Nite Cap with The Land Geek Guys—Special Holiday Musical Edition

Casual livestream episode of Nightcap (Land Geek community) in a special holiday musical format. Hosts Mike Zeno, Scott Bossman, and Matt Forbes trade humorous banter, perform multiple land-investing themed parody songs (e.g., Jingle Bells, Rocking Around the Land Geek Tree, 12 Days of Land Geek), and showcase community contributions (songs by Aileen De Augustine). The show interleaves community Q&A and comments, short instructional/organizational segments (Think Tank Thursday, Quote of the Week), and promotional mentions (Flight School, boot camp tickets, Investor Toolkit, GeekPay). Tone is playful, informal, and community-focused.
Chapters
It's.
Well, that was a awkward end to the song.
Hey. Hey. How you doing, Mike Zeno?
I'm doing well. How you doing, Scott Bossman?
I'm doing well. I better make sure that I'm showing the context of the shirt.
Yeah. Because all I see is get lit.
Yeah, I know. And that's not appropriate. But this sweater is appropriate. It would make sense, though, that it would light up, but it doesn't.
Yeah. We're not dressed as normal, but because.
It'S our special holiday edition.
It is.
It is.
You know, first of all, who are we? Why are we here live?
Well, we are the Land Geek guys.
Okay.
And this is Nightcap. And the reason we have Nightcap is why?
Because we love having a drink and talking about land investing, and we love to bring that to the community. We figure there's a lot of people burning the midnight oil, as you used to say. Right. And we want to be there to support them and help them in their journey.
Support them, help them in their journey and have some fun. Because how many of us just get a little overwhelmed? We need to. We need to de. Stress. We need to reset with some fun conversation and maybe a cocktail or a hot chocolate or whatever have you. Whatever you prefer.
What are you drinking this evening?
I'm having the. It's a new favorite. Belmead Reserve cask strength.
Wha.
Whaaat.
How'd that happen?
Very good friend of us is very generous.
Very generous. It's very nice of him to send that to us. Mike. We have some viewers. Matt Forbes, Debbie Liu, Steve Harris. Jeremiah McCam says. Good evening.
Good evening.
Thanks for tuning in, everybody.
So if this is somebody who's first time watching us apologize in advance because this is a holiday show and we will sing.
Yes, they will sing.
Well, I just said we'll sing.
Right. And the reason we're singing is because we left it to the community. We gave them a choice.
We did give choice.
Would you rather have NightCap the Musical 2, or would you rather have Nightcap, Jeopardy. And Nightcap the Musical won by a chinny chin chin.
Yeah. There was another category put by Matt Forbes. It was the musical. Jeopardy. Musical. That would have been interesting.
That would be interesting. Yes.
Matt could have been Alex Trebek. Trebek or Trebek. I never know. Is there a B or V there?
Trebek. Trebek. Trebek.
You think he's really that smart? I mean, he just reads it. I mean, it's in front of him.
But he's been reading it for 50 years. I mean, you Would think some of that would soak in. He's gotta be smart.
True. Very true. Good point.
I'd like to see him go through the show as a contestant once. He would probably just clean house.
So should we talk? Listen, the thing about the land investing is that it's a consistent process, right? We've been talking a lot about this lately. In the beginning, it can be a little bit of a grind, right? I mean, you get to get your. You know, I think I gotta say we had the lounge prior to this. Right. And did you like my analogy to watching a new TV series?
I did like that analogy, and I'll give you another analogy here in a minute, but you go ahead and tell that analogy, because I think. I think the community would appreciate it.
Well, it's like, did you ever, like, have a, you know, friend that's watching a TV series or you start watching a TV series right in the beginning, it's very difficult to follow, right? You're, like, trying to figure out who the key players are, the plots developing. It's entertaining, but you just. And then finally, you watch it long enough and it clicks. You know, the cast of characters, you know the content, you know, you know the screenplay, you know, how it all. How it works, right? And then it starts to make sense. And if you recommend it to a friend, he's gonna be like, this doesn't make any sense. This is common. The land investing is the same. You gotta learn. You gotta know what the whole situation is, right? Coming to a sitcom, you've got to learn the lay of the land. You got to learn the processes. And in the beginning, it can be a little difficult, but the more you pay attention and the reason why we do this show honestly is to help people when they're new or even in the middle of the journey to basically understand more of those terms, right? Understand it more with a different perspective, a laid back, more just kind of easy approach to it where we can just kind of translate things and keep them kind of real and simple and. And just palpable, right? So I think it's a great analogy. What do you think?
I do like that analogy. I do like it a lot. And I do like watching shows, so I can relate. Can I tell you my analogy that I just came up with yesterday?
I would love to hear it.
Two days ago, I did mention it briefly during Win Wednesday. I think it was because we're doing this new Facebook segment or this new Facebook deal, right? Where we have a new segment every day, except we missed today.
