This is a YouTube video titled "BFG18 Monday Motivation" containing a motivational talk delivered on January 27, 2025. The speaker reflects on a quote by William Shakespeare about how doubts and fear can prevent people from pursuing their ideas and goals, encouraging viewers to overcome fear and take action.
Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from William Shakespeare, who was baptized in April 1564. And his quote is, our doubts are traitors that make us lose the good. We oft might win by fearing to attempt. I had to read that because I knew there was an old English word in there and I knew it was going to trick me up. But basically, I think what he's talking about is the fact that we often get thoughts in our mind that put us off. You know, we might have a great idea and think that actually, well, that's not going to work, not in this industry. Or someone else has already come up with something like that. So we don't tend to pursue those thoughts that we might have. So. And fear tends to be a big issue that gets in our way in life. The fear of it not perhaps, you know, being able to be perfect of whatever perfect might look like for you, and the fear that actually someone else might ridicule you or have a laugh at you even having the thought that you might be able to do something like this. So these thoughts can be traitors and stop us and prevent us from, you know, looking into stuff that we might have had. I mean, I'm sure I'm not the only person on the planet that has had a thought and thought it might be a really good idea. And then someone, a friend might say, yeah, that's not going to work. So you then don't pursue it. And then two or three years later, hey, presto, someone else has gone along and created the same thing that you were thinking about two or three years ago and made a great success of it. So just be careful when you're thinking about new things, pursuing new goals, not to allow fear to get in your way. Typically, fear stands for false evidence appearing real. So just question whether that is getting in your way from when you have the thought to then pursuing it. I look forward to sharing next week's quote with you and have a fantastic week. Bye for now.
