This is a YouTube video titled "How to raise your rates #shorts" containing a single-speaker advice segment recorded in October 2022. The speaker provides guidance on how to raise client rates effectively, suggesting timing the increase at the start of the new year and announcing it in advance to secure deposits.
Hey, we're doing Q and A with Terry, and the first question is this. How do I raise my rates with clients? Yeah, well, first of all, I'm glad that you're raising your rates because they should go up over time. But I've always found the best time to do it is actually the beginning of the new year, because you're going to say, look, new year, new fees. That rhymes. So let's do this. But what I would say is, yes, do that, but also announce your price increase in advance. So around October, November, say, look, by the way, next year, my rates are going up to this. You can still lock in this current rate right now. By paying me now, it could be a deposit for next year. So put half down now, half down later, and you can lock in this rate. So this is great for you because you're getting an influx of clients coming in, even though you won't help them until next year, and you can still book more clients for the current year.