You just Remind me of that.
What's that?
You remind me of that. Because today will be Think Tank Thursday. We want. We could do a quick segment on that.
We.
We're here now. We could do a quick Think Tank Thursday.
Yeah, we can do that. Let's. Let's tell the analogy, and then we'll. We'll do that a little bit later. It'll be a new one of our segments. You got something ready to talk about anyway, so.
I do.
Here's my analogy with the business, okay? And not everyone can relate to this, but I definitely can. And I bet Matt Forbes can, too. I don't know about you, Mike, but I don't know if you've ever gotten one of those huge LEGO sets like the Millennium Falcon or the fire station, whatever. Right, Fire. And within that huge LEGO box is a series of bags. They're labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, so on and so forth.
Yes, I'm following you.
You empty one of those bags out, you construct what's in that bag, and you have one part of the entire whole of your Millennium Falcon.
Very good.
And that's what this business is, because you need to work on your main bag and your due diligence bag and your marketing bag, and you're selling. And what happens is, within each of those areas, you have small wins, right? When you send out your first mailing, in my opinion, that's a big win. But when you get your first list, when you scrub your first list, those are wins. When you mail, that is a win. When you do due diligence on a parcel or you use a lane Geek va for the first time, that is a win. Small Wednesday, so on and so forth. And then what happens, Mike? You put all of those pieces together and you have your huge Millennium Falcon LEGO machine.
You know, I love that because a lot of times I do say something similar. People are asking me about flight school, right? And I say, well, basically, Scott has this working, functioning model, and he takes it apart like a set of building, like Lego blocks, and he shows you how to put it together piece by piece. So not only is it like you're getting the bags right, but you're getting the person next to you saying, okay, now put that there. Okay, now move that there. Now do that. Correct. There you go. You have that support system, that accountability, like, hey, don't get frustrated. You can do this. Continue to do that.
You know, you get that support and follow the directions.
Follow the recipe.
Follow the recipe. Because if you don't follow the recipe, you're Going to end up with some junky looking Millennium Falcon.
Yeah, you get the Millennium Falcon, it could end up looking like, I don't know, some sort of robot or could look like a house or. It's not a millennial falcon, right? You want the millennial falcon.
That's exactly right. So, anyway, that's my analogy. I thought I'd share. Josh Zano just joined the show. He came to hear you.
Yeah, he probably knows his dad's gonna sing. He's a budding land investor himself. Very proud of him. He's recently become a journeyman plumber, which is no easy task.
Congrats, Josh. That's awesome. That's amazing. So we should probably move on to the meat of our show, don't you think?
Yeah. Talk about the genesis of the show.
All right, so this is nightcap the musical 2. And the reason we're doing this is. Well, there are a few reasons for doing this. First of all, we were inspired to do this, correct. By a particular land geek. Her name is Aileen De Augustine. And I think she just. She just joined. She said, hello, gentlemen. We need to give her props because I think it was last June. You and I had been speaking with Aileen because she was contemplating flight school and was wanting to get involved, and somehow it came up that you and I should sing her a song and. Or I can't remember.
Yeah, we alluded to the. Hey, come on. Remember the old song? Come on, Aileen? I swear that we started, and she said, oh, you need to sing that song to me. So you came up with a really great version of it, right?
Yes, I came up with a great version of it. I don't know if it's a great version or not.
You should sing it now. I'll help you out. Come on, Scott.
All right. I think we should sing it for Aileen because she motivated us to take. Take. Take the leap to sing online, which I never thought I would ever do before. I'll sing in a karaoke bar, but I don't know if I, you know, sing online or not. What's going on over there? Mike, you okay?
Yeah. Just making sure everything was cool over there. It's all good, though.
All right, Sounds good. So, Aileen, this is for you. We're kicking off NightCap the Musical 2. This is the only non holiday song, by the way.
By the way.
Ready?
Ready.
Okay. We're gonna trade off, right? Is that how we're doing this?
Sure, sure. You need one of those kazoos first. What's those things? They Use. What's it called?
It's called a kazoo.
Is it called a kazoo?
Well, it's called a pitch pipe.
Pitch pipe. You're pitch perfect. Anyway, let's go. You sing a line, I sing a line.
Perfect. Anyway, how about if I have one of these right here?
I love it.
Come on, Aileen. Oh, I swear, you are green.
When it comes to land investing, Scott.
Todd is the best. Oh, my thoughts I confess after flight.
School, you'll be killing it. That was just a quick one.
Too Ra Too Ran that wasn't on the board.
Anyway, that's what started it all. We made up a little song, but Aileen has come back with some incredible songs from that point forward, hasn't she? You got a sample?
Aileen hasn't stopped. She has. I think it was out of appreciation because we, you know, came up with that song, that goofy song for her. She actually composed a few of her own songs which we will play throughout the course of the show. Okay, here's the first. Let me see if can find it.
