This is a YouTube video titled "Why Do Struggles and Being Vulnerable Make Us Better Teachers with Jess Ekstrom" containing a monologue by Jess Ekstrom recorded in August 2024. Jess discusses the value of sharing personal struggles and vulnerability as a way to connect and teach others effectively, emphasizing that credibility comes from authentic experiences rather than appearing flawless.

The way that people think. I need to go up there and I need to sound qualified, and I need to be credible, and I need to appear like I've had this figured out forever. And it's like, no one wants to learn from someone that's, like, just naturally good at something because they never had struggle. And so sometimes, like, the greatest lessons that you have that you should share with others come from your worst moments. And so it's not about, like, making yourself appear good or credible. It's about what is the stories and things that I can share that is going to best serve the people in front of me. And sometimes they're not the most fun things to share.
