I mean, her and her attorney took me to court, to civil court, to return the funds.
The business funds?
Yes. Yes.
And did she win? Huh? Did she win?
Yeah, she won.
So how did she win that?
Well, this is the—
Because you could have easily proved that she was—
This is the crazy thing. Craziest thing in the world. This was the worst day of my life, and this is why I'm here right now. I missed that court date and I'm going to bring that back. I was improperly served. I wasn't even supposed to be in that courtroom the day this happened to me because I was improperly served. They gave the paperwork to my nanny, not me. Anybody know the law, they got to put it in your hand.
Exactly.
So that day came and I actually had COVID on that day. I got all my documentation, right? And I didn't have an attorney at the time because the attorney that I had You know, it was for a divorce because Kelly had filed for divorce in April.
Okay.
Right. So, um, the attorney was like, well, I'm sorry, I can't go to court for you for civil because I only do marital. So I said, okay.
So you didn't have time to go find—
I didn't. Yeah. So I called the court. I said, listen, I got COVID. I cannot make it today. Uh, you know, I think it was the clerk or somebody. It was like, okay, well, you need to get an attorney and try to fix this. Right. So when I missed that court date, uh, Kelly and her attorney They know I was not properly served. To this day, they know it. They go in the courtroom and tell the judge that she's the CEO and the COO of my company. Her name was on nothing. Nothing. To this day, it's still in my name. It's my company. So the judge didn't do no due diligence, and she gave her my company.
She gave her your company?
She gave her my company.
Mm-hmm. So was she suing for ownership of the company?
No, she just wanted the money returned. That's what she took me to court for. That's what she took me to court for.
But did the judge look at the loan paperwork to see who the money belonged to?
The judge didn't look at nothing. She didn't do nothing. She didn't— the judge didn't look at the trademark. It's in my name. She didn't look at the EIN, the Secretary of State. The lease is in my name to this day, right? They didn't look at nothing. No.
Did you appeal the—
I did. I finally got me an attorney. And this is the crazy thing about it, right? So, um, I didn't know my company was going or nothing like that because I missed the court date. So, um, I finally, I'm like, well, let me go get an attorney, you know, for the civil situation. And then, uh, I end up getting another attorney for, uh, for the marriage, right? Marriage. So, um, I go to the bank. Um, it's Truist now, right?
Okay.
I go to the bank and try to get some money out the bank and, uh, it didn't work. So I go sit down and I wait for the manager and the manager walks up and says that, hey, Mr. Fair, how you doing? I said, I'm good. Uh, well, you can't get any money out the account, uh, today. I'm like, what you mean? Why? And she said, your wife, an attorney, just came over and brought some paperwork from the judge saying that you can't get no money out the account. The account has been forwarded over to Kelly. It's a, it's an account now, and the business is hers. You know, that's what happened.
A divorce judge is supposed to do that.
That's what—
no, no, I'm just saying any, any assets that are Accumulated during a marriage, that's supposed to be settled under a divorce terms.
Of course. Yeah. We all know that.
And she had filed for divorce.
Yes. And then— This happened, all this, everything I'm telling you right now happened before the divorce. Everything happened before the divorce. Everything happened. Yeah. So I get in there, you know, now I'm like going crazy because they took my money. They took my money. This is how I was living, right? And everybody know that about me. This is my restaurant.
I mean, did you cut Kayla off or something? Absolutely not.
No, absolutely not. Were you paying the bills at her house?
Her new place too when she moved out? Uh, no, like when y'all separated?
No, she was paying it because we was paying ourselves when we had the restaurant. We would pay ourselves.
So yeah, you, you draw salaries from—
Yes, yes. Yeah, so I, like I said, the manager said I couldn't get no money out the account. Now I'm going crazy. I'm like, are you serious? You can't do that. It's against the law. It's my account. The name, the Secretary of State is in my name. You see what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So how can you take account of my account from me if— and Kelly was just a silent but the judge gave her my company. Hmm. And you got all, you got all the black and white. My team sent you the black and white so you can see.
No, I looked at it and that's why I needed you to explain it because I'm like, how does this happen?
That's right. It's against the law what happened to me. It can't happen.
I don't even think she, I think that should have been, that decision should have been made under your divorce.
Of course.
Of course. If you are forced to sell the company, split the assets, but taking a company from you to give it to your wife, and you guys both were making money from this company.
Yes. Okay, the company is marital.
It's marital. It should be protected, right, by the marriage, right?