Ready?
Ready.
If you're selling land on your own terms, Geek pay's the only way. Oh, GeekPay IE GeekPay IO GeekPay IO GeekPay's the only way.
Oh, wow.
I like it.
She's got a good voice.
Yes. Unlike me.
Dude, you have a good voice. You have a cold. I can tell.
Yeah, I was hoping that would help. I was gonna do a little, like, Johnny Cash type song this evening, folks. Time to sing a little Christmas.
I like that. I like that low voice for sure.
Yeah.
Aileen says she's crying. She loves it. Thank you, Aileen. Appreciate it.
All right, this is it, so.
No, that's not it, dude. We got more singing to do.
That's what I meant. Is this it?
Yeah. We're going to segue into the. Into the. Into the Christmas singing. But I would like to say to the community that this doesn't have to be all goofy tonight. If you have questions, comments, concerns, please post them in the comments and we will address those.
Absolutely, absolutely. Should we bring Matt on while we start singing? Should we bring the guest in or do you want to wait a little bit?
We can bring him on. Sure.
Little group support for when we start singing.
Group support would be good. Sure. I can only imagine the mocking we will receive from him, but yeah, that might be good.
I'm promoting him to a panelist. There he is. Ah, we surprised you. You're in the group. Oh, that was really good, the way you looked like you Were talking on the side and then you. It was like.
It was like I was. I was, you know, really taken back by Dude Buddy's comment that I mock people, and that hurts my feelings deep down inside and just me.
Just mock me.
I would never make fun of Zano. So.
No.
What's happening?
How's it going?
Hey, the real bot Simpson's watching.
Hey, Bart. Much more singing, he says. It's coming, Bart. Oh, it's coming.
Oh, don't worry. A storm's on its way back, but.
Okay, fair enough.
I think we could. I think we're ready to start it off, Mike. I think the community should also know that these are, you know, they're not necessarily your traditional Christmas carols by lyric.
Anyway, they are in my house, I'll tell you that. I don't know what you guys celebrate, but this is how I roll.
Sure.
Well, we are here and we will sing.
I'm ready when you're ready. It's. You take the stage, dude. All right.
I'm gonna start off with a, you know, it's a very. It's not that well known of a Christmas song. Very, very. Kind of, you know, not so popular one called Jingle Bells.
Jingle Bells. Nice.
Let me clear my throat.
Okay, we're not ready.
Are we ready? Matt, you're making me nervous.
No, it's just. Let Me Clear My Throat by DJ Kool.
All right, this is Jingle Bells as interpreted by the land investing. How's that sound? Mail offers, mail offers, mail offers today if you mail, let us out, deals will come your way. Mail offers, mail offers, mail offers today if you mail letters out, deals will come your way.
Hey.
Your flow starts out slow. You work at it each day. But in the end you'll know you'll make awesome pay. Hey, your phone will ring sometimes even at night. What fun it is to buy and sell the land. Geek way is right.
Oh.
Mail offers, mail offers, mail offers Today if you mail letters out, deals will come your way. Mail offers, mail offers, mail offers today if you mail. Let us out, deals will come your way.
Nice.
That was good.
That was really good.
Yeah, that was good.
Did you compose that yourself?
No, I have to give credit to my daughter, Summer. She actually is really good at this. I just found out today.
Yeah, Summer. I am Summer. I am impressed, Summer.
I could sing it with me, but she was a little shy.
Yeah, I can imagine. I mean, it's hard to sing next to you.
Hey, forget about it.
Forget about it.
Anyway, I broke the ice. The ice has been broken.
Broke the Ice. There are no negative comments. There are no positive comments.
There are no comments.
No comments is a win, gentlemen.
Still any viewers?
There are some viewers, yes. Quite a few. Quite a few viewers.
Where's our.
Yep.
Where's our. Eric Peterson? Where's our.
Yep, yep, yep. I don't see him on tonight, but that's okay.
Storage wars guy. Yep.
Let's see here.
So did you have anything you'd like to sing, Scott?
What's that?
Did you have anything you'd like to sing for us?
Well, of course I do. I mean, yeah, it's. It's Nightcap the Musical. I can't not sing, right? So, you know, this is one of my favorites. Bing Crosby, anyone?
Bing.
Bada bing, bada bing, bada boom. All right, so let me see here. Okay. Laura Zano said, great job, babe. That's nice of her. I'm dreaming of a land Christmas Just like the ones the land geek knows where the treetops glisten and campers listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow I'm dreaming of a land Christmas where we are feeling financially free May your passive income be out of sight and may all your Christmases be bright hey.
That was quite good.
Thanks, buddy.
Thanks. Cheers to you.
Here's to you.
But in all honesty, when I was writing that song today, I was thinking about it, like, you know, five Christmases ago, different story than today, and it's because of this business model. It's pretty fun. It's pretty phenomenal.
