This is a YouTube video titled "Monday Motivation BFG25" containing a motivational talk delivered by a single speaker on March 16, 2025. The speaker discusses an inspirational quote by Andrew Carnegie, emphasizing the importance of actions over words and encouraging listeners to follow through on their commitments.
Hi there. Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from Andrew Carnegie, who was born in Dunfermline, Scotland, in 1835. And after he moved to the United States, he established the Carnegie steel Corporation in 1889, and it was the biggest of its kind across the world. In 1901, he sold his corporation so that he could focus his attention on his philanthropic work, which included substantial donations to the New York Library so that they could expand the library. In 1904, he established the Carnegie Mellon University. His quote is, as I grow older, I tend to worry less about what men say, just what they do. Now, what does that mean in today's world? I think it's fairly clear, really. A lot of people talk the talk. They say they're going to do something and then don't see it all the way through. So what he obviously observed in his career as a businessman, a very successful businessman, was that he was more interested in what people did, not what they said they were going to do. And time and time again, this is a critical aspect for all of us to pay attention to. You know, a lot of people say they're going to do something, but then they don't follow through. They don't do the doing. And it's such a common trait that gets perhaps missed from time to time. Exceptional leaders are extremely good at walking. They walk the walk and they talk the talk. So they're actually extremely good at following up on what they say they're going to do. So pay attention to this yourself. As you walk through this week. As you go from day to day, think about, are you not just talking the talk, but are you actually walking the walk? Are you actually seeing things through to completion? I look forward to sharing next week's quote with you, and have a great week. Bye for now.