Right. But, but when I tell you what happened to me, you won't believe it. That's what, that's what happened. You see what I'm saying? So, um, you know, moving forward after, you know, after that happened, now I'm like, I ain't had no money, right? So, um, you know, I borrowed the money. I ended up getting an attorney. The attorney come on board and, um, she filed a motion to vacate because the attorney was like, hold up, uh, y'all doing this man wrong. Like, you, uh, you can't give nobody's company away. And I wasn't there to represent myself, you know, to do that, right? Right. I'm gonna tell you, for example, I always tell people, uh, Elon Musk, he's a billionaire, right? If he missed court, would they give his company away?
No.
Married or not married, right?
No.
Of course, that's what happened.
You got like 20 days to comply. They may issue like a, some sort of, uh, fine or something for you missing court, or giving you an extension. They don't just make a decision without you being there.
You know what I'm saying? Like, that wouldn't happen to nobody in this world, but that's what happened to me.
That sounds like it's kind of borderline like fraudulent.
It's fraud and perjury what happened.
And like I said, you weren't trying to cut Kelly off financially. You weren't trying to—
No, absolutely not.
You guys were both—
I didn't take that money to be spiteful or nothing like that. No, it was— that money was earmarked for a certain reason.
Because if not, you get in trouble for that.
Of course.
Yeah, like I know that when you have business, you apply for a loan, you have to use that loan for that. And if not—
I think we have two different ideas about us. I think we should take a break.
Well, me and Caleb broke up. Jermaine, you broke up? There's a new guy in the building though. Everybody's talking about him. Is he cute? What's his name? I think he start with a K. Kai?
Kai?
Would you know where my son—
No, I knew a Kai in high school, but it's not him.
Uh-huh.
I hate to interrupt, but can you keep it down?
It's a bit loud.
You know, I found your yearbook. That Kai guy that moved in, it's him. I don't even know what to say to him. Say what? You ain't supposed to say. You supposed to put your mouth on it.
Hazel?
Hey, guys. What? Hey, you live here? You on a break, right? That means you can do what you want to do, child. It's hot girl summer. What's up?

Like I said, I didn't take the money to be spiteful, right? I had already returned it before that court date. I had already returned $320,000 back into that account because we had contractors and things like that. So I was putting the money back in the account. The money was already back in the account before that court date.
So you could use it to build out both locations? Yes.
The money was back into the account before that court date. My business manager told Kelly and her attorney, why y'all taking a man to court? He done put most of the money back in the court already. I mean, you know, in the account.
So let me ask you this. Like, were you guys going to continue, like, even though you were divorcing and she had filed for divorce, was it in your mind that you guys were just going to operate the businesses as a divorced couple?
Yes, we was going, you know, um, she was supposed to have the location that she opened in, uh, McDonough. I'm supposed to keep the one in Conyers.
Okay.
And then that's what happened. But, you know, when they took everything from me, I just let— you know, because with the, uh, the restaurant in Conyers, I let it close because I'm like, like, I'm not gonna let you and your family make money off my spots like that and I'm not making nothing. So I let it close. I let the lease end.
That's crazy. I'm sorry that this happened to you.
No, it's okay. That's what happened.
So now let's fast forward to now. She's on television. There's all these issues about her financial issues, about her, uh, I guess having financial issues. I guess she's blaming it on you.
Of course she blaming it, but I just told you everything gonna happen. You know what I'm saying? Like, I put all that money back in that account, right? So she didn't pay a dime of it back. Note, the loans, all that stuff, she didn't pay none of it back.
So she took the companies from you and you had to put the money back.
Yes.
Why do you owe the money?
Yeah, that's a good question. That's the situation with the judge. The judge, you know, even with my final divorce decree, Uh, the judge gave Kelly my company in 2022, right? Uh, 2024, we got a divorce. In my divorce decree, the judge brung it up that, um, it's a marital business. But guess what she did? She still gave Kelly the company. But only thing I— only thing that I got out of my divorce when I walked away was 48 days in jail and half the debt. She still gave me half the debt from the company.
But the company wasn't yours.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
So you mean that the divorce judge undid what was done in 2022 and gave you back half?
She gave me half the debt.
After she had already spent.
She gave me half the debt, but she gave her the company.
Oh no. That, that, oh no. Oh no. I would have pulled a quick bankruptcy fast. And oh no. And put it all on her.
Yeah.
Did you file bankruptcy?
I filed bankruptcy, yes.
Do you still owe that debt?
