In this testimonial video, Jenny recounts her journey from feeling terrified about a consultant interview—stemming from previous disappointing ST4 recruitment experiences—to securing a job offer just five minutes after the interview concluded. She explains that generic one‑day interview courses failed to meet her needs, leading her to discover a specialized Academy through Instagram. The Academy provided personalized coaching, including refinement of her unique selling points (USPs), structured answer frameworks, and frequent 30‑minute mock interview sessions that boosted her confidence and ability to deliver concise three‑minute responses to any question. Jenny emphasizes that thorough preparation allowed her to sleep well and remain calm on interview day, ultimately delivering an “outstanding” interview. She received an immediate offer, describing the moment as emotional relief and joy, and credits the Academy’s coaches—particularly Becky—for their exceptional support. Jenny strongly recommends the program, urging others to trust the process and highlighting the tangible outcomes (substantive and locum posts) that demonstrate the Academy’s effectiveness.

I felt like a consultant interview was a very daunting process. I'd had quite bad experiences of ST4 recruitment prior to going into specialty registrar training. Obviously, that's done on a kind of systems-based approach, but I just thought that I knew that I'd performed not as well as I wanted to, to get the place that I wanted to at ST4. So, I thought, well, what's it going to be like for consultancy? So, I really Was terrified at the prospect of having another interview knowing that I feel like I hadn't really performed well previously. Initially, when you like, I kind of like typed in consultant, you know, interview medical courses, it came up with these 1-day courses that I've already experienced through ST4 recruitment. And I found that those courses were slightly impersonal, didn't necessarily meet the kind of requirements or the kind of goals that I wanted to achieve. I don't know, I don't think you can really do that in a 1-day course. And then I kind of looked at like all the stuff that was happening like through your like Instagram posts and thought, this is brilliant, like this is what I need. That was invaluable. I'd already had my USPs and stuff and examples, but it was extremely useful to go through some of them, like when I needed like help on, on some of them to maybe refine them a little bit or ask questions when one of my examples is this, do you think that's okay? And I think that was extremely useful. And also just guidance on like how to necessarily frame an answer based on the example. And I obviously got lots of, well, mock interviews, but also the opportunity to have mock questions within those 30-minute sessions as well, which again was really, really good for me because I just— the more questions that I got asked, the more that I felt like, okay, I can be hit with anything and I can stick to my structure and I can, you know, deliver a 3-minute answer regardless of what they, um, throw at me. So yeah, that was really useful. I actually did feel quite prepared, to be honest. I felt like there wasn't anything else that I could have done To change that situation the night before. So I actually slept very well, and I do think that that was because I put in the effort before, you know, before that day. I didn't cram. So I actually felt quite calm going into it thinking I've got skills to be able to use, you know, my examples and my USPs. I can think of a structure, you know, think of my 3 points and then go from there regardless of what they ask me. And I think that that was extremely useful to be able to do. I actually got called about 5 minutes after the interview ended. So you didn't have to sweat for very long. I know. So initially, when I received the, like, the actual— they were ringing, I was like, oh gosh, something's gone wrong. But then when they said, you know, we're delighted to offer you this, you know, I was just like so emotional, to be honest, because it was just such a relief and joy at the fact that like I'd worked so hard to like get to this point and I was just so pleased. But not only that, it was just the way that she was like delivering the information Like, we are so delighted to have you. Like, clearly I had, like, demonstrated that they wanted me as a colleague, you know what I mean? And I was like, oh, that's so nice. Like, I felt so— like, yeah, I just felt so flattered and honored. Um, and yeah, I was just so, so delighted. And yeah, obviously I was— I said yes. I was just so happy. I would say do it. Uh, I would say trust the process. Trust what you and your team are saying. You know what you're talking about. You can see that as evidence from me, but not only that, from all the other people that you see going through the Academy. And it's like, got my substantive post, got my locum post, and it shows that something is working. And there's no way that I would have had such a good interview had I not joined the Academy at all. You could tell that when I was delivering the answers, They were impressed by them, and I was told it was an outstanding interview. There's no way I would have done that without the Academy, 100%. I suppose the only thing I want to mention is just, it's not only the content, your knowledge and stuff, but genuinely, I could actually get upset about this, you and Becky have genuinely gone above and beyond, and it just shows that you really care so much about people getting their jobs, and the manner in which you do it, and your attitude is Absolutely exemplary. I genuinely don't think I could have done it without you both. It's just been so invaluable. Cannot thank you enough. Thank you, Jenny. Appreciate that. I'm, I'm welling up now. No, don't. We're gonna have to edit out the tears.
