This is a YouTube video titled "Monday Motivation BFG37" featuring Jim Rees delivering an inspirational talk on self-approval and emotional intelligence, recorded in June 2025. Jim Rees discusses the importance of being comfortable with oneself and not relying on external validation for confidence and decision-making.
Hi there. Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from Mark Twain who was born on 30 November in 1835 in Missouri, Florida. And his quote is, a man cannot be comfortable without his own approval. So what does that mean in today's world? Because he quoted that some years ago now. And basically it's about you being okay with yourself. So the most important aspect of emotional intelligence is your self regard, so you being comfortable in your own skin. But so many people on the planet are so stuck in external references having to get feedback from other people about being okay with what they've created or accomplished. So it's much better and much safer to be able to be okay with yourself. That is have a high self regard and high self confidence and then proceed in that direction. So don't wait for validation from other people. Make sure you tap into your own beliefs, your own inspiration and creativity and make sure that that's the thing that leverages you forward. So have a think about that this week. Make sure that you're thinking about not waiting for other people's feedback and validation before you take the decisions that you need to take in your life. Have a great rest of the week and I look forward to sharing next week's quote with you. Bye for now.