It's awesome. Whoa. Nice voice, Scott. From Debbie Louis, A Star Is Born.
A Star is Born. Mike's favorite movie.
Great movie. If anybody hasn't seen that movie, I encourage you to see it is not.
Out on Redbox yet.
No, that should be in Dolby sound. You need to see that. That is insane.
It looks amazing.
Goosebumps.
Dolby sound, huh? Has it. Has to be.
Has to be.
Has to be. All right, so any questions for us?
Any questions? We got some comments. We've got some nice, positive comments.
Kj, Ask a question. Be a man.
We're looking sharp. We're sounding good. It's all about fun tonight.
I love it, Scott. Maybe we should do a segment then. Can we do a segment?
Yeah, let's do a segment. All right, so I do have a quote of the week picked out. So we'll do a quote of the week, and then we're gonna move to Forbes and his singing prowess, the other.
Forbes segment, because I'm getting a little low.
Run away.
So we do have a quote of the week. And I'll share my screen here.
Quarter of the week. Quote of the week, I think.
I think quote of the week. I like that. I think Sarah Ant has the most quotes of the week on Nightcap. And here's another.
Love Sarah Ann.
Love her. So she was feeling reminiscent today. She posted this today. She actually first posted this over a year ago in November 2017, but reposted it today in the group. She said after I emailed my list building VA a news area to scrub, I came across my records and had to share. On July 22, she spent approximately five hours Frankensteining a list in a bad county and she got 22 names of in state owners. She said people ask if flight school is worth the money all day. Three months later and she can barely remember those horrible days before flight school. Parentheses and I've almost made all my money back in cash. Tripled it in terms. Yeah, so that's a good. It's a good share, right?
If you ever meet. For the people out there, if you ever go to boot camp and you get a chance to meet her, she's. Her story is pretty good in terms of land gig stuff, right? She was like totally intimidated. You know, this would. It's not even like mentally it wouldn't work. Just like sort of scared of all of it. And she was like, you know what? The hell with it. I'm just gonna go do it. She did it and she's doing well.
She's doing well. And yeah, she's. She's definitely, definitely not a tape. Not afraid of taking massive action and has. Has moved the needle for sure.
She talked a little bit one of the boot camps and actually inspired a lot of people. Very, you know, inspiring. You know, I think the magic is conveyed in stories you hear other people, normal people, just like us. Well, maybe we're not normal, but you know, average people just as us. And you feel, you know, everybody find someone they can relate to. So the boot camps, great for that, that networking. In fact, I still think Danielle posted the other day, 10, 10 more rooms she got reserved. And this is one of the best ones in Texas in my opinion. Love Texas. So if anybody out there hasn't reserved their room, get on it now. It will sell out.
It is not too late to get the investor toolkit and reserve your room.
And we do sometimes sing live, right?
Yes, we do.
I'm at a different hotel. Okay.
If Mark Wadolski says sing, you sing. You say how loud?
Exactly. Yes. Hey, Mike, I have something to say real quick.
Hi to Eric Peterson.
Hear me?
Yes.
Yep. You know what that means?
Yep. Yep. Wait a minute.
You just muted yourself. You just. You just muted yourself.
He's just self muted. What's up with that?
You say Eric Peterson is watching.
Yeah, Eric Peterson is here. Sorry, my itunes started to go crazy. I don't know why. So, yes, Eric Peterson is here. He's in the house. Eric, thank you for joining. Yes, thank you for this. It's very yummy.
And Eric Peterson, you missed the first songs. But don't worry, we have more.
There are more to come. And we're especially excited for the next song, Matt Forbes, performed by Matt Forbes.
Actually, my wife would like to know why Eric Peterson is not singing. If we could get an answer on that, that'd be great.
I mean, we could pull him on.
But just throw it. Just, you know, it's what Ann told me to say. She said it. I'm relaying it to you.
And we just want to hear Matt sing because we know he's going to kill it.
Oh, God. Okay. All right, hold on. Let me drink a lot of whiskey first. All right, so I have a cold. So the songs I wanted to sing, I can't sing. So I have the 12 days of land geek. So you guys can sing along as we start to go. We all know how long the song goes, so.
Sure.
Now, are you gonna count back after each.
Yeah, I was going to, but I'd be happy not to if it went back. Yeah.
Cause we could join in.
Yeah, you guys can join in.
Yeah, we're gonna join in.
Peterson says no singing. I don't. You know, he looks like a fun, fun guy. I don't get it.
Do you have the lyrics? Do you have the lyrics?
Yeah, you want me to put them in?
Yeah, put them in the chat. There.
Helpful if we put them in the chat, because then we could help you.
