Coffee Talk With The Land Geek-- Don't Lose 10 points off your IQ!

A short, informal YouTube 'coffee talk' between Mark J. Podolsky (the Land Geek) and Duran Frazier. They briefly discuss recent improvements to Land Hub, the difficulties of multitasking (citing the book "18 Minutes to Focus" and claiming multitasking can reduce IQ by ~10 points), and close with promotional calls-to-action for TheLandGeek website, free passive-income resources, an ebook on land-buying mistakes, and their podcast.

Hey, it's Mark Podolski, the land Geek with thelandgeek.com let's have a virtual cup of coffee together with none other than the man living the dream in Carlsbad, California, Duran Frazier. Duran. What's up, buddy? How's Land Hub doing?
Here's my invisible cup to you, my friend. I've had too much coffee already this morning.
There you go. Really lofty coffee.
No lofty, just personal espresso. Land Hub is going good. We've got a lot of improvements, a lot of changes to the site over the last week and a half or two. So a lot of good things happening and I'm excited.
All right, great. So we're getting ready to podcast here. You can see my podcasting mic in the back. You can see I've got the little sound things going on in my office. But before we do that, we thought we'd have a little coffee talk for everybody. Quick two minute, three minute thing. So thank you. That's it. Right? No pressure. Duran, multitasking. What's your take on multitasking?
If I could own ADHD.com, i probably should have bought it a long time ago. I truly believe that being a person like myself, it's very, very, very difficult to work on multiple projects at once. I do a pretty good job at it, but multitasking is very difficult, Mark.
Yeah, no, I agree. In fact, I just read this book, which I highly recommend for you, by the way. And you know what? For everybody. It's not just for Duran, who has serious business add. It is called 18 minutes to focus by Peter Bregman. I'll get into that. Maybe we'll talk about it on the podcast. But basically, what I learned about multitasking is we're not good at it, we can't do it. And if you try to do it, you lose 10 points off your IQ. It makes you dumber. I mean, how many times have you been on the phone with somebody and then you're checking email at the same time and you can't do it? It's terrible.
Yeah, women are definitely a lot better at multitasking than men.
Innately, they seem like they are, but they're really not.
I disagree. I disagree. My wife can work on her business and the kids, well, not really. She doesn't do that simultaneously, but she can kind of operate simultaneously on a couple different projects at once a lot better than I can. But I don't do it at once. I think the interesting part about working multitasking is you can work on three different projects in one day that aren't related to each other, but you can't work them all at once, if that makes sense.
Yeah, I agree. I agree. You can definitely batch projects. 11 o', clock, I'm going to list my Property on Craigslist. 12 o', clock, I'm going to have that call with a prospect. And one o', clock, I'm going to, you know, respond to my emails. But if you're doing your emails while you're talking to your prospect, while you're trying to write a craigslist ad, that's what I consider multitasking. And that really is bad.
Yes, structure. Structure and regimen are really key if you're going to multitask.
All right.
Or multiple project management one day.
All right, great, great. All right, well, look, if you want more tips, tricks, techniques on how to make an incredible income, live like Duran off the beach in Carlsbad, go to www.thelandgeek.com, download for free the passive income blueprints, get the ebook how to avoid the three fatal Land Buying Mistakes. I think we're gotta be in the thousands by now, aren't we?
Millions.
We should be huge millions.
We should be dominating itunes.
I agree.
In our land niche.
Forget Beyonce. You guys can hear Mark.
Yeah, I mean, exactly. And you can argue I'm better looking, right? Yeah, yeah, exactly. So Beyonce's jealous, she doesn't look like a geek. And I'm just gonna embrace is what it is. All right? So thanks, everybody. Appreciate you listening to us. Dran, stay with me. Let's do a podcast, buddy.
Sounds good, my friend.
Thanks, buddy.
