Short YouTube video (virtual 'cup of coffee') by Mark J. Podolsky (the Land Geek). He recounts a mentor's remark—"a fish doesn't know it's in water"—to illustrate the value of an outside, objective perspective (mentorship) for analyzing and improving a business. He also promotes resources on his website (Passive Income Blueprint ebook and Land Geek podcast).

Hey, it's Mark Podolski, the land Geek with thelandgeek.com let's have another Virtual cup of Coffee together. So I had a little lunch with my mentor, Orey, and we were talking and he was kind of analyzing my business and he said something to me that really kind of just made a lot of sense. He said, mark, a fish doesn't know it's in water. And when you think about it, it's really hard. Analyze yourself and your company. You almost need to have another person or a third party kind of looking at it in a way that isn't as emotional, they're not attached and can be completely indifferent and just give you good advice on how to move forward and improve in your business. So a fish doesn't know they're in water. Just another reason I think everyone should have a mentor.