Okay. There we go. All right. So you guys can help me count back as we go. So. On the first day of land geek, Mark Podolski gave to me an investor's toolkit under my tree. On the second day of land geek Mark Podolski gave to me two tickets to boot camp and an investor ticket. Under my greedy. On the third day of land geek Mark Podolsky gave to me three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp and an investor's tools kit under my green. On the fourth day of land geek Mark Podolski gave to me four month of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp, and an.
Investor took it under his tree.
On the fifth day of land, geek Mark Podolski gave to me five months of take, four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp and an investor's toolkit under my tree.
That's awesome.
On the sixth day of land geek Mark Podolski gave to me six mastermind calls, five months of tape, four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp and investors toolkit under my tree.
You go ahead and pause for a minute, Matt. It's fine.
Drinking. Let's see here. Are we on seven? On the seventh day of land, geek Mark Podolski gave to me 700 mailings per month, six mastermind calls, five.
Four.
Months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp and an investor's toolkit under my tree. On the eighth day of land, geek Mark Podolski gave to me eight Craigslist ads, 700 mailings per month, six mastermind calls, five months of three, four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp, an investor toolkit under my tree.
And lots of whiskey.
More. More.
All right. On the eighth day of land geek Mark Rudolphi gave to me.
Hey.
Craigslist ad 700 ranks per month, six mastermind calls, five. Four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp, an investor toolkit under my tree. On the ninth day of land geek Mark Rudolphi gave to me nine due diligence reports, eight Craigslist ads, 700 mailings per month, six mastermind calls, five. Four dang scotch, four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp and investors will get under my tree. On the 11th day of land, geek Mark Podolski gave to me 11 months of coaching, 10 office hours, nine due diligence reports, eight Craigslist ads, 700 mailings per month, six mastermind calls, five months of pay, four months of flight school, three county streets are two tickets, booth camp and investors. You'll get under my tree. On the 12th day of land, geek Mark Podolski gave to me 12 lifetimes of financial freedom, 11 months of coaching, 10 office hours, nine due diligence reports, eight Craigslist ads, 700 mailings per month, six mastermind calls, five months of landing, four months of flight school, three counties to research, two tickets to boot camp in San Antonio. Get your tickets now. There's still a few spots left. And Dastard toolkit under my tree.
Oh, my goodness gracious.
That was horrible.
That was. That was.
That was amazing. You have outdone yourself.
That was amazing, Matt.
Oh, man. I do not like.
I can't wait till next Christmas.
I was gonna try to do Merry Christmas, baby with like the Bruce Springsteen version, but I.
That's a good one.
I couldn't get there.
Matt, thank you so much. I'm in need of your segment right now.
Yeah. So not gonna lie. The segment. The segment ran out in preparation of singing.
I still steal a little bit there. Let's pour it.
Is there a little left here?
Let's do it.
Yeah.
Here we go.
It's the refill segment.
All right, gents, if you've been working hard and singing like a moron all evening. Here we go. There it is. You deserve it. If you've been sitting here researching counties since 8 o' clock at night like I have, you deserve a cocktail. If you're wearing an oversized giant red Santa pettible coat. Cheers.
Pettible.
Oh, it's pettible. Don't make me wear this to boot camp. It'll be too hot. But I won't do it.
My mother in law is watching.
Oh, that's. I'm so sorry for you.
Stop the presses.
She had to hear that.
Your mother in law.
Yeah, Nancy, Ma is watching.
Hi, mom. Hi, Nancy. I love you, Mom.
You missed the first half of the singing, but there's more to come.
Terrific. Time to tune out. But we thank you for tuning in.
Matt Forbes. That was awesome. So we definitely appreciate you putting yourself out there like that. We just put you on the spot.
You did very well.
You just said, matt, you're singing tonight and you stepped up and you killed it.
So just a quick note to Nancy if she's still watching, literally. This is what your son in law does now.
It's this.
Right?
So special cocktail for Nancy. All right.
I wear fancy sweaters and get lit sweaters and I compose songs.
Love it. Can we get a real song? Like an Aileen song? Can we hit play on one of those? We can hear some real.
There are more Aileen songs. Yes. Here, I got. Here's the next one. Take a little. Take a hiatus, gentlemen.
If you want to buy some land. Land moto. Wilderness or desert sand? Land moto. You can really Get a steal. Sign up for the weekly deal. There's no better place for land. Landmodo.com.
That is awesome. Alien de Augustine. Love it. Mike, how are you feeling? How are you feeling?
I'm feeling great, you know.
Yes.
I've been beat down a little cold that's going around, but nothing like friends and whiskey to bring that.
There it is.
Bring that up.
Friends and whiskey and music and. I don't know, it's a time of year. You gotta be feeling thankful, right, for where you are in life and how we got here and market time of.
Year too, because here we are. Oh, I should.
Should we.
Should I grab the Think Tank Thursday information?
Yeah, let's do it.
But I gotta go grab it. Unless my beautiful wife would bring it to me.
