A pastor argues that giving money to people on the street doesn't create wealth, only tithing to God does. Another voice pushes back, saying real charity comes from genuine care, not expecting rewards from God, and calls out churches for failing to help after a hurricane despite collecting large donations.

So when you give a dollar to somebody on the street, talking about, I did my job, God like, thank you, but it ain't gonna help you. Charity does not bring wealth. What? Only the tithe does that.
When you give to the poor, it's not for you to get anything back. That's not why you help people. You don't help people with a motive. You help people because you truly care. You don't care if that money comes back to you. You don't care if God blesses you or not. This is something that we are called to do as a people, is to help one another the same way You called us to help with your church when you needed $4 million when the hurricane, God, took it down. But when them tithes and offerings weren't coming in because people truly needed, and I was talking to winos personally that were in Houston that were standing in lines getting back-to-school supplies, food, and things like that, but your church wasn't out there 'cause you was too busy standing on the corner begging like the poor person you is.