Uh, well, I'm still going through it right now because the, uh, trustee of the bank, uh, that's over the bankruptcy, he's doing some research because they're holding my money. Uh, like, we sold the house, um, the judge granted her like $185,000 or something like that, and they gave me $84,000. I owed my attorney at the time $15,000. So Kelly and her attorney you know, being, you know, evil, they go file a fake garnishment on my money and got my money held up right now. Like $74,000 right now are just sitting in the court. They won't release the money, but she's around here talking, you know, saying child support, this and that. And I'm like, release my money so I can pay the child support. We can go about our business.
She has your own child support?
Yes.
And you can't pay the child support?
Yes.
Well, because The money.
They got my money held up and the judge did some illegal stuff. Uh, you know, we're gonna say alleged.
I don't want you to get in trouble for that just because you gotta prove it. But I just know how these crackers are. So there were some things that was incorrectly done in your case and you're currently suing for that?
Yes, I'm suing Rockdale County.
You suing Rockdale County Courts? Uh, who else are you suing? Are you suing Kelly?
Um, Kelly's about to get a lawsuit. Bravo and NBC about to get a lawsuit.
And how much are you suing for, for each?
Uh, the one at the county is for $150 million, and, uh, Bravo will be getting— we came up with a number, but it's going to be up there because they messed my life up.
This is— I She's currently signed on to do another season, season 17. I'm sure that this is going to enter the chat with you doing this interview and speaking out. You guys have kids involved, right? Is there any way that it would be easier for you to just cut your losses, walk away and go start another restaurant?
Um, yes, that's, that's, that's, that's easy. But who gonna do that when I, when I put all these blood, sweat, and tears in that situation that changed my life, right? Like, I'm like, I'm— I didn't grow up with no silver spoon. So, you know, I created a situation that I never had to work another day in my life, all my kids, because I, because I had made it, you know what I'm saying? Like I came from, I came from a rough life. It wasn't nothing sweet about my life. So for me to make it out and get a restaurant that's making millions of dollars and someone to take it away from me, it's not going to happen.
Where are the restaurants now? I know you say you closed down the Congress location. Are the other two restaurants open? Do you have any restaurants open right now?
No. The one she opened, I mean, once they gave her the company, the judge, you know, gave her the company. She went to open up the one in McDonough. So now she opened up a second location in Sandy Springs.
Okay. So the restaurants, your restaurants, yes, are doing well under her name.
Yeah.
And you're not getting a dime off of that?
I don't get nothing.
I just feel like, you know, Kelly, I know you're going to watch this interview. Like, I don't even know how she could refute this because like you guys have children together. You built a life together. I get that people divorce, but like, what would make a person just want to take everything from you? Like, what type of person are you? Like, you, you, like, people have to understand, like, you know, I know it's cliché karma, but like, what goes, like, what you put out there, you get.
Of course, it's sad because, you know, when I opened up the restaurant, Killa didn't give me a dime towards that restaurant. Nothing. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, I named the restaurant after her grandmother because her grandmother came down to help us with— we had some twins, right? You know, we had no family in Atlanta, so her grandmother came down to help us with the kids. I named the restaurant after her grandmother, you know what I'm saying? You know, I named it Nana's Chicken and Waffles, and I named it because, you know, um, you know, they got nanas in everybody's household. So I did name it, you know, I did not put her name in, her face on the logo, you know. So You know, for her to do me like that, it's like terrible. And you know, I don't care who listen to her and her family, like they know it's terrible, they know it's wrong.
Do you feel hustled? You feel used?
Of course, 1,000%. Yes. Would you feel it? Would you feel used if you put all your eggs in something and they took it away from you?
I don't even know how I would. I'm just such a person that I don't like— yeah, I'll argue for a minute, but then my mind, my mind frame, because I am the type of person like, I built something, I could do it again.
Oh yes.
And once you know how to make money, you always know how to make money. But it's the fact that you are being publicly, yeah, humiliated.
Okay, so to take stuff from me, right? To take this from me, to use my company to get on this show, to lie and say that this is your company to get on this show. Right? But then when you get on the show, you still destroy— you destroy me. We got 3 kids, 3 girls. So what do you think my kids saying if they seeing this show?
Who do the kids live with now?
They stay with her.
Okay. All right. How much child support are you ordered to pay?
$3,900.
A month?
Yes.
How are you making those payments?
I don't make it. That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to get a modification right now. The judge, uh, in— and I'm not gonna say alleged, she, she did something wrong and we're gonna deal with that, right? The judge, you know, during the, um, uh, during the divorce, you know, they took my company. I went and got a, uh, a loan because I had two buildings and I had to— I was trying to keep them. I'm paying the loans on, uh, I'm paying the loans on, uh, in Conyers, and then I had a building downtown. So when I get this loan, uh, you know, Kelly then found out about it. It was in, uh, Nana's Chicken and Waffles. 'Cause everything was in my name still, right? So they subpoenaed the bank records and found out that I got this loan. And the judge went, she used that loan as my child support and said that I was making $19,000 a month. And that's why my child support is $3,900 right now. So I'm not going to say alleged nothing.
