This is a YouTube video titled "Monday Motivation BFG23" featuring Nick Kokonas delivering an inspirational quote from Plato. The content is a motivational talk focused on thoughtful communication and leadership, recorded in March 2025.
Hi there. Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from Plato, who was a student of Socrates and a teacher to Aristotle. And he was, he started the academy and was one of the Greek, one of the most famous Greek philosophers. And his quote is, wise men speak because they have something to say, fools, because they want to say something. Now, when I think about what that means in today's world, I think about people point scoring when they're in a team dynamic situation, when they're at a meeting and they're trying to put a point across, or they're saying something just because they want to sort of be vocal and maybe win, win the favor of their leader, their team, whoever it might be. But whenever I've seen great leaders at work, at their best, it's when they've really thought things through and clearly and deliberately articulated a story that's compelling, that engages and inspires their people around them. So make sure you have a think about what you say. And sometimes actually it's better to say nothing and just listen and drink it in and learn from the wise people in the room. So that's this week's quote. I look forward to sharing next week's quote with you for now. Have a great week and take care. Bye for now.
