In this first-person testimonial, Rebecca recounts her previous experience interviewing for a role in the Trust, where a lack of preparation and intense anxiety left her feeling terrified and doubting her worth. She describes how daily video exercises—recording herself speaking about her projects—helped her become comfortable hearing her own voice, normalize making imperfect attempts, and gain confidence by observing others' similar struggles. The practice, combined with a structured confidence‑building course, shifted her mindset: she slept well before the interview, felt prepared, recognized her own value, and entered the interview ready to sell herself. The interview went smoothly, she left feeling she performed at her best, and she enthusiastically recommends the course for anyone lacking confidence, praising its varied approaches and supportive environment.

So I'd previously gone for the same job in the Trust and had just had my confidence completely destroyed by it. I hadn't really been able to prepare very well and didn't do a very good job about it. I wasn't really in the right mindset and was genuinely terrified about answering questions, even from colleagues, not just in the sort of interview scenario, but even just preparation sort of Made my skin crawl. I think the hardest thing for me was just getting used to speaking out loud, hearing myself talk about these things, um, and doing that for other people. I just felt like I was sort of wasting people's time, just, you know, talking at length about projects that I've done during my training. So I think getting used to that process, getting used to doing like the daily videos That really helped, just having it as a sort of like continuous thing. And also seeing other people's slightly rubbish attempts at stuff kind of makes you more confident to be able to put your own, you know, self out there and do a slightly rubbish job as well and know that that's part of the process and that that's okay. And it made it much easier for me to do it in front of other people as well. I slept quite well the night before. Like, I felt more confident and As ready as I could possibly be, actually. It was a slightly unreal feeling, actually, that I just felt ready to go. I felt really well prepared, and I sort of, I kind of knew my own worth as well because I'd spent such a long time talking about it all that I sort of started to believe my own hype a little bit and felt confident. Great! Yeah. Thank you very much. Like, your course is lovely. It really sort of I think it picks really well for like people who aren't feeling very confident about stuff. And I just think it's really great. I think it's got a really lovely approach. It's got lots of different ways which work for different people, and I felt really well prepared, not thrown by any questions, and walked out of the room feeling like I'd sold myself as well as I could. So I would really recommend it.
