This is a YouTube video titled "Monday Motivation BFG6" created in October 2024 featuring Jim Rees delivering an inspirational monologue centered around a quote from Socrates. Jim reflects on the importance of self-examination, purpose, and beliefs in life, encouraging viewers to think deeply about their motivations and goals. The content is a motivational talk by a single speaker.
Welcome to this week's inspirational quote. This week's quote comes from the Greek philosopher Socrates, who was born around about 470 BC, and his quote's fairly profound, and it requires some deep thinking on your part. So hopefully this will make you think about some of the questions that I posed towards the end of this short video. His quote is very simple. The unexamined life is not worth living. So my thinking around that. And what does that mean in today's world? Well, most people don't particularly think about the bigger questions. You know, things such as, you know, why did I show up here on planet Earth? What is my purpose? What are the beliefs that drive all of my decisions? Where did my beliefs come from? What sort of patterns of behavior am I running? Are they serving me, or are they taking me away from my goals? And unfortunately for most people, myself included, on occasions, most of us are sleepwalking through our lives, completely unaware of the impact that we're having on others and unaware of the direction that we're facing or attempting to travel towards. We just sort of make it up as we go a lot of the time. So. And if you think about great leaders, great leaders are very good at diving into this stuff. They're aware of what drives them. They're aware of the purpose that they're pursuing, the goals that they're pursuing. So start having a think about, where did your beliefs come from? Are they still true today? So the beliefs you held as a little kid growing up, are those beliefs still serving you as an adult, or are they hindering you? Are they, Are they the thing that is getting in your way of being able to achieve more, do more, and have more in your life? So a good question to ask yourself and start digging into your beliefs, thinking about your purpose. So hopefully have a great week and I look forward to your comments. Post this video. Okay, bye for now.
