In this first‑person testimonial, the speaker recounts how a comprehensive interview preparation program transformed her confidence and performance, ultimately landing her a coveted medical position. She describes her prior reliance on short online courses, the turning point when a colleague (Dr. Fiona Harris) recommended a full‑scale Interview Academy, and the added value of private mock sessions with coaches (including Becky). The speaker highlights the Academy’s thorough curriculum—covering both technical answers and soft‑skill elements such as emotion management and communication style— and explains how iterative feedback reshaped her mindset before the interview. After a previous unsuccessful interview, she refined her answers, felt certain the night before, and experienced the interview as a culmination of a decade‑plus of medical training. The narrative emphasizes the emotional payoff, the perceived uniqueness of the Academy’s soft‑skill focus, and the belief that such an investment is essential for securing a high‑stakes job.

I've been telling everybody about this incredible support that I had for my prep because you know when I walked out of the interview, the CEO she said we can see you had prepared. Like you know they they were like the answers were thorough. They were very happy. They were all like nodding heads. Okay, that's good. So I mean I had done to be honest I had done a couple of these online courses. Some of them were like four hours and some of them were like full day courses last year when I gave the local interviews and I I think. I think the depth of preparation that wasn't there. I never felt like I didn't know what to expect. I was going with a bit of a feeling that I don't know what's going to happen. So I know about myself, but I didn't know about the interview process. So that's where I was. And I think one of my colleagues, Dr. Fiona Harris, she recommended that she had joined the Academy and she found it very useful. To be honest, when I joined, I thought it was too much for me. Like I was never going to catch up with all the material that was available. got into the private tier as well. I got some very good practice sessions with yourself and Becky, and I think they were very, very useful to have that real feel of that interview, going through the questions, mock questions, and getting that feedback. I think that really gave me the enthusiasm that, okay, I'm doing well. You're not thinking in your head that you're doing well. You've got that feedback that you're doing well. So that really matters. I think that state of mind that you enter the interview with, that I got it, I think that really made a difference, really. I did give one interview a couple of weeks before that, and that wasn't really the job I was eyeing for, but I didn't get it. So after that, I pushed myself to refine my answers even further. And actually, the night before the interview, I knew I had it. I felt very— I knew I could answer like any wildcard question. I knew I'll come up with something. I had the structure in mind. The feedback that I got, I think it really like— it felt like I have done something in these last 10 years. Like, it was like the fruit of effort for all 10 years that you have done. So it was really, really, really satisfying. It means everything, really. It means I have, you know, started my medical career, what, 25 years ago? I went into medical school. So I feel it is the culmination point of where I wanted to be at the end, really. I know the academy course feels a bit daunting that you can't complete it, but it is because the course is very, very thorough. There is no other course which gives us tips on how to talk, how to manage your emotions. You know, people will tell you how to make the answers, but nobody touches these soft aspects. And I think that was like an Agathon benefit. And I think it's worth an investment because ultimately, if you don't have a good job, all the years of effort are gone in the drain. So ultimately, this is what you want. If you really, really want it, you've got to do this. I think I was very, very grateful for the support that was there.
