This is a YouTube video titled "How your kids can inspire your work #shorts" containing a monologue from November 11, 2022, where the speaker reflects on how having young children influences their clarity and decision-making in work, emphasizing the value of constraints on time rather than direct inspiration from the children themselves.
All right, we're doing Q and A with Terry. Next question here is, how do your kids inspire you? This is a good question. I have four children, and they're all under 7 years old. So when people say, how do they inspire you? Like, they're not encouraging me to, like. Like, be a better writer or something, right? That's not the inspiration. But what I think happens is the constraints they give me on my time give me more clarity and confidence on what I should be doing, right? So there's this concept called the paradox of choice. When you have too many options available to you, it makes you confused, it makes you unhappy. And when you do make a decision, you feel like there might have been a better one out there. But when you only have a few options because your time's so constrained, you're much more clear. So on my end, I think to myself, well, what can I do that's going to either scale very well, or I can make money passively? Those are my options, right? So that's what my kids give me. They give me this clarity, this. These. These constraints, and as a result, I do better with my time. But I also can help other people do the same thing. So probably not the answer you're looking for, but that's the best one I have.
