This is a YouTube video titled "Why Sharing Failures Builds Real Connections on Social Media" containing a discussion between two speakers about the importance of sharing vulnerabilities and failures on social media to build genuine connections, rather than only showcasing successes. The content was created in February 2025 and focuses on social media behavior and authenticity.
Nobody trusts somebody that only shares their wins.
What if all I do is win?
It's not true.
Okay, so why should we be more vulnerable about our losses on social media?
Because social media has a bad rep of being the highlight reel. Everybody's posting everything that they're winning. Like, I'm so excited to announce, blah, blah, blah, I just got this certification, I just got this promotion. While that's great, and I'm sure there's going to be people that are happy for you, that's not what connects with people and that's not what builds relationship with people. I think being confident enough to share your vulnerabilities online helps people kind of buy into your journey because one, they see that you're a human. Like if there's a, a Fortune 500 CEO that posts about something that, like a failure that happened to them, think about how much more somebody could relate with them versus oh, I'm so excited to announce that I just got this award. It builds in a way that just sharing your highlight reel cannot. So I'm a huge advocate for sharing, sharing your failures. And I don't mean it in a sense where it's dear diary, woe is me kind of stuff, but just, you know, know, this is what my advice is. This is how I learned it, whether it be from a shitty moment or not. And here's what you can take from that and apply it to your life as well.