I think either way would work.
Mike, the journal is over there on the shelf.
So this was meant to be posted earlier today in the Facebook group. You know, life is a little bit chaotic sometimes.
We got stuff to do, you know, that's right. And the way to stay organized in the midst of chaos is my Think Tank Thursday.
Okay, awesome. Let's hear about it. I want. I want to know.
So there's a great company out there, Best self. And one of the things that we talked about this a little bit in the roundtable this week, which, like, you know, we've talked a little bit about on several occasions, the idea of, you know, how do you live in the moment yet have structure, right? Have goals, have things to accomplish tasks and so on. So actually I found that, you know, through this method that you can create this type of spontaneity, allow for spontaneity, allow for being in the moment, but also allow to accomplish what you need to. So two things I love. One is my weekly action plan. So you have this weekly action plan you create. It's basically you dump all your thoughts in there, what you need to do for the week so you don't have to worry about when you have time. And then you add it into this beautiful self journal. You add in the day. So you take these tasks and you put them in per day. So every day is organized, but you leave room for creativity in those blocks of time that you set aside. So you can get a mix of focused effort on certain topics or ideas or tasks, but yet you still have the ability to be spontaneous in those moments and enjoy the freedom of being, like, focused and spontaneous. And it's just a mixture of the two. So I love it.
Focused and spontaneous. I love that.
Yeah, it's really. I Can't wait. I mean, this is awesome.
So I'm excited as well. I received a best self journal today. Excited to use it. And it's. I don't know, it looks very cool to me. I think, you know, to go along with the think tank. A guy I've been reading lately and listening to is Benjamin Hardy. He's my mother in law. She's funny. Who's this new guy? He's not new, Nancy. He's been around for a while.
Nancy, I've been drinking for a very long time.
Thank you. That is funny. So anyway, Benjamin Hardy talks about the benefit of journaling and I've really been taking to heart everything he's been having to say, especially in his book. Willpower doesn't work. It's a good book. Check it out.
All right, you put the link in the, in the notes for that because I'm gonna order that book. I just want to see exactly what it is.
Willpower. It's not. Doesn't work though. I always blank on the title for some reason. Yeah, it is. Willpower doesn't Work by Benjamin Eric Peterson.
I like the best self journal. Been using them for well over a year now.
Really?
Thanks for sharing, Eric. That'd be a good tip of the week a year ago.
Eric, do you find that it allows to be focused on the right tasks but yet also allow for creativity? Do you agree with that? And you can answer with a simple yep. Or you could elaborate.
We're waiting, Eric.
Yeah, we're all patiently waiting.
Show is sort of just stopped looking for the Heck yes, it was, I guess.
Who's playing this?
That was Bosman.
What song was that, Scott?
Oh, Big dog joined the call. Oh, it's getting ugly. Watch out.
I have no idea why my itunes is going crazy.
What is.
Matt, Todd is in the room.
Got Todd's in the room.
Eric Peterson, did you do your song.
While Scott's listening or do you want me to go?
Well, I think it's your turn.
All right, well, Scott, you need to stick around because lots of good content.
Definitely need to stick around for the next song. The next song.
So don't go anywhere. All right. Well, is it my turn?
Yeah, it's your turn.
So yeah, we've been singing. Scott, Todd, you'll have to catch a little bit of the reruns. We've all done a song so far. They've been. And Matt Phobe is an incredible 12 Days of Christmas. And I have a little song that's, you know, it's affectionately called Rocking around the Land Geek tree.
Nice.
Ooh. Hey. All right.
Scott. Todd says, dang, I couldn't sneak in. No, we keep a close eye, and when you come in, Scott, we notice.
Big, big alarms go off in my office when I see his name pop up.
Okay, I'm ready.
Can I go?
Am I ready?
The floor is yours.
The floor is mine. All right. And the best Johnny Cash voice he could summon. Rocking around the Land Geek tree. At the Land Geek Lounge tonight, Landads posted for you to see. With an offer buyers will bite. Rocking around the Land Geek tree. Let the callers and emails ring. Later we'll have some strong whiskey and we'll do some educating. You will get a fundamental feeling when you hear emails dinging. Let's be jolly. Print the deals and mail the money. Rocking around the lanky tree. Making money every day. Everyone mailing priority. Even only 20 a day. Ask 20.
Yeah, that's good. All right.
That's amazing. Good work. Thanks, buddy.
Again, written very well by my daughter, Summer.
Summer, thank you so much. That was very nice for you to help your dad out today because I know he was stressed about the musical. Yeah.
We got in traffic and I said, I have a great idea. Would you like to help me? And she jumped right on it. So very happy.
That's awesome. Very good. Thank you. Summa. Eric Peterson gave a comment. I gave him a little. I gave him a hard time a minute ago saying, you know, that should have been. Been his tip of the week a long time ago and apparently very early in the year. Last year, he did give the self help journal as the tip of the week and he said very early in my time on the podcast. I think Mark probably may have given him a hard time about.