Who is her lawyer?
That's what the judge did me. Yeah. And that's why my child support went up to $3,900.
Loan money is not considered in child support.
That's what I'm trying to— that's why I'm saying you have to pay that back. That's why I'm trying to tell you, I'm not going to say alleged nothing. No, it's not alleged. It's illegal what she did. Yeah, it's a setup basically to go to put me back in jail.
This is why people don't want to get married no more and shit. Here I am, I'm like, black love, black love, but then Hmm. So financially, how is she doing? Do you feel like she's doing great with both restaurants even though she—
Well, if she, if she keeps being in the, uh, spotlight with debt, I mean, obviously not. God ain't gonna bless that. Come on, man. You, you hear, you hear my story. It's not gonna get blessed. It's not gonna happen.
So I guess this is to be continued.
To be continued.
Mhm. Your PR, anything else you want to add before we wrap this up? Uh, yes, the jail.
We didn't say the jail part.
Yeah, there's—
hold on for a second. Jasmine, give her this real quick. You can just— you don't have to be on camera. Yeah, just have her hold it. I'm talking to—
oh, she going to be— you going to use Oh good, just hold it. That's crazy.
Okay, so, um, back in 2022, obviously the judge had issued, um, that he needed to pay back this, um, the loan money that he removed. Um, prior to the June court hearing date, um, he had already put back, um, over $320,000. Um, Kelly and her attorney failed to mention that in the court hearing on— in June back in 2022. 2022, um, and the judge awarded that in addition to some cars and some other things, which is why you see that $700,000 figure. It was that same, that same, um, case. Um, kind of fast forwarding to 2024, um, he was going to court for child support. While on stand, the judge asks him about the $420,000 loan amount Which Mark said, I've been paid that back, why are we bringing that up? We're here for child support. The judge was like, well, can you prove that you paid it back? And he was like, well, no, because I didn't bring the paperwork to show you this because I thought I was coming here for child support. The judge ended up locking him up and holding him in contempt because he— they said that he never paid that money back. So he then had to get his parents and family to raise money while he was in jail. To be able to get another lawyer to prove that he paid back the $420,000 already. So she was able to obviously do that. She sent all the financial records in, and the purge order— plunge order— purge order, um, was, um, issued, where then he was able to get out of jail once he proved that he already paid that money back 2 years prior. Now what I want to say is, as as a woman, you know, if you know that your ex-husband has already paid back money, I, I don't understand how you're just able to watch him get locked up for something that he already paid back. And that was quite interesting. And while he was locked up, um, he was basically, I would say, forced to participate in the sale of his home. So he was never even able to go to the home without police to retrieve the items. Kelly went, unlocked the door— remember, she had moved out already— went, unlocked the door, removed all the items, and left clothes in trash bags, where his name was in the deed of the house, his name was in the title of a food truck. The judge made him in a particular hearing leave to get the title and transfer the food truck title in her name. And if he didn't do that, he will be held in contempt and go to jail again. So a lot of people, what they see is basically a Black man that was terrified. Every time he went into this courthouse, something was being taken from him. He was being forced to participate in sales and transfers of assets. And as mentioned, the divorce hadn't even happened yet, you know. So it's a lot to this story. I think the audience needs to really understand. And I, I think I want to also just express that all of the evidence is, is public knowledge. Um, this is all public information. And, um, to have an open mind, you know, when, when hearing, um, Kelly speak.
And you see the receipts and everything? Yeah, um, I guess it is to be continued, because I mean, this is going to play out in season 17. I'm sure they're going to insert this footage into, um, the season itself, but, um, I just— it just seems like the more you, you talk about it, the more things come up, the more muddier it gets. And, you know, I'm very, very spiritual when it comes to this. You know, only the devil lies in confusion. Y'all have children together, and it's just sad that a television show has just kind of blown this all up and you guys aren't able to just— it's like you can't walk away from your marriage. It's like even though you guys are divorced, you're still trapped in this toxic marriage.
Yes, I'm a very private person. Like, uh, before this show, uh, hit, like, she got, uh, she's saying I threatened to kill her. That's a, that's a, uh, lie. Uh, you have the paperwork.
Well, everything you're going through, I mean, I ain't gonna say that it's out of the norm for a threat to be issued like that, because I think if anybody going through that, yeah, bitch, I'ma kill you. I swear to God, you better let me see.
