Hi there. Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from Winston Churchill, who was born in 1874 and was a writer and then before he got into politics, and then became the British Prime Minister and led Great Britain through the Second World War. And his quote is, the price of greatness is responsibility. So what do I think that means in today's world? And what did he mean by that when he actually did quote that quote? I think basically, I have a real passionate belief that everyone on the planet has greatness inside them. And I believe that actually every human being on the planet has got the potential to leave a positive fingerprint in every situation that they're involved with. The challenge for most of us is that we don't take full personal responsibility. And that's a big thing in the coaching world, is to try and create the awareness for the individual that they have to take personal responsibility for everything that's happening in their life right now. So instead of avoiding it and ducking it and blaming other people or circumstances or the government or our kids or our partners or whatever it might be, we need to take full responsibility for everything that's happening in our lives. So it would be. The world would be a greater place if we were able to do this, if we were conscious that every interaction that we had, we left, we positively left a fingerprint that was worthy of ourselves. So what does that actually look like? It means that you have to lean into the thought that every interaction, every situation that we find ourselves in is 50% down to us and 50% down to the other individual. So instead of looking to try and put blame on the other person or the other circumstances that are happening right here and now, the best thing you can do is to take 100% responsibility for the part that you play in that situation, in that interaction. And responsibility. Taking personal responsibility for stuff in life is really tricky. It's slippery. I found myself in this space many times where I've wanted to blame someone else for something that's not ended up the way I wanted it to be. I've not taken full responsibility. I've not looked in the mirror and said, okay, yeah, this is down to me. I didn't interact with that individual appropriately or whatever it might be. So have a think about what aspects of your life are you going to start taking from.