It's amazing. But, Eric, do you have the corresponding weekly action plan? Because this is where you dump the thoughts and then plug them in the journal. I'm curious, Eric, do you have this as well?
We're waiting, Eric.
We'll all just wait for Eric.
Well, Scott Todd did say amazing. I'm gonna assume he's talking about my song.
Yeah, of course.
Eric's journal comment. I was confused, but I'm gonna go with my song.
Yes.
I think we should point out that Nancy Morris is pretty unhappy that Scott Todd's not singing. It seems like she's pretty intelligent.
Eric, you got to get this. Eric. So, you know, I'm gonna do Eric, I'm gonna take one and I'm gonna put it in an envelope. We're gonna mail it to you, and you can just Copy it.
No. No copying of the best self journal on illegal page. Not good.
Okay, don't do that.
Don't do that privately.
Come, we'll sing Christmas carols. We will, you know, infringe on copyright. It's, it's all good. Everybody come on down.
It was a joke. I take it back.
Yeah, it was all in good fun. Yes. So we still have a lot of viewers. If anybody has questions, comments, concerns.
Well, your mother in law has a comment. She says your turn.
Who says that?
Your mother in law. She said it's your turn.
Oh, my turn.
And Scott Todd's still on here, so I think it's a perfect time for you to sing your next song.
All right, I need to get ready.
So entertain the crowd while you get ready.
Just Mike will now tell his very best joke. Go ahead, Mike.
Give me just a second. Okay, Just a second. You go ahead and converse amongst yourselves.
Converse amongst yourselves. And I don't really have a favorite joke. Actually, my favorite one is this one. And it's not really a joke. It's a statement. And not everybody gets it. And that's indicative of the statement. You know, there's three kinds of mathematicians. Those who can add and those who can't.
Yeah, that's a good one. You know, my Cub Scouts also say that on campouts, so I love that.
Never heard that one before.
Oh, oh, now, now, now, mom and dad, don't start fighting. Come on now, it's a family show.
Eric Peterson says it was 6 hours, 27 minutes and 17 seconds. Boy, he's got a good memory.
Why would he. How would.
I didn't even know that. That's amazing. That means he's probably got it in his journal.
He's got it. I bet I got a dollar that says Eric Peterson has an air table with his stuff of the week. Yeah, Eric, am I. Did I just win a dollar from Zayn?
Eric, I want to know what date I first made it into your journal. So can you post that date, please?
Lots of words like dates and journals, you know, I don't know, it's interesting.
Nancy Ma again saying now you can sing.
Scott Todd.
I think I'm ready.
Scott Todd still on here because this is. He should be here.
Well, I hope he's still on here because he's the focus of the song. Really?
Nancy Ma again said now you can.
And if he's not here, I guess we are recording the call. So are you ready?
Take it away.
So this is a little ditty I came up with earlier today. I Don't know where the inspiration came from. It just did. Right?
Yes.
Sorry.
No, no.
Take your time.
You're good. Scott Todd says I'm here. This is good.
Scott Todd got run over by reindeer coming home from Mark's house Christmas Eve. You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and say no. We believe he'd been drinking too much eggnog. With Mimi drinking her new wine, Kate in the corner eating donuts and Eric drinking bourbon. Feeling fine, Scott forgot about the flight school. He was destined to his fate. He stepped outside to fly his airplane, grabbed his bat, but for the first time, he'd be late. Scott got doctor over by reindeer coming home from Mark's house Christmas Eve. You can say there's no such thing as dirt rich, but as for me, insano we believe.
That was awesome.
Yeah, that was good. That was really good.
Hopefully the music came through okay.
That was amazing.
I don't have a soundboard or anything.
So that was solid. You did a good job.
Awesome. Thank you. Scott Todd, for you. You got run over by reindeer.
That was amazing.
That was really good.
Fun stuff, huh? Indeed, indeed, sir.
I'm waiting to see Scott Todd's comment.
He just said he's here. He's here.
That was before the song, Scott.
That was before the song.
What do you think of this song, Scott? We're waiting with bated breath for the positive reinforcement.
Please, God, give it to us.
Your mother in law loved it.
Yeah.
Laura loved it.
I love making my mother in law happy.
Aileen said so fun.
My lot in life. All right, guys.
He wrote Speechless.
That's a classic Scott comment right there.
That was a pretty. Yeah, that was fun. It was fun. It was a lot of fun. You know, I introduced the music, which we haven't had before, so, you know, we upped the bar for next time.
I don't even know how to do that. That was amazing technology.
Karaoke music in the background.
It was very solid. Well done.
Thank you, sir.
Well played. You might say.
Well played.
I'd say we saved the best for last. That was great.
