Terry Rice explains when to hire your first team member. He stresses you need a tested solution before bringing people on board, otherwise you're just wasting money trying to figure out what works.
All right, we're doing Q and A with Terry. Here's one of your questions. How do I know when I need to hire more people for my business? This is a complicated question. I'll try to give a clear response. But you should get to a point where something's working. Something about your business is working, but you're having trouble scaling and following through with other goals because you don't have the bandwidth or the talent. What I don't want you to do is start hiring people before you have a tested solution that actually works. Otherwise you're going to waste money. Right? So make sure it actually works. And then think, well, how much money can I set aside to invest in my business, knowing I might not get it back for one month, two months, three months? But I'm so clear on if I do this, there's a really good chance it's going to work. Find those resources, then invest in them. But again, make sure you have a good solution first, and then what you want to do is amplify that based on more resources and talent.
