In this testimonial, a participant recounts how an interview‑preparation academy transformed her consultant interview experience. She first noticed an unadvertised Instagram post about the academy eight weeks before her interview and signed up for an introductory talk. Lacking a clear interview strategy, she joined the program, initially watching others record answers before daring to record her own. The community’s shared nervousness encouraged her to push beyond her comfort zone. The turning point was a live Q&A session held on a Sunday, which she found frightening but essential. The academy’s curriculum broke preparation into clear milestones, taught her to craft and adapt five “golden” example stories, and emphasized a structured answer format with a pivot technique. Peer feedback, camaraderie, and systematic practice built her confidence, culminating in interview feedback that she “knocked it out of the park.” The speaker highlights three core takeaways: milestone‑based preparation, prepared adaptable examples, and answer structuring/pivoting, all of which contributed to her success.

Feedback on my interview was that I knocked it out of the park. Oh wow, okay. That was amazing, I know. So I was really happy to hear that. So, um, uh, and it's all down to doing this, this, um, academy. Based on my previous experience in the consultant interview, I thought, I haven't a clue, you know, I don't know how to approach this. Um, or one of your little snippets come up my Instagram feed one night, probably about 8 weeks before the interview, and, um, it hadn't even been advertised at this stage, but I knew it was in the pipeline. And so I thought this is karma. I signed up to your introductory, you know, talk, and it was really good. Thought I'm going to do this because I have nothing to lose, and if nothing else, at least I would know whenever I go into the interview, I won't disgrace myself. So certainly, you know, having the courage to record, you know, your answers—that was very daunting. And you know, I sort of sat back and watched other people do it initially, and then. more and more people were doing it, and I thought, you know what, they're just the exact same as me. They're, they're, they're nervous. You can see they're nervous. You know, I thought, I have— again, I have nothing to lose. Let's just do it. There's so many of us on the call. There's so many people doing it, and the feedback everybody was getting was so good. I thought, well, you know, I'm probably gonna get feedback as well, which is good. So, um, that was pushing me out of my comfort zone. And then what really pushed me out of my comfort zone was doing a live answer question, you know, and on the Sunday lives. Okay. That was frightening. And I only did it— I think I only did it once, and that was the Sunday before my Okay. But I knew I had to, I had to just do it, you know, and everybody was great, you know, and it was really encouraging. So that— but it was horrible. It was absolutely, you know, it wasn't pleasant. But you did say that, you said it's not going to be nice, but you have to do it. You had broken it down into milestones, you know, and, you know, that was brilliant. And in that, then I had my prepared answers and my prepared examples, which again was great. So it was really just, you know, adapting those to any sort of number of questions that could be, could be posed. But those examples were perfect and you could adapt them. And that's what you and your team taught us to do, you know, how to pivot, you know, using certain examples. What is it? The 5 sort of 5 golden examples can be integrated into lots of different questions depending on how you pivot it. Really, you know, really, it was excellent. I mean, it just totally prepared me. Absolutely, absolutely. You know, it's the camaraderie and the, is really good to begin with and the support, but also, you know, just how to structure the questions. I mean, the 3 things I probably took from it, the most important 3 things, were probably the milestones, having prepared examples, and how to structure your answers. And as I said, you know, how to pivot, you know, and use your 5 golden examples. Yeah. Definitely, you know, it just gives you that confidence, you know, to know that you're not going to go in and disgrace yourself.