He's crying. Scott Todd is crying.
You got run over by a reindeer.
Yeah, the reindeer hurts. So what should we do? Any segments before we end? Any other segments.
I mean, we got the Boston Legacy segment, which is always fun.
You got a word?
Yeah, yeah, I got a word.
I mean, it's not going to be Dunkeys, is it?
No, I always have a word with you. I mean, it doesn't like. I used to like, put A lot of energy into trying to find a Boston lega word of the week. Now I just talk to you every day, and one just appears. It's just crazy. One.
Just one.
Just one up here today.
So the Boston Legacy segment is where we all learn a new Bostonian word. And basically what happens is I spell the word, Mike says the word. Here's my favorite cheetah.
Don't ever play cards with a cheetah.
Right, the cheetah. Yes. It's my favorite Bostonian word. We got another one tonight that is kind of in the same vein. You ready?
Picture for it.
No picture. I'm sorry. Pulling a picture up in that regard. Okay, you ready?
I'm gonna do my best.
R I N G E R. Say it again.
Little like a cheetah.
R I N G E R. It's a ringer. A ringer.
It's like when you go to play, you go to karaoke. Scott, right? You're just about to get your turn. They send some guy up and he's a ringer. He sings like he's in a band. He kills it. And you look at your wife and you go, I'm not gonna embarrass myself.
He's a freaking ringer.
I'm tapping out the ring. I went. I've seen it happen live many a time.
Yeah, it's brutal.
It's brutal. I never imagined the response to that. That was awesome. The ring eye. Love it. I'm gonna compile. I'm gonna write, like, an ebook with all the words. The Boston words. Boston Lego words of the week.
That could be a book. You know, the Boston Lego segment seems like an ebook. You better go copyright that right now.
I'm gonna. I'm gonna go buy BostonLega.com right now.
It's already bought.
It's already bought. Hey, Barry.
Warren joined. Barry, haven't seen you a long time. Great to have you on here.
Barry's here. Barbie, you missed the singing.
You'd have to watch the rerun.
Thank you guys for joining us.
One of the countless millions to watch the rerun.
Scott. Todd gave it a solid 10.
Yeah, like solid gold. Any of you guys old enough to remember Solid Gold?
So yeah. Yes.
That was pre MTV. That was music and dancers.
Sunday night, 6pm Solid.
That was incredible. So watch out. My father. That was solid gold. It was like the pre mtv.
It really was. Along with let's do that other show, Soul Train.
Yep. Soul Train came after.
How about usa?
Sha Na Na na Na.
Sha Na Na. That was on like Public TV before Lawrence Welk.
Who's this guy?
Where's the beach? There it is.
What was the guy's name they did?
The.
Bowser.
Bowser.
Is that right?
Yeah.
You guys are really old.
That's not a Super Mario Brothers character either.
No, Aileen got it. She got it, too.
Jake Martin just joined.
Jake Martin. Thanks for tuning in. He probably just got done with flight school. So we'll have to encourage the people who attended flight school tonight to go back and watch the musical if they're not.
Or delete it off of public servers everywhere. For. There's options. I'm just saying there's options.
Okay, so, guys, I had fun tonight. Did you guys have fun tonight?
I had an incredible time. And I learned that you both are incredibly talented. And contrary to popular belief, Matt can sing.
No.
And now Matt will sing at boot camp along with us.
God, no.
No, no, no, no, no, no. Matt was a. That was a very exciting rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. And we got through all of it. Scott.
Yes, Scott. Todd's got to check that out on the rerun. The 12 Days of Christmas. Five months of tape, five months of t. That was great.
All right. You guys are awesome.
Let me get the outro ready. I better get the outro ready. Talk amongst yourselves.
Okay, I got a toast.
Yeah, toast.
Okay, I'm sorry.
Literally out of alcohol.
Don't be mad. It's fine.
Oh, let me get the outro ready while you get the toast ready.
I got the toast ready. All right, this is to you guys and all my friends.
You know what the big thing now is? Scott.
What's up?
Interrupting?
No.
Is toast with avocado on it.
Yeah, that's the big thing now.
Well, you're talking about toast, so I figured that. Nevermind.
Toast with avocado. Do you put anything else on there? Avocado.
Madonna does it every morning. I think she probably does a little salt and pepper.
Pepper.
Pepper. My friend has a little boy. He calls him Peppa.
Another word.
All right, listen, I'm pulling up this as you get into the. That.
Yeah, I'm into that. And I got a toast for everybody. So for all my land, keep friends, raise your glass. May you live as long as you wish and have all you wish as long as you live. Wow.
Financial freedom. Look at you.
This is my holiday wish for you.
Thank you, my Christmas cheers.
And now the outro. Thank you once again for completing me.
You're completing me?
Yes.
Now you complete me. And Matt Forbes, you are an excellent singer.
Thanks for.
See you guys.
