Hi there and welcome to this week's Monday Motivation Inspirational quote and this quote is from Michelangelo, considered to be one of the or regarded as one of the most famous artists from the Italian Renaissance period and sculpted the statue David and also painted the Sistine Chapel with the hand of God. Most people will have seen that painting. His quote is I began to understand that the promises of the world are for most part vain phantoms and that to have faith in oneself and become something of worth and value is the best and safest course. So what does that mean in today's world? So many people get stuck hoping that someone will come along and open the doors of opportunity for them. Other people's opinions can also stop us from attempting new things. It seems that Michelangelo realized this and found that backing himself was the best way to succeed in his life. It is amazing how often you can get caught out by a little bit of self doubt. Once it creeps in, it can gain momentum and stop the most ambitious of plans from happening at all. When Michelangelo talks about the promises of the world, I think he's talking about the promises people make to you. I have personally been caught out by believing that someone will do something for me. I trusted their word and ended up being disappointed when they didn't fulfill their promise. Committing to yourself to get something done is much safer because you know you can't fool yourself. So back yourself and don't rely on other people's views and opinions to get stuff done. Have a great week and leave your comments below. Cheers. Bye for now.