She's supposed to be under the grave right now.
I'm just saying, these are my words.
That's what I'm saying. But she went on national TV and said I said I was going to kill her, right? And I didn't say that. When they was handcuffing me, I was walking out the courtroom and I said, I got you. I said, it's messed up. I was telling her and her family, right? So they come, when they take me to the back, they come back there and they give me a restraining order. And the restraining order said that I said that I'm gonna get you. I got several witnesses that was in that courtroom. I never said I'm gonna get you. I said I got you. That's two different words. So, um, she get on national TV and said I said I was gonna kill her, and that's why she walk around with a bodyguard. So, you know, she know everything she done did to you. Yeah. So she go on TV and says that she said that I said that I stole $500,000. I just told you the story where that money— it was no, it was not her money. It was a loan that we got. That's a lie, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So it's like, like I said, I was, I was a very private person. I was nowhere on social media. I was on, uh, Google, none of that. And because of this show, my life is destroyed. You can Google my name right now, it's nothing but negative stuff.
Yeah, it is true.
Um, they ridiculed me on Uh, you know, uh, I don't even look at it. Then my family send me comments, people talking about me, uh, saying, just saying a bunch of crazy stuff about me, you know what I'm saying? And it's all lies. I got black and white for everything. Everything. Yeah. And, and knowing, um, and she don't let me see my kids. I don't see— I haven't saw my kids. I don't see my kids. The only time I'm able to see my kids is if, uh, you know, when the final divorce decree came out in September of '24, we have joint custody. She won't allow me to see my kids because—
When was the last time you seen them?
Um, the last time I saw my babies was in, uh, May. And the only reason— only way I see them, I go to their school and sit down and have lunch with them. She got me blocked. She won't answer my calls. And the whole narrative is I'm this, I'm this terrible father, you know, and she, and it's a storyline on that show. She don't let me see my kids. She got me blocked. I sent her emails. I can show you emails that I sent her. Um, she got me blocked for us calling and she don't let me, she won't allow me to see my kids. So we got to take her back to court.
Oh my God, I, I really empathize with you. I don't even know where to start, what to say. Um, I just want to pray that, you know, you're able to keep your sanity through this. I can tell that it's a long way from being over.
Yeah.
Um, it's gonna get worse. Um, when this comes out, it's, it's gonna blow things up more, and, um I just want to say, I mean, I think we've covered everything. I don't want to confuse everybody too much, but bottom line, like, you know, I don't even know what the fucking moral of this story could be. I don't. That's a shame.
Yeah.
That we're like, it's inconclusive when it comes to this interview.
Yeah, because like I said, we got, you know, my thing is like, just, I mean, you should have did the right thing by me. I changed that woman's life. I treated her like a queen. You know what I'm saying? Like, I changed that lady's life. She didn't have nothing when I met her. I changed that woman's life. And what you see now is, you know, on this show, uh, she took my company. She took my company and lied to get on this show. That's the— that's— that's basically— that's the storyline.
Woman lies.
Woman takes man company and lies to get on this show. That's what happened. She's not no cook. That's, you know, that's all my recipes. She's not. That's all my recipes, you know what I'm saying? So it's like, it, you know, and like, I, I wasn't gonna do none of this, like, but my, you know, my publicist, my family, like, you got to go defend yourself because they didn't do dirt on your name the whole season. The whole season, everything was about me.
If you look at me, that's what sells. She wouldn't have that spot.
Of course. So now they think they're gonna do it again. It's not gonna happen.
Okay, well, listen, I think we should end on that note. Okay. I, I really do empathize with you, Mark, and I don't know how you plan on getting up out of this. I know there's a miracle. When there's a will, there's a way. You've come from, you know, humble beginnings, and you built before, and I, I truly wholeheartedly believe that you will build again.
Yes.
Okay. And, uh, it's, it's true, when you do look at the, the lifestyles of The Housewives, none of them have anything going on because it forces them to live in a very per— how do you put it? What's the word I'm looking for?
A fake lifestyle?
It's fake, but it's like they have to do 10 times more. And that sets them 20 steps back. Even when you look at Kandi, like you look at Kandi's lifestyle. Yeah, Kandi does a ton of press and she looks great every time she does it, but like She just lost all her restaurants.
That's right. Yeah. I mean, my thing is with this show and whoever listening, like, us Black men wake up every morning and we don't know if we're going to make it home, right? So for us, for me to go through that, it's terrible. I put a lot into where I'm at today. I went through a lot. You know what I'm saying? That's another story. But to have everything taken from me is absolutely crazy.
