You Can Make GOOD Money Scalping: Here’s How

In this solo YouTube tutorial, The Art Of Crypto explains why and how scalping small intraday price moves (0.1–3%) can generate substantial profits. He emphasizes that the key to success is a strong risk‑to‑reward (R‑value) ratio rather than the raw percentage move of a coin. Risk is defined as the percentage of the trading account that could be lost on a trade, and reward is the percentage gain relative to that risk. The presenter walks through multiple real‑world trade examples—showing 3.4R, 5.5R, 7R, and even a potential 17R trade—illustrating how a 1‑3% price swing can translate into 3‑10% account growth in minutes. He stresses consistent, selective entries, tight stop‑losses, and the importance of understanding session‑direction (e.g., New York session) to improve win rates. The video also promotes his private Discord, Twitter for trade alerts, and a forthcoming primer video on determining session direction. Overall, the content serves as an instructional guide on scalping methodology, risk management, and practical execution for crypto traders.

What's up everybody? A lot of the time I get asked the question, can you make money from scalping? As in scalping 0.5% moves, maybe 1% moves, maybe even 0.1% moves. And the short answer is yes, you can make money and you can make a lot of money doing that. And in this video, I'm going to get into a longer answer why I think so. And it's not just the fact that I think so, it's You know, it's proven. For example, I posted a trade yesterday, 23 hours ago. I gave you guys my exact entry that I was going for a 3.4R trade. So that ended up playing out within 5 minutes. Like, it hit the TP within 5 minutes. Notice here, you filled it and you hit the TP, right? This entire move was 1.4%, but I made 3.8% of my account in basically You know, like 3.4% of my account in basically 5 minutes, and it's just a 1.3% move. Which leads me to a very important point. A lot of the times people get too caught up with looking at, you know, the percentage value, right? Oh, this coin went up 200%. Oh, that coin went up 500%. But in fact, what they really should be looking is the risk-to-reward ratio down here, as you can see. So I had a 3.5 risk-to-reward ratio, which means that trade had an R-value of 3.5R. And let us define R-value because it is objectively the best gauge of a trader's performance. So a lot of the times when you see traders post screenshots of their successful trades or anything, they are always posting the dollar amount that they made. Maybe they made $10,000, but that is in fact not the real gauge of that trader's performance, because in order to get that $10,000, how much of his account did he risk? Maybe perhaps he has a $10,000 account and he made $10,000 and he risked the entire account on the trade to get $10,000. So the next question becomes, define risk. What does risk mean? Now, risk is basically defined as how many percent of your account you will lose if you lose that trade. For example, in here, if I took on 3% account risk, and let's say that the price hit my stop loss. That means that if I had $10,000, after losing this trade, I would have $9,700. So that is risk. Now we move on to the other end of the spectrum, which is the reward, right? How much reward are you getting? For example, I hit this one, right? So R-value is basically how much reward am I getting for every bit of risk that I'm putting forward. For example, This trade had an R-value of 3.55, and let's say I risked 1% of my account, which means if I had $10,000, if I lose this trade, my account would become $9,900. So that is what I'm defining as risk. So 3.5R means that I would have made 3.5% of my account because I was risking 1%. But if, let's say, my R-value— I was risking 3% of my account, then this trade would have returned me 10.5% of my account, which means if I had $10,000 in my account, that account would then grow $11,050. Do you see the power of how much money you can make just scalping a simple 1.3% move, and how that can easily make you $1,000 if you had, let's say, a $10,000 trading account, which I'm sure a lot of you do? $10,000 is— could be a lot for some people, but You'd be surprised at how many people have $10,000 in their account. And you know, you have to remember another thing. When you— when people say that they cannot make money scalping, they are looking at the percentage value, right? But small wins add up over time. For example, a 5-hour trade when you have a $10,000 account would only be $500, but when you have a $50,000 account, a 5-hour trade would be about $2,500. And I would say if you can consistently, you know, make let's say 10R a week on a $50,000 account, that's 5 grand a week at least. And if you can do that consistently, which, you know, following a few simple strategies, I'm very selective with my trades and the trades that I do take, they tend to play out well and they have a really good R-value, like 3, 7. Like last week I posted this on my Twitter, so remember to follow me on my Twitter if you want to get access to some free trades that I'm sharing. So in a couple of hours I made 7R on the account, and assuming I have, say, a $100,000 account, that would have been $7,000 in a couple of hours. So you can make really good money scalping. And don't get me wrong, for example, this move, right, I scalped this short from 4,600, right, 4,600 to 3,900, which is about a 3% move. So with a 3% move, I made about 10 grand, let's say. So that's basically the long answer, which is yes, you can make money scalping and you can make really good money scalping, but you need to get your risk to reward ratio down pat. When I'm scalping, check out my stop loss. It's not very wide. My target, it doesn't matter that it's 1.3%. It doesn't matter if it's 100%. For example, right, if you're aiming for 100% reward but you're risking— your stop loss is 25%, that is still only a 4R trade. And in order to get to that 100% reward, chances You're gonna need multiple days, maybe a couple of weeks in order to hit 100% gain on that coin. But at the end of the day, you are only getting back 4R. So why not just get 4R in 5 minutes like I did yesterday? You know, there are a few trading techniques that, you know, once you learn, it's like, it's very replicable on many different timeframes, many different assets. And the best part is you don't even need to be trading the whole day. For example, this was another trade that I took. I was playing this game called Stardew Valley at the end entire day. And I basically, I looked at the charts for like 5-10 minutes. And of course, the only reason that I can look at the charts for such a short amount of time, it comes with experience. But the trade was opened and closed in less than 2 hours, and I made about 5.5R, I think. And assuming you have a $100,000 account, that's $5,500, all within a couple of hours work. And there are people that can do this way better than I can. And when it comes to scalping, You have the luxury of taking more trades in the same trading day. So again, and so basically, can you make money scalping? Absolutely, man. You just gotta understand, at the end of the day, it's the risk-to-reward ratio that's most important. And secondly, you need to come up with a solid scalping strategy. Now, I haven't actually yet made a video on a scalping strategy that perhaps I use, but I do have a video that will tell you exactly What is the direction for every trading session? For example, I'm able to successfully— like, for example, that trade yesterday, I knew that New York session was going to push upwards. It's just that I did not know that it was going to push up that much, you know. And if I did hold, keep the trade open until this point, I would have made 17R, which means that's 17% gain on principal, right? And that video is going to tell you exactly how I do this. I mean, not exactly, it's really just a short primer, but still, a short primer is still an introduction, and hopefully it's going to help you guys. And of course, if you want to follow along with all my trades as well as get access to all the market updates from me and my moderators— I have some really talented people in here. For example, Dean is one of them. This guy's a legend. And I'm not going to name the others, but Slime, Waffles— if you want to follow along with the trades and get access to the amazing community that we have in here Check out the private Discord group, but otherwise check out that video that I'm gonna link you to. And hopefully this video has been of a little bit of help and hopefully not too long-winded. Anyways, may the gains be with you. Bye-bye.
